I lived in Jacksonville, Florida for 15 years and was a regular at the Cassat Ave store… Love the Hook and ladder. Great to see your now in San Diego… I love this sandwich shop, take advantage of the many choices of hot sauces around. Steamed sandwiches who would have thought?

Firehouse Subs is the best sandwich franchise I know. Better than Subway, Quiznos, Jersey Mikes, etc. Their bread is soft and plenty of meat. They have a great Cola machine for drinks. The guys there are great. My boyfriend just loves it when we go there.

Delicious subs! Got a nice post workout meal here! I got the sriracha beef and it was tasty! Not drenched in sauces and extras it didn’t need, it was straight to the point with beef, sriracha, cheese, lettuce, and onion. Got it on a wheat roll which was also good. Their house sauce is the bomb, sweet and spicy! Will def eat here again!

Went here for lunch last week with a friend. I had never heard of this place and my friend had, but she had never tried it. I was pleasantly surprised; I love that feeling! I had the meatball sandwich and it was delicious. Wish I would have ordered a large. They have one of those really cool beverage machines where you have a gazillion choices, even flavored water in it! service was very good and the place was clean too. I will be coming back. Oh, by the way, I can never have a meatball sandwich from Subway again.

Food is good but toaster was broken. The lady that brought us our sandwiches basically threw on the table. Fuck this place. Jersey Mikes has the customer service and good food. Rude and assholes. Never again at this place.

This was my first time at Firehouse and I had a very hard time deciding on which sandwich I wanted since they all sounded amazing! I decided to go with the Hero sub with no mayo or tomato. I was a little concerned that my sub would be dry since there wasn’t really anything on it that would provide a lot of moisture. While I was waiting for my food, I took a good look at their extensive collection of hot sauces.(They also sell those hot sauces in store! It’s like a hot licks up in there) I also had difficulty choosing a hot suace but decided on a darker habanero. The sandwich came out nice and toasted with the cheese perfectly melted over the deli meat. The bread was delicious and perfectly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sandwich was really good and not dry at all! I decided to add habanero hot sauce to give it a little heat and that made the sandwich perfect! I was so sad when I finished my sandwich because there was none left to enjoy… fat kid problems haha. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only criticism I have is that my pickle spear was so cold it was frozen… Overall loved it and will definitely be coming back again.

I had the club on a sub. Great sandwich!!! The bread was crispy(I had the wheat) great service and the meat was hot and moist. I would recommend the club on a sub if you eat here. The place is small but very clean and the employees are nice and helpful. Their coke machine has over a 100 drinks to choose from. I’ll definitely be back for another sandwich in the near future. Great job guys!!!

Came here for an early lunch since we were in the area. I ordered an Italian sandwich combo with Funyuns chips and a drink. I got an 8 inch. I got wheat bread. The bread was so soft. The meats were tasty. The sandwich was better than Subway. For my drink, I got an orange cream Hi C. I was really hungry and finished my food. Sandwiches are made fresh. However the lettuce falls out easily as they use shredded lettuce. Hubby had the turkey sandwich and daughter had the meatball sandwich kids meal. They have a kids menu. I absolutely love this place. There’s two big screen televisions inside. There’s a lot of tables inside as well. There’s a Coke fountain machine and iced tea fountains. I love Coke products. They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from not just sodas. I favor the juices. The orange vanilla is my favorite from the Coke fountain. This place is awesome! The ladies working here were nice. No table service but they bring out your sandwiches for you. Place is clean and kid friendly. I love how places are kid friendly cause I have a daughter. There are even high chairs for the little babies. This place is located in a shopping center near Von’s. I highly recommend trying this place out! Awesome sandwiches!

We’ve been wanting to check this place out for a while now. Upon entrance, we were welcomed with a friendly greeting and the menu was explained to us since it was our first time. It’s a good size place with several tables and seats indoors. Just like the name, the theme of the décor is a firehouse… they have firefighter suits, helmets, ladders, and even tables with dalmatian print. The menu is full of various choices of hot and cold sandwiches. There’s also a 500 calories and below section of the menu that looks really good, as well. They have the touch screen soda machine in which you can choose almost any drink that you desire. If you like hot sauce, they have a huge selection that is heat indexed from 1 — 10. We decided to share the #3 — New York Steamer and made it large so it was enough for 2 people. The sandwich was definitely tasty… filled with good portions of corn beef brisket, pastrami, provolone, deli mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing… and the bread was nice and soft. We made it a meal, which came with a bag of chips and a drink. Don’t know why we didn’t try this place out sooner! We’re looking forward to coming back to try more of what they have to offer.

