Thank you to Jessica & Min for rescuing my teenager’s hair! My daughter had been wanting to color her hair for quite some time now and her older decided to experiment on her! Needless to say, it didn’t turn out as expected. Jessica explained exactly what needed to be done. After many hours in Jessica’s salon & doing a great job, my daughter is very happy with her new magenta hair! She received many compliments from family, friends & strangers! I wouldn’t trust anyone else!

So my last review was me raving about Jennie and HELLO I’M STILLGOINGTORAVEABOUTJENNIE. She is SUPER bomb because she really wants for you and her to be on the same page before she gets started on your hair. I received a short asymmetrical bob cut last time and I asked for the same — just with a little bit more layers & told her I wanted to start bleaching my hair to experiment with dyes. We had to figure out how I wanted my hair to be dyed because I hated stark, blonde streaks & when you want a vibrant or light color in your hair, you need to bleach it in multiple sessions before it can hold those types of colors. I walked in a hairdye-virgin so I was like, «wut can u make my hair lavender purple plz»? Jennie is real with you and explains how much and how long it will take to get your hair a certain way & how to maintain it. She’s a true friend to you. When I walked out, I honestly felt really nervous because I’ve never had my hair a different color before. After I started getting used to it… YOoo, I’m not a hair connoisseur but I’ve never loved my hair this much before(& it’s also pretty low-maintenance!). My hair looks«blond-streaked» but surprise, I REALLY like it since it was bleached with different layerings and tones. Price-wise with bleaching, it’s cheaper than the Korean salon I used to go to and this salon spends their time on you — they’re super detail-oriented people. My hair has since grown out a bit but now I’m not sure how much more I want to dye it because I like it so much currently. ASALWAYS, THANKSJENNIE!

My friend got married last month and I was one of her bridesmaids. I decided to go for an updo and knew that I’d have to find someone to do my hair because my only hair skills involve using a hair straightener and possibly a hair tie. I searched Unilocal and came across Jessica’s Hair with all the great reviews. It wasn’t too far from either my house in Carmel Valley or the wedding venue in Carmel Mountain so I decided to give it a try. I called a few days early and found out that while the stylist who does updos doesn’t usually work on Sundays, she was willing to come in to do my hair. Big kudos for that! I arrived at the salon for my 11:30 appointment and we got started right away. I had a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like(I’ll post the side by side shot with this review) and she started by adding some hairspray to add texture to my too-smooth-and-difficult-to-style hair. We discussed how my hair doesn’t hold curl well, which was a big reason why I decided to go for an updo instead of curls, and she offered advice on what to try. I enjoyed chatting with the stylist while she placed at least 50 bobby pins in my hair in an effort to hold it all in place. When all was said and done, my hair did manage to stay in place throughout the wedding, which was impressive considering that it didn’t end until after 10PM. While I got lots of compliments on my hair style at the wedding, it unfortunately didn’t look like the photo. It’s one of those situations where had I not seen the original style in the photograph, I likely would have been just as happy with the updo but as it was, it slightly failed to live up to my expectations. I’m not sure if it’s just that my hair was difficult to work with, as I’ve heard from many stylists over the years, and that’s why she wasn’t able to do the exact style. I really wanted the braid in the photo though and was disappointed that we had to skip it.

