After grabbing a quick lunch with my co-worker, we ran into this boutique store on our way to Starbucks. Jacques LeLong didn’t have much variety clothing(more basic items), but they do carry tons of colors of one type of clothing. The store reminds me a bit of a glorified asian clothing store with a fancy name and higher prices(location, location, location!). I didn’t purchase anything since they do not carry anything smaller than a size small. However, my friend went to town with purchasing several tops. The shoe selections seem to be more on the higher end, though. I could tell from the quality and design. Would definitely come back here for shoes…

Great prices for those very cool wrap dresses Diane von Fursterberg type! Less than $ 40 for very flattering to all body type dresses is just amazing. I was not expecting these kind of prices in posh Torrey Hills-Carmel Valley area. Shoes and boots from Brazil, handmade and of the highest quality leather are fantastic, and of course you should be generous with your wallet in that sense, as quality costs $, but these booties will last forever(I have several pairs of boots made in Brazil for a decade now and still in prime condition). Cute boutique overall, not too many accessories on the jewelry side, but I think the best asset here are those dresses and the shoes.

As we all know, maxi skirts are this year’s yoga pants & this store is a convenient means to this suburban mom wardrobe staple. While all the boutiques in Carmel Valley seem to carry the same skirts(and they are less expensive elsewhere by a couple bucks), it seems to me that Jacques LeLong has a larger variety of colors and patterns and more shirts to match. The clothes themselves are not keepers for the long haul, but pieces to wear for the season & then discard when they get all pilled up and mangy looking. For this price point, it’s not about quality, but about trend. That being said, however, there is a lot of great outfits here and cute accessories. There are a lot of cotton basics, some denim, and a lot of summer dresses. The saleslady who helped us the other night was very helpful and friendly, she also had a good eye for mixing and matching items for the right look. And as a plus, didn’t try to up-sell. Since Pure Bliss left a couple years ago, Torrey Hills has been in dire need of a new boutique. This isn’t the same, but I will shop here again.
