I know that this is hometown buffet so I don’t really expect the food to taste spectacular. I do, however, expect my food to be cooked all the way through. My family and I came to have dinner here earlier, my dad got the baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and a dinner roll. He had a couple of bites of the chicken when I noticed there was still blood in the middle. THEYFAILEDTOCOOKTHECHICKENALLTHEWAYTHROUGH! I took the chicken and notified one of the servers that it was undercooked. All he did was take my plate. They didn’t take away the rest of the chicken that was still at the buffet. I’m assuming that was undercooked too just by looking at it. Don’t eat here if you care about your health and don’t want to get infected with salmonella.

My experience was terrible! Cold food, dirty plates, silverware, and cups and to top it off. A ROACH fell from the roof on to my son’s beverage cup. I took a picture and found the manager. I showed him that picture and a says«show me I have my guy coming and I want to show him what kind. So there is an obvious roach problem there especially if they are calling from the roof. The manager didn’t come and apologize. He sent someone else. I approached the manger with the problem at least he could have came and addresses our table. Then they offered some free passes to come back. That’s a joke! So I can come back and have more roaches fall into my food. My intital impression of the place was good until I started to really look around and it smelled like they have a serious roach problem. I wish we could give negative stars because I would give –2 stars.

Suppose to close at 9:30pm. They put away all desserts, no ice cream, before 9pm! If your going to do that, make an announcement. Should only charge half price since all your workers just want to go home.

Ok I know I’ve been to more home towns than I care to admit. Same as all my other posts. This place is great for the money. That is why the 4 stars. If they are so great then Why only 4 stars you ask. The deserts are typically very bad. They look good but not soooo. Today is an exception. I tried the bead pudding. Good job. Not great but good.

Where do you go when 18 of your friends get together for an Impromptu dinner with no reservations? You go to HomeTown Buffet. We were sending off two of our friends before they left to run the New York City Marathon and we had a large group that wanted to celebrate. We chose HomeTown Buffet since my friend loves this place, more for sentimental reasons than for the actual food. The food is nothing special, but let me in on the great part about eating at HomeTown Buffet: 1. They were able to accommodate a group of 18 people immediately with no reservation. 2. They let us set up four tables together so we could sit in a large group facing each other, taking up a large space in the dining room. 3. Our group could immediately go to the buffet and get what we wanted for dinner without having to wait for a server to take our order, then wait for all the dinners to be ready at the same time. 4. Servers pretty much left us alone to talk, catch up and they readily took dirty plates away. 5. Since you pay before you eat, we each paid for our own dinner without having to pass the bill around collecting money. Yes there are huge bonuses to eating at HomeTown buffet, but the food is not one of them. Out of the food that I did try, I must admit that the pot roast was amazing, very moist and flavorful.

Seriously. They are next to a Carl’s Junior that would of been a much cleaner choice. The food was awful. I can’t even begin to start with how horrible but even worse my shoes were sticking to the floor, the cups were greasy and the plates were plastic full of scrapes. Meaning white plates with knife marks from hundreds of uses that were dis colored. Meaning still food in crevices. Egad this was sooooooo bad. You almost have to go to believe it. I am only giving one star because it is making me.

Really good service, the manager asked if everything was in good taste and made sure his staff was doing a good job.

Totally disappointed in our visit to Hometown today! Went there for lunch and they didn’t have much to choose from. Their water tasted disgusting so I had to order a soda instead and paid $ 2.69 just for a damn drink. The only good thing I ate was their Orange Chicken, that I must say is delicious. Also the bathroom smelled so bad like sewer, their were cobwebs on the ceiling hanging down. And my mom went to get some dessert and got her favorite bread pudding to find out that it wasn’t even cooked! It was disgusting! Will not be going back to this Hometown again!

If you keep love fried chicken, this is the place to go. All I ate was fried chicken. I could not pass this up. The skin was so crispy on the outside the meat was so juicy. Dave, Dawn and Maggie are awesome. I give this place five stars for the quality and variety of foods! Thanks for this experience as I am a picky foodie!

This place just gets better and better, the salads look amazing heck all the food does. Great location with plenty of parking… and the staff you ask? AWESOME love coming here. The have really turned this place around. Definitely worth a second look is you haven’t been here in awhile. If you have never eaten at a HTB then this is the one to try for your first time :-)

Sorry, I just don’t get how this place is always so packed. Maybe cuz you want to pound tons of bland food down your pie hole? I only gave 2 stars cuz the service was terrific. I can’t imagine our waitress makes much in tips but I think she deserves to be a server at a place where she can make some good tip money. The only thing I ate that was tasty was the carrot cake dessert. The salad dressing was pretty good but the choices of salad was very weak. I won’t come back… good luck.

