Looks like Gourmet China is now closed. I stopped by after work today and the lights were off and the sign wasn’t lit. Sad… I really liked this place too.

This place isn’t fancy. And I’ll be honest I have never actually eaten AT the restaurant. But I definitely order take out. The food is made to order and is consistently very good! Some dishes are a little different then you receive at other chinese restaurants but due to the fact that they are always fresh and made to order I still really enjoy their food. I have been sick on the couch all day and this evening my husband was sweet enough to order a large Egg Drop Soup to go. It really hit the spot and I highly recommend. Thank you.

I love the fried rice. I come here to get just the vegetable fried rice for my 3 kids all the time. I ask for it without onions not because the onions are bad but because my kids like it without the onions.

if you are looking for cheap Chinese food in the 4S/RB area, this is your place. The employees are incredibly nice. The portions are a lot, so I would recommend sharing or getting a 1 item entrée, but i work in the area, so this may be a new haunt for me.

Our to-go Chinese fast food place that reminds us of Panda Express– we like their chow mein, chow fun, and mei fun. TIP: Order your food fresh to-go. We really like their chow mein and chow fun, when they’re cooked well. Unfortunately, the food is rather inconsistent, and that is the reason for the average-3 star review. Sometimes the food is pretty good(4 stars), other times, it’s either too salty, too oily, or very skimpy in terms of vegetables and/or tofu(2 stars).

Service is great. Portions are HUGE! Price is good(tip: just get the single entrée, it will be more than enough). However, I’d just give the food average. It’s Panda Express(or maybe a bit under) quality wise. My optometrist is near by and I go here when I’m not feeling like Mexican. So if you’re in the area and looking to gorge on some Chinese I’d recommend this place.

Good food and good prices. My wife is very picky when it comes to noodles and she loved this place. everything is freshly cooked for you. Not much visual appeal but you can’t go wrong

Decent, reasonable Chinese food. Good for lunch. Their loaded Wonton soup is above average. Very good change of pace instead of the average Chinese dishes for these kind of places. People working here are very nice and the place is clean. They have a good range of food to try with a few different dishes from the usual for these kind of places. I’ll be back again. Nice to have a place like this for the location.

There’s a few pros and cons about this place PROS: –large portions –cheap lunch specials –cheap combos served all day –fast service –cooked made to order — decent food quality CONS: –stale fortune cookie –the family meal is 23.95(which is fine) but when you order shrimp, they’ll add $ 2.25 which is nowhere stated in the menu –beware of using % coupons. I had a 15% off coupon and applied it to the family meal valued at 23.95. He tells me the new total after 15% is 23.50. I said, «That’s 15%?!» He then recalculated without using a calculator and said«22.05.» I should have checked his math again(that was error on my part) because immediately after paying, it still didn’t sound right. I calculated 15% of 23.95 and it came out to 3.59 discount. My correct total should have been 20.36. And on top of that, I even tipped $ 1(even when ordering to go). So I was charged 1.69 over plus I shouldn’t have tipped for incorrect math 2x! Food is decent — just like people said, like Panda express, although for made to order orange chicken, i would have hoped it would be crispier, but the garlic chicken was good. I would consider ordering from them again because of the location to where I live and because they give lots of food and they have reasonable prices, but next time, I’ll check my math if I am using a coupon!

Gourmet China reminds me a lot of China One in Fontana. except it’s not as good. Gourmet China is cook-to-order Chinese Fast Food. They have a good variety of items to choose from. The food isn’t THAT bad. but it’s not great. and I honestly prefer the flavors I get from China One in Fontana much more. I’ve had the Gourmet Won Ton soup and the Shrimps in Lobster Sauce and the house Fried Rice. that was A LOT of food for one person. even a prego oinker like me! The Shrimps and Lobster sauce was a little too soupy than what I’m used to. it’s a SAUCE. not a SOUP. The Won Ton Soup was a little too salty for me too. but the contents were all great in it. I was satisfied. Overall. it’s better than Panda Express. so I will probably keep coming here when hunger calls.

Haven’t gotten any food items here, but just for the Hot and Sour soup, they get 5 stars. I have to say this is thee best Hot & Sour Soup I’ve ever had. They make everything fresh when you order. this even means their basic soups. Most restaurants keep it sitting in a large pot/warmer throughout the day, but not here. And you can really taste the difference. Sooo yummy! I know different restaurants have their own variation, but Gourmet China makes the perfect version of Hot & Sour Soup, from the freshness down to the ingredients. Although I don’t actually eat here, I’ve been here with people who do. They have a large variety of entrees and their 1 – 2 item combos are pretty cheap ranging from about 5 – 6 bucks.