Eh, Looking for something easy and different for dinner, my husband and I head over to the Vons shopping center on Midway for some firehouse subs. It was hot, and I wanted to eat something that would avoid contributing to my rising body temperature. The place was empty on a Monday evening except for some bro’s wrapped in colorful towels being entirely too loud. Comes with the neighborhood I suppose. I ordered the highly recommended cheese brisket. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t wow’ed. Now there are many sandwich places dotted all over the city. It’s my opinion that the wow factor is necessary to set yourself above the rest. I likened my sandwich to togo’s meets arby’s. It’s very possible that this just doesn’t match my tastes. If I want a warmer sandwich, I’ll probably head to Gaglione’s. If I want a cool fresh sandwich, I’ll probably end up at Con Pane.

Super fan of their brisket sub. Get it, you won’t regret it! The meat is so moist and flavorful, bites melt in your mouth. If you are craving a sub, this is a place that is worth your time. Check them out. Get the meal, that pickle is the right balance for your taste buds.

Went here today 3−21−15 after some shopping and was quite tired and hungry. I got the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket and my girlfriend Pam got the hook and ladder sub. The subs are really good. The bread is nice and soft and the service is great. Couldn’t be nicer. This is my first time here. The smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket was a drippy mess but very good and flavorful and the hook and ladder sub was really good. The bread was soft and the sweet ham and turkey had a good taste that blended well together. One of the better subs that I’ve had in a long time. The meals are a bit pricy(a little over $ 20) for the two of us. I had an 8″ brisket meal plus a cookie, while Pam had the full size hook and ladder sub. All in all it was a good meal and a nice treat after a long day of shopping. I would definitely come here again!

I first learned about FireHouse subs this past weekend when I was in Yuma for my sons baseball tournament we were looking for a quick bite to eat between games. I ate my sandwich and told myself either I was starving or that was the best sandwich Ive ever had. I remember telling my son too bad we don’t have a FireHouse Subs in San Diego. Which brings me to today. While at work I was pondering on what to have for lunch when I was saying to myself I wish there was a FireHouse Subs. So I went to the website and low and behold there are 2 FireHouse Subs within my area. I was stoked. Being I had to time it out perfect to drive the 10 minutes get my sub and get back to the office I decided to place my order online. I ordered the FireHouse Hero, Roast Beef, Turkey, Honey Ham, and melted provolone served Fully Involved. Fully Involved includes: Mayo, deli mustard, lettuce tomato, onion and a kosher dill pickle on the side. You can add or subtract items from your sandwich and the online system is very user friendly. I removed the tomato and onion and added Jalapeño, black olives and diced pickles. When I arrived at the store my order was ready. I got back to work and my sandwich was made just like I had asked via the online ordering system. The Sandwich was delicious just like I remember it being the first time I tried it. I will say that you can let the sandwich sit or the bread will get soggy. I’m a very picky Sandwich eater, I used to be the GM of a few Subway Stores so I’m a sandwich snob. I don’t like Subway because its«not fresh», Quiznos tends to burn 99% of their sandwiches and Jerseys Mikes has been my go to in town but after trying out FireHouse Subs I will gladly drive the 10 miles for a delicious fresh sandwich. When your in the shop you can see the large whole meats sitting in the cooler before they are sliced fresh unlike the others that thaw their meat out and say its fresh. You cant go wrong here. My son loves the FireHouse meatball. I cant wait to turn family and friends onto this place and keep this franchise going. Sorry Jersey Mikes but I found my new spot

Last Sunday, early afternoon, I was out running errands(aka. restocking my alcohol supply at the nearby BevMo) and had the urge for a sandwich to hold me over until dinner. After consulting the trusty Unilocal application, Firehouse Subs became the closest contender. I was immediately greeted by two or three of the employees when I walked in. I really liked that. It didn’t sound mechanical, either. My initial impressions were«wow, this place is clean!!!» The inside was spotless. Loved it. The menu offers a lot of options, and most of the subs from what I could ascertain come in either a small or large. My gut reaction was to order a large, but I decided to be more conservative and ordered the small version of The Engineer($ 6.29). The Engineer is one of their hot specialty subs that is constructed with turkey breast, Swiss cheese, mushrooms, and all of the other«works» that I asked them to include. I also included a small drink with the order. The drinks are dispensed from one of those new machines that can produce up to 120+ options. I don’t like carbonated drinks, and I ended up, unknowingly, choosing an option that was carbonated. That wasn’t the fault of Firehouse, but, rather, it’s the inevitability with automation I suppose. I felt bad for having to waste it, but after two sips of this carbonated, watered-down cherry concoction, I was done. The Engineer was delicious! I loved the fresh-tasting turkey, and the melted Swiss complimented it beautifully. Are there hot sauces available? I don’t know, but I couldn’t help but think that I would have liked a little heat to my sandwich. Nevertheless, I would certainly order it again. Next time, the LARGE version. Ovearll, Firehouse does the job by satisfying the need. It serves the purpose well.

While looking for a quick and easy bite for lunch, I turned to my trusted Unilocal app for help. When I came across Firehouse Subs, we elected to give them a try. Walking in, we were greeted promptly and the menu explained. We were also told about all the different hot sauce options we could later add to our sandwiches if we wished. After placing our orders and later trying their sandwich, all I can say is: they make a pretty mean spread.
