Absolutely LOVE this truck. Dan & Kim are an amazing team! Probably the best chicken caesar salad I have ever had! Also the Brisket and veggie sandwich and their portobello fries are addicting! My only complaint is that I can not order the entire menu and eat everything in one sitting!

Nom nom nom nom this truck is amazing. We had the chicken tortata and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were amazing and extremely filling. Both sandwiches with sides was only 24 $ you really can’t go wrong. My need to feed was extremely satisfied and I may still be full an entire day later. I can’t wait till they come back to our development. Their food was so good they sold out in an hour and a half!

DKLOCALKITCHEN catered my wedding. I can’t say enough good things about these two, Daniel and Kim. They made ALL of my wedding guests so happy! Everyone was taken aback by how great the food was! We had 140 guests and they worked so hard to get the food out in a timely manner. We wish we could eat this food everyday! It is simple, yet so unbelievably delicious. We are so happy for the service we received and would recommend them to anyone planning on having a food truck at their wedding. TRUSTME, it was a hit! Your guests will way rather eat good food than a traditional steak, fish or veggie dinner!

Some of the best french fries available from a food truck, the Chicken Torta is delectable as well.

This truck features a super friendly couple who serve an amazing veggie sandwich for only $ 8. Of all the food trucks that come to my work, this one is my favorite. The food is fresh, local, healthy, tasty, convenient, reasonably priced, and the service is superb.

This truck periodically comes to my work off Carmel Mountain Road and was curious about their food. They pride themselves on local foods and it certainly shows. Menu has fresh and seasonal offerings. What I Had: Slow roasted brisket sandwich The Good: Local menu is nice — not enough restaurants offer this, let alone a food truck Baguette was cooked to perfection, nice and flaky on the outside and soft inside The toppings added the tangyness I wanted — if you do not like pickles, then do not get this dish. Beef was cooked right and was tasty; it was not rubbery or dry! The Bad: Price — spending $ 10 just for a small sandwich may not be worth it Sides are overly expensive The sandwich was a bit too greasy for my liking and they used a spread that simulated mayonnaise it seemed but was not on the list of ingredients I liked this food truck but my issues are with the cost. There is simply not enough for what you get. If you look at other restaurants such as Urban Plates or Tender Greens you get much more and also support local farmers. Suffice to say you are paying for convenience.

This was the first time I saw this truck here at University City EdUCate’s Food Truck Wednesdays. Our group had the Caesar Salad with Pork Belly, Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken, Portobello Fries, and French Fries. I had the pork belly. It was the perfect addition to the Caesar salad. And the Portobello Fries? I generally hate mushrooms, but not tonight. Also, I have grown accustomed to not the best customer service at these events, but not this truck. Very nice and very appreciative. I am a fan. Hope to see them here again.

DK Local stop by our corner of the world once a week, and I look forward to it. First — Price is ok. I wonder if I’m getting old, or if it’s because it’s SoCal, but food trucks around here seem to be on the pricy side. I regularly drop over $ 10, and I’m not getting a 3-course meal. Second — Flavor is delish! I am a huge fan of their roasted veggie sandwich. It even has cauliflower(a veggie I typically can’t stand), and makes it nummy. With their zesty lemon-herb goat cheese and fresh aioli, it’s consistently a winner. I’ve also tried: DK Caesar — standard salad. The crispy pork belly was an interesting departure, but the flavor can be too much after a while. French fries — good, solid food truck fries. I love how they are crispy and fluffy, and I totally polish off a whole order with my sandwich.

Truck was at our apartment complex and it being a Fri night with nothing in the fridge, decided to give it a try. Was definitely worth it. Got the spicy pork sandwich with regular fries. Ooh whee, had to pick out the sliced chiles as it was just a little too hot for me but dang was it good. I could eat their pickled pineapple just by itself. Meat was wonderful, nicely seasoned, juicy, and done to perfection. Fries were amazing, downside is they were too salty for my taste but no biggie, next time I’ll just ask for them naked, no salt. Glad I gave them a try, can’t wait for them to return and try their beef brisket sandwich. If they show up in your area, GO, you won’t be disappointed.

OK so I’ve eaten at many food trucks since moving to California and they have all been hit or miss. But when I ran across these guys at a food truck gathering in La Mesa I have to say they were a HIT. They steer clear of the food truck«norm» of tacos and«fancied up» grilled cheese, hot dogs or sliders and offer up a truly unique menu. All items are localy sourced, I thought that was awesome. But how was the food… I mentioned earlier that they where a hit right?! I had the brisket and portobello fries, and they were delicious. Wait time was more then acceptable and what made it even better than Daniel and his wife Kim were extremely friendly and personable, making the experience just that much better. Do I recommend DK Local Kitchen to other food truck enthusiasts. YES! And more importantly I recommend DK Local Kitchen to anyone who enjoys good food.