Okay, here’s the deal. And I’m going to be straight up because I think people should know before coming into this salon for balayage. I’ve been to many different hair salons. I have also been blonde many times but I have NEVER had anyone turn my hair orange. I’ve been dying my hair blonde to brown, to blonde MANY times back and forth. The first time I came in… I left with orange roots that were straight up brassy and it ombré’d to a grey blonde at the ends. All I wanted was a rooty balayage. My hair was naturally balayage so all she needed to focus on was the blonde at the bottom. I wanted to keep my natural roots. But no I left with cheddar cheese top ramen hair. She told me to come in two weeks(TWOWEEKS?) later and she would fix it. I had a concert, school, work, and two baby showers between that time. The second time I came in, she was shocked to see me… even though I called her to reschedule to an earlier time. Whatever, she still took me in promptly. Long story short, my hair looked better than before but I am still completely unhappy. My roots are not back to black and now when it grows out I’m gonna have to pay to get redone… The reason I wanted balayage was because it would be low maintenance(at least for the roots) OH, and yeah I’m still hella brassy. Did I mention… I’m not even blonde… My hair is literally back to a grey brow. What a waste man. Tid-bit: Halfway through my appointment and inspection person came in. All of them literally stopped working on their clients to clean up and hide stuff. One of the male hair stylist even took all the tools and hid them in his car? Because all the tools were tucked away Jessica had to comb my precious hair with her fingers! Not only was my hair tugged on, she broke a lot of hair off. I’m so meticulously about my hair being combed so I can prevent damage but I had to sit through 20 minutes of her applying heat & her fingers tugging and breaking my long mane. Btw no detangler or heat protected was provided. Not sure what illegal thing they were practicing but they were scared for a ticket. Save $ 200 and don’t come here.

Jessica completely revamped and color corrected my orangey disaster. The before and after pics have not been posted but I am beyond happy that it’s calmed down to a ash brown and blended very well. Can’t wait to see the before and after! Thanks Jessica for working a miracle on my hair!

This is a simple review because I am sick of complicated, long Unilocal reviews. I went to Jessica’s once and my gal went once. Both visits were fast, reasonably priced, and they did what we asked. I have long, man hair. I just wanted my split ends trimmed and nothing else so it could continue to grow longer. They did that and nothing else. My gal has Betty bangs. She just wanted her bangs trimmed evenly. They did that and nothing else. Perfect hair cut experience!

Definite 5 solid stars! Jessica is an amazing and talented hair pro! Jessica took my hair from dreadful to Gorgeous! I had box dyed hair that was almost black, and asked if she could get me to blonde locks with a brown base. When Jessica said she would be able to do what I was asking, I was thinking I would either leave with my hair fried or an orangey disappointment. To my surprise not only did she lift my hair to the beautiful blonde I described but my hair was not damaged at all!!! I would expect to have pieces stretching the way gum does when combing, but not at all! Jessica truly cares for her clients and uses the best products to ensure customer satisfaction! I feel so lucky to have found her and I will always be a loyal customer!(As long as you don’t start jacking up the prices)… At this salon, Jenny is another talented hair guru who I’ve watched transform clients hair from frumpy to fabulous! Jenny knows how to style your hair so it compliments you perfectly! She’s awesome!!! Min is also another talented gem you’ll find at this salon. Min is like Edward Scissor Hands. Show him a picture of a style you like and he goes in with his scissors chopping away. You might be like me, thinking what the heck is he doing and freak out a lil, but then when he’s done and you look up at yourself in the mirror, you’ll think«Oh shit… He actually did it like the freaking picture!!! Now that’s talent!!! Ladies, this is the place to go if you need to get your beautification done right! I highly recommend JESSICA’S BEAUTYSALON! Thank you Jessica, Jenny and Min! You three are excellent!

I’ve been a regular for about a year. I’m happy to pay $ 12 for a bit more attention to details than $ 8 from a barber shop. However, sign outside of shop still says«Men’s haircut for $ 12» but after haircut, it caught me off guard that owner said price changed to $ 15. A little false advertising there. Regardless, men’s haircut changed from $ 10 to $ 15(50% in a year) but the service provided is still the same and wait is longer now(and men are discouraged to make advance appointments). Think I’m going back to the $ 8 barber shop.

My stylist was Jennie, she was really careful with my hair and gave me her professional opinion on what she thought she could do to my hair and keep its integrity. My hair was extremely damaged when I walked in. They really care about you at this salon, and they don’t try to rip you off either. My partial highlights with olaplex treatment was $ 165. It is CASHONLY though! Thanks Jennie.

