Denny’s

Good meal, personable service. My food was brought to my table very hot and nice. I’ve had Denny’s service before at other locations and my food was kind of cold. Parking was easy too. I like this place.

It’s a great standby place to eat. We like to come here before I drop my husband off at the airport, which is a mile or so away. The place is clean, the service top-​notch and the food is tasty. They also have gluten-​free muffins, which is cool for my husband.

Came in on a Thursday afternoon. The waiters were super friendly cracking jokes and recommending some good food. The meal was delicious, the price was really cheap and they kept the coffee full!

This might have been the worst Denny’s I Have ever been to. Our waitress was rude, short & wouldn’t even look at us when taking our order. The food was put together poorly and tasted very greasy. I never have high expectations when walking in to a Denny’s, but this was by the worst experience I have had to date.

They have 2 waitresses on a Saturday night

Denny’s for breakfast.
Never had a bad Denny’s breakfast. I’m sure it’s bound to happen one of these days, but when it comes to bacon and eggs they can do no wrong in my eyes.

Last time I was here, not too long ago, i was kind of disappointed. The plates, cups, and plastic glasses we were served with were really old looking. The utensils looked all scratched and old as well. That along did mot allowed me to enjoy my food.

The other night me and a large party, taking up a whole row and booths on the end went to Denny’s for dinner. This was my first time going to this location and our server Ronald did an amazing job meeting all of our needs. The food came out quickly, and hot. Ronald conversed with us, and had a smile on his face the whole time he served us. He seemed happy to be doing his job, which made me feel very comfortable and now I’m convinced to go back. The 2,4,8 + dollar menu was also really great allowing us to share and try different menu items. Thanks so much for this experience I haven’t had a good one in a while, even in 5 star fancy restaurants.

Five stars for service, and three for the OK food. The food wasn’t bad, mind you, about standard for a decent Denny’s. The service was really great, though. The place was cleaner than most, too. I’d come again.

I have not been in a Dennys in over 20 years, as there are none where I live and I tend not to go to chains. I was delightfully surprised. The coffee, both mild and dark roast were very good as was the food. Service was good too.

Always excellent service. The staff at this Denny’s is always friendly day or night! I’m a believer in excellent customer service. This is the only Denny’s we go to. The food always taste good as well! Definitely recommend!

The food was really good and more than enough. Our server was busy so I understood that she couldn’t totally attend to us. I’m huge on service too. I had lumberjack slamZ the reason for the 3 stars were due to the flies all around us. I know it’s hard to control but 1 fly landed on my toast. I put that aside right away besides the flies, food and service was decent

Ahhhh… Denny’s… open ²⁴⁄₇ to tend to all of your cravings and hungry/​hangry needs. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner… anytime you please. This location seemed nice and clean. The manager guy or whoever was up front could have been friendlier. He did walk around asking how everyone was doing. Although, he didn’t seem sincere and only seemed like he had to do it because it’s part of his job description. Our waiter was nice and provided quick service.
We went during lunch time, but ordered items off of their breakfast section of the menu. We shared the French Toast Slam (2 slices of french toast, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 sausages) and the Original Grand Slam (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages). Our food was delicious! Our favorite was the FRENCH TOAST. Both the pancakes and french toast were fluffy, buttery, and yummy in our tummies. Eggs were cooked to order. The bacon and sausages helped to complete the meal. It would be a plus if the slams came with hash browns, as well.
We love Denny’s. They’re always a great place to grab a quick meal whether you eat in or order to-​go.

The food it’s Denny’s…
Normally I avoid Mondays Tuesdays but my schedule has changed… Missing my favorite servers Precious and Martin. The other server… She doesn’t listen and is rushed always and talks about her coworkers to customers… Ugh! Today I get her lucky me! I’m asking for the blueberry pancakes breakfast but want the scrambled eggs whites and turkey bacon… She interrupts me to tell me what she thinks she hears… After saying what I want she walks away annoyed… Excuse you who the hell is the customer!
Guess what I’m not ashamed to say no tip!
She was my cashier too… She asked for the tip… No tip and yes I want my discount too!

I came in about 1:36 AM, I am staying at a near by hotel and nothing else is open to eat at this time of night. The place is clean and quiet, the average Denny’s this time of night I suppose.
Bathrooms were clean, staff was curious and the food came out promptly for take out.
I’d definitely come back here again if I’m in the area this time of night and need a place to eat.

Why? Why does it take 30 min to take my order when you’re not busy? Then take another 30 to cook? Not a great place on the customer service side of things. Then the regular grease covered food you would expect from Denny’s.

Probably the best Denny’s I’ve been too. And I usually do not like Denny’s.
The service was good because the waitress was loveable and you couldn’t reprimand her. She forgot some things and messed up orders, but we seriously didn’t care.
I had the veggie burger with seasoned fries and holy shit who would’ve known Denny’s has like the best French fries in the world? They were perfectly seasoned and really nicely fried. The veggie burger just tasted like all frozen veggie patties and it was alright.

I’ll give this Denny’s * * * A-​OK solid good and recommended ratings for varied reasons, less about the food, more about other factors which I think makes this a great restaurant option for the area.
It’s located in the Shelter Island area of San Diego, local to the hotels/​motels conveniently to even walk to.
It’s open extended hours.
It’s a cheaper more affordable dining option for folks in the area.
It’s also located off of the freeway/​highway on/​off ramp conveniently for travelers.
The service was fast and friendly.
Denny’s has predictable pricing and food quality.
In one breath, some may say * * * is a bad review, but * * * is defined as A-​OK which sounds good to me. I see a lot of * * * * * five star reviews for this place, and it’s not that they don’t deserve it, but rather I personally reserve the * * * * four and * * * * * five star reviews when there’s a remarkable experience.
That’s sort of academic in rating chain restaurants, especially of the fast food or diner variety.
This is a very reliable place, nothing dynamically special about it that makes me a fan where if I ever were craving it i’d make a special point or trip to come back to, but in the same breath, if I were conveniently in the area, I’d definitely consider returning as I had a very pleasant experience here.

I’ve come here to this location many times for breakfast and there is usually no issues. Food is always quick and fresh. There are too many hobos hanging in here though. Other than that it’s never really busy. I do miss how they used to give you some extra milk shake in the silver cup. Mmmm shakes.

The service at this Denny’s is impeccable, always.
I have a client that loves it here, we’re here 3 sometime 4 times a week.
The food is good, place is always clean. But it’s the service that really makes the place!