When searching the land for veggie sandwiches I’m often disappointed. Most toddlers can be more inventive than most of what I’m seeing out there. Tomatoes, onions, cheese and avocado does not inspire me to spend $ 8 on a sandwich. Thankfully DK Local Kitchen nailed it with their veggie sandwich. I had a good feeling as I galloped over to the truck that a truck with the name«local kitchen» in the title would probably care about their food, and their truck mural looked like it was designed by a graphic designer from this decade. I look for the following in my veggie sandwiches, starting with the most important: 1. Size 2. Tastiness 3. Unique ingredients 4. Under $ 9 5. Healthy They made a beautiful juicy sandwich with breaded portabello, zucchini sliced thick, cauliflower and goat cheese. I was expecting a light box like food trucks usually hand out, but this one came in at around 2 lbs with a side of fries. The fries killed it as well. Very impressed.

We stopped by for lunch when we saw DK on the side of Rio San Diego Dr. And omg we were not disappointed. It’s amazing! We had the pork belly Caesar salad and the slow-roasted brisket sandwich. Both we’re totally delicious; the homemade dressing made the Caesar and the pickled veggies on the sandwich were a delicious touch! Yum!

Decided to try the food out because it was parked outside of my apartment and I’m a huge fan of food trucks. I’m so glad I did because the food is AMAZING. I had Portobello fries and the spicy pork sandwich. My goal is to try everything on the menu at least once.

Quality fresh ingredients with a zing! I had their DK Roasted Veggie sandwich, which consisted of roasted zucchini and cauliflower/crispy buttermilk portobello fries/lemon herb goat cheese/local baguette. OMG. Everything was done to perfection, from the french baguette to the lemon herb sauce! There were so many flavors and textures exploding in my mouth. Highly recommended!

DK Local Kitchen stopped by our apartment complex the other night and I was a bit worried when I saw no one in line. Walking up to the truck a quick glance at the menu and I was already pretty excited. Clean, simple and for the most part very unique items that I haven’t really seen on other food trucks. I decided to go with the roast brisket sandwich and a side of portobello fries. Order was taken quickly and food came out pretty quick too. The sandwich was awesome, the brisket was cooked quite well, paired perfectly with an apple aioli sauce, and the whole thing just melted in you mouth. The side of portobello fries was fantastic! First off, they’re coated in panko crumbs which give the mushrooms an amazing crunch, topped with the blue cheese sauce to dip in sealed the deal for me. Can’t wait to have them come back to try them again!

From the perspective of a lowly bar manager… DK Local Kitchen came out to our wine & craft beer bar last night(Next Door in La Mesa), and they were a HIT! Nearly every guest who walked through our doors couldn’t resist the delicious menu — even those who had just come from dinner. Eventually I had to try it out myself. Let me just tell you: the Portobello Fries are OFFTHEHOOK! I could have put down about 10 orders of those. Between the perfectly seasoned batter, the panko, the blue cheese sauce(which I could drink)… YUM! I also tried their grilled veggie sammich(yes, partially because it contained said portobello fries), and brisket sammich. You won’t be disappointed! Owners Daniel & Kim are a delight to work with, and we look forward to having them as regulars in our Food Truck Friday rotation. Thank you, thank you!

While I was out drinking in Little Italy with one of my close friends from out of state and i saw this little gem of a food truck,(im a HUGE foodie) so im always on a quest for the best food trucks, and in San Diego county has some of the best i have had. The service was incredibly friendly, despite how busy they were,(outside the Aero Club Bar) They made me feel like they really cared about the food they made, and the quality, they answered my normal questions regarding ingredients, style and portions with a smile on, service was GREAT, to say the least. But, this is a food truck, so lets cut to the chase shall we? i ordered the portobello fries and a spicy roasted pork sandwich and my friend ordered the slow roasted beef brisket sandwich. Where do i begin? the flavor of the fries batter was PHENOMENAL and the spicy roasted pork was incredibly tender, hot and juicy. The pickled red onion and pineapple made this a truly unique experience, and the local baguette was the perfect consistency match for the pork. You can tell that the chef carefully selected the flavors. A lot of time went into this sandwich. My buddy ordered a slow roasted beef brisket sandwich, gave me a quick bite and the damn thing nearly melted in my mouth it was so tender. and again, the pickled carrot and zucchini made this a mix of flavors that matched beautifully! All of this for around $ 20 too, just fantastic. Overall i would highly recommend this truck to anyone, foodie or not! i know ill be searching for it next time i’m out in Downtown San Diego. My only regret is not getting a brownie.
