I hate buying mattresses; so we suffered with the one we had. We heard good things about CTM from a neighbor. Easy to get to, it’s in an unpretentious little strip mall. I called my best friend who sells fine mattresses in Northern Cal. She gave me a crash course over the phone and urged us to upgrade to latex if we could afford it. I doubted we could, but at least I had good notes on how to choose a good mattress. We called Jim and made an appointment.
He was great– very knowledgeable, easy going and no heavy sales pitch. He was more like a teacher, carefully explaining the options and encouraging us to take our time trying out all the different models. They had a lot, but not so many as to get overwhelmed. We hopped around from bed to bed… we took forever! He didn’t push toward the pricier mattresses; Jim encouraged us to be guided by our own tastes and comfort. Finally, we narrowed it down to 3, then 2 and when he gave us a great price, we went for the all natural Latex mattress of our dreams. It was custom made, with wood legs and natural coverings. It was delivered in a few days and they took the old mattress. All for a very fair price! Jim followed up with us a week later to make sure we were happy. Great service.