Gourmet is a little of an overstatement. It may be in a very nice area of town, so nice that gas is about 20 cents more than average. I also need to mention that the lady running the phone and cashier was very nice. Good communication skills and requests what other things you need for your order like more utencils, hot sauce, soy sauce, sweet n sour sauce on the side, etc. The food has room for improvement. Ordered soup, sweet and sour pork, and crispy beef. Soup was okay, little on the bland side. Crispy beef was more chewy than crispy. Sweet and sour pork was actually pretty good, not too heavy not too sweet. Again, far from gourmet but does the trick if you want the«fast food» version.

Gourmet china, you were hard to find. For other Unilocalers, it is located to the right of that fruity yogurt place. There werent many people there for a saturday night, at first I thought they may have been closed. The cream cheese wontons are bomb. Very fresh and the cream cheese was sweet. I ordered the 2 combo plate with garlic shrimp and beef and mushrooms with chow mein. The chow mein was good, reminiscent of the noodle at great kahns, only more dry. Unfortunately the beef to mushroom ratio was partial to the mushrooms and I wish there was more shrimp. I dont usually care for red peppers. They gave us a lot of food. All in all, better than panda, fresh, but not to die. Although I would go back.

Gourmet China is where me and my wife go for our Chinese take-out cravings. The food is priced well, big portions, made to order — quickly, and tastes good! The staff is also so nice too It’s no P.F. Changs, but I’ll take it over Panda, pick up sticks, and even Pei Wei. Great place to grab some quick and fresh Chinese food if you are passing by.

People, people… «decent, cheap food» is NO excuse for three stars. That’s way too generous. I proudly give this place ONE full star. I agree with one of the previous reviews that it tastes like they cook all dishes with the same sauce. Everything taste the same and bland. This is one of the worst wanna-be chinese take out I’ve ever had. The Chow Mein didn’t taste like anything! The Beef and Broccoli had the LOWEST of the line beef(couldn’t even chew it) and LOWEST of the line veggies(like the bottom of the barrell left over stems of veggies) The Orange Chicken was stale as hell. I felt so nauseous after eating it and was so disappointed in this business that it is actually a business. Panda ANYDAY over this place. How’s that for a review?

First let me say this — this is NOT authentic Chinese food. BUT being un-authentic doesn’t automatically make it bad. Pro: Everything is cooked to order. The food comes out piping hot — which I love. The portion is very generous. I usually only order one dish and share with my fiancée. Con: SAUCEFAIL. It’s like they cook all the dishes in the same sauce or something. Most dishes have the same flavor but different meat ingredients(the veggies are more or less the same too). It’s one of those places — you go because it’s convenient and it’s not bad for the convenience.

This Gourmet or Panda or Pick-Up-Stix, all three are similar enough for my bi-weekly Chinese Fix. I can’t tell them apart except that their Hot-and-Sour tasted more like egg-drop! Still, I won’t shun them if I’m in the area. Food is cheap, and doesn’t look like a glazed heap.

Ended up in this plaza(because we were lost) and of the Subway and sushi place in said plaza, I said to my buddies hey let’s try Gourmet China Express. There’s nothing really ‘gourmet’ about it. On the plus side they give you a LOT of food(I couldn’t even finish the single item combo). On the negative side, it’s a lot of food that tastes like very generic fast food style chinese food. Gourmet China has a made to order menu(which we didn’t take advantage of) so maybe that’s what the higher reviews are for. But I’m just not sold on this place and neither are my friends.

Like everyone else has said… it’s alright but totally better than Panda Express. My family oders take out from this place since it’s right by our house. You can order items that aren’t on the menu like beef chow fun and honey walnut shrimp. All you have to do is ask. My favs from the menu are the orange chicken and chicken with mushroom.

It’s decent, take-out Chinese food right by our house, so we end up here pretty frequently. Sometimes they have buffet selections set up(I think they always do for lunch), but we typically order from the menu. Everything is cooked to order, so it takes a few minutes, but it’s definitely worth the extra wait. The menu choices are similar to those at Panda(Americanized Chinese), but Gourmet China’s food tastes better and is fresher. So far we have tried orange chicken, beef with broccoli, kung pao chicken, pork fried rice, chow mein, egg rolls, and cream cheese wontons. Everything is always as expected and tastes good. I’m not a fan of the wontons, because of the crab content, but that’s just me. There are a handful of tables inside and out, though we’ve never eaten in before. Too bad they don’t deliver, otherwise we’d be hitting them up more often.
