I walked to this location after attending a holiday party nearby. I had some trouble finding the store and I ended up wandering from the back of the actual building where the suite is housed in to find the entrance. I’m not too familiar with Liberty Station but people who have been to nearby businesses probably won’t have a problem finding it. This store looks and feels much roomier compared to the Clairemont location and has less«stuff» laying around to browse through. The layout reminds me a little of how a tiny Barnes & Noble might be organized. Different parts of the store have neat and easily accessible shelving and aisles dedicated to toys and figures, single issues, trade paperbacks, written books, and children’s items. If I remember correctly, books are organized by title and not by publisher. Ellis helped me pick out gifts for 8 and 11 year old girls and a 15 year old boy. He asked me about each of them and I ended up with a large pile of gift options for each to think about and he left me to make my final decisions. He told me about the ones he had read and was upfront about the ones he had not read, but had heard good things about. My nieces and nephew liked their gifts! I haven’t been here more than once as it’s too far for me to want to make the drive down, but I recommend it if you live nearby or are in the area.

A nice little comic and collectors shop tucked inside the other dining and hidden shops/spots of liberty station. I have been to the original store location on Claremont Mesa Blvd and did notice a few things that would be nice in my collector library. One thing about that location is that is did have a little clutter as in there was so much stuff and they wanted all the merchandise out on the floor. Now with two locations maybe the original site can send some of the merchandise here and free up some space. The liberty station location is roughly the same size, but is a whole lot more breathable. Collectible figures/statues, art books and a selection of graphic novels, theis store does a nice job as being that hidden hobbie/collectors spot. On opening night I saw a statue/figure I really had wanted that would fit nicely in as a part of my collection. Will have to come back when I get the chance. On the night of their grand opening there was a signing for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman comic books. If they are familiar with holding special signings and other events I can see many locals coming here. Nice thing is there is plenty of parking within the near ACE Home Improvement parking lot, which is also next to Slaters 50⁄50. Just to give a general idea of where Comickaze is located.