What brought me in here was a mailed coupon with a deal that knocked the original price down. Was it worth it? meh… This buffet style restaurant serves as much as canned, and microwaved meals as much as possible. The plenty of choices are there, but not satisfying. The workers admitted their mashed potatoes to be a powder substance instead of real potatoes, and the green beans are straight out of a can. So think about the rest. Nevertheless, kids do love buffets since they can choose many items their selves. If you come here for the free kids meals, you shouldn’t, since it’s 1) unhealthy, and 2) the kids aren’t even eating that much so you rather go to a better place(even a la carte), and give them some of the food of their parents portion since servings are huge in the U.S. Overall, their prices are only a decent when you use a couple of coupons, but after all the quality and presentation is just bad with the lack of freshness, and presentation on poorly washed plastic dishes that might be coming from a kids daycare. I’ll rather go to Souplantation or Barona in case I need a buffet.

You aren’t going to get the level of quality of Barona’s buffet, but considering its about half the price and you don’t have to drive out to the boonies, it’s good enough. The restaurant itself is fairly clean and well lit, and I’m assuming there was a recent renovation since everything felt pretty modern. The food is your basic American comfort food, ie: potatos, fried chicken, roast beef, etc so if you ever just want a cheap meal, this is your place. The only thing that really stuck out to me was the fried chicken, being crispy yet juicy at the same time. When I went during off-peak hours, I found they were slightly slow on bringing out new food to the buffet, so there were several empty stations. As it got closer to dinner, the turnaround speed was much better. So if you are tired of cooking and want a diverse meal on the cheap, head to this HTB. Definitely worth the price(~14 with coupon).

Having watched the«Undercover Boss» episode with the CEO of HB, I was curious about this place and its«carving station» so I made my husband go with me to try it. We were pleasantly surprised. For about $ 12 a person the buffet spread included a real carving station with glazed ham, prime rib, and sausage; chicken pot pie; pulled pork with potatoes(quite good), bbq sausage sautéed with onions(also good); baked and fried chicken, fried okra, sautéed corn; steamed broccoli; sautéed zucchini; baked fish; country fried steak; sirloin with mashed potatoes; green beans, etc. There were two soups«made from scratch»(the chicken noodle was pretty good), a salad bar, and a variety of desserts including a frozen yogurt bar with several toppings. All in all, worth the value and better than Soup Plantation by far for a couple bucks more. The only suggestion I’d make is to have more fresh fruit(there were pineapples and bananas only). What really stood out for me though was the cheerfulness of the staff from Sandy who greeted us and rang us up to Alex, our waiter, to Dave, the manager who checked in on us towards the end of the meal to make sure we were happy and to invite us back for breakfast with their omelette bar. I’m not going to lie. It doesn’t beat a home-cooked meal but it is better than Souplantation in that they have a lot more to offer and the staff is friendly. Bottom line, if you want soup and salad, go to Souplantation for more options of both, but if you want actual food, come here instead and get your money’s worth.

Without the price factor, I’d give 3.5 stars but for a $ 13 buffet dinner, this was terrific! Admittedly, I went at 5:00 on a Sunday so it wasn’t crowded but even so, it was really nice to see the food replaced regularly, the tables cleared of used plates promptly, and a pleasant demeanor from each of the staff I came across. I tried a little bit of a lot of their food. First, the carving station. They had roast round of beef, «real» ham, and turkey breast. The carved roast beef was nicely medium rare and tasty. The ham had a nice smoky flavor to it that was distinct but not overpowering. Unfortunately, I got full before trying the turkey. For the price, it’s incredible that they have any sort of sirloin steak at all but they do. Several slices served over potatoes. You’ll probably have potatoes left over after eating the steak slices but the au gratin potatoes were REALLY good and made a good starch for the roast beef and the ham. Chicken pot pie is a new item and is really good. The crust is nicely flavored without being too salty. The stew inside is better than the frozen stuff. At least as good as the one from KFC, which I really like. The BBQ sausage is probably one of their cheaper entrees but I really enjoyed it. The sausage was flavorful but not too salty or too greasy. The BBQ sauce was mild so it didn’t overpower the sausage — and they didn’t use too much of it. The regular fried chicken was very good — tasty and juicy — but the boneless chicken tenders were kind of dry. I didn’t have room for dessert so I can’t comment on them even though the friendly manager said I should definitely try something. Be sure to join their email list for discount offers, which I took advantage of on this visit.

I wouldn’t usually review a place like this, but after a recent footgolf round at Tecolote Canyon, we didn’t see many other local options. The food was averagely awful. Little stood out as even above average. The taco bar had mealy, gross«beef». The chili was salty. The fried chicken was dry. So why review this place? I have to say that the waitress we had was the most eager, enthusiastic waitress I’ve ever seen, let alone seen working at a chain buffet. The drink bar was also exceptional. Not only did it have the normal soda options, they had a Jarritos machine so I could get horchata, and they had an Icee machine with multiple flavors. For a $ 9 lunch, you could probably do worse than this — at least go for the Icees. Also, build more restaurants here for post-footgolf meals. Get to work Mayor Faulconer.

From the management to the food, today experience was great. They have changed some of the dishes by giving them an «upgrade» presentation. Instead of each person serving their desired portion, now they can grab a small casserole or a plate with the item. This idea is not bad, although, if you want just a «taste» of something you have to grab the entire plate. If you don’t like it, it goes to waste.