I’m new around here(Sorrento Valley for work) and have had haircut on my To-do list for probably a month now. Time to get ‘er done! I found that this is walking distance from work and randomly saw a fellow Unilocaler I knew left a good review so wth, I’ll try it. Jennie took me immediately after her client and after me walking and waiting at most, 5 minutes. That was just good timing on my part. She was really nice, walked me through the haircut, and gave me a few pointers on how to keep curls in my stick-straight Asian hair. It was a 30 minute cut and it looks as good as my Aveda hair stylist. The difference– no hair washing included and cash only. For the ladies that can be a $ 35 haircut, so it would be something you definitely need to plan unless you’re good at keeping cash handy. I’ll be back later this year!(I’m pretty bad at getting haircuts regularly)

This place is average at best. I came in for a simple trim and toner and it cost me $ 90. Unfortunately I didn’t ask about prices when I called to check for a last minute appt but she told me straight up when I was already in the chair and about to start. Too late to leave at that point. The owner I think is the one who washed my hair and did the toner. And then passed me off to one of the guys to cut my hair. Kind of annoying when they kind of just pass you off to random people in the salon without saying anything, but whatever. Either way the cost of a trim and toner is WAY overpriced here and I wouldn’t return. The quality of the work is just alright so I’m shocked that they charge so much.

I’ve been wanting to color my hair for a few months but I never really found a salon with great reviews or pictures… I finally found this salon! I walked in and showed Jessica a few pictures and explained to her that I didn’t want something too bright or blonde. She said she understood and kept showing me pictures of what my hair would look like with certain colors, and over communicated(a GOOD thing!) with me about the layout of my hair, the colors, the brightness and what she planned to do. I never colored my hair and when I saw the results, I loved it! I did a walk-in but she said that they’re usually busy. I did call first and asked if I needed to make an appointment and she said no. But I think next time I’ll call because I don’t want to push my luck: P

First time here! I called in and asked if they were busy around noon today and they said nope so I came by. Jennie is super nice and professional! She took a super quick glance at the reference photos I showed her so I was a little worried, but then she repeated what the style was back to me and then what she planned on doing to my hair to achieve it. She did my hair in about 30 min. I had medium length long uneven hair because a friend did it for me, then she got it into the short, collarbone length bob that’s in trend again right now. I did the«no-poo» thing last year where I would use organic and natural shampoo bars instead of real shampoo to try and train my hair to produce less oil but it failed miserably and my hair ended up super heavy and gummy. I didn’t tell her this and she was like your hair is quite sticky/what shampoo do you use? She didn’t push me into buying the products at all and I inquired about it, something that’s never happened before for me at a salon(usually they pressure you into buying their stuff super hard). Jennie told me what shampoo she personally used at home, the blue Joico, then let me smell it. I told her I planned on dying my hair soon so she let me see and smell the Joico shampoo for color treated hair. I ended up purchasing that set and spent $ 70 here($ 35 cut, $ 35 shampoo conditioner set) but I’m super happy with my experience! Will be coming back =)

I love the results! Jennie did wonders with my hair! She is so awesome! All my friends love the work she did. My friend already booked her appointment for bayalage and she loves it too! My husband went to get his haircut there. The staff is so fun and friendly. It was a family atmosphere and professional at the same time. I highly recommend this place! I was in Thailand in December and got my hair done, but was unhappy with the results. I went to the Philippines in February and was really unhappy with the results. Jennie had to not only get the results I wanted, she had to correct what the other two stylists did. I wish I went to her I the first place.

Came in one day for a consultant to get a balayage done. I had no idea that it was about to be very expensive and the color I wanted was going to take a couple of sessions. My hair was two colors, black on top and blonde on the bottom before I came in. My roots started to show on the blonde so I decided that I was going to retouch my roots and go light brown on top. Although Jessica was trying to do the best she could, the brown was no where near what I wanted. It turned out to be a light auburn color which looked pretty good except the fact that its not what I wanted. The touch ups on my blonde was actually kind of bad. I have platinum blonde hair and the touch ups she did came out to a medium brown color. I really doubt that I’d be back. She’s really nice but I didn’t get what I wanted

I love Jessica’s salon! They do my hair exactly how I want it. They definitely know how to treat their clients and everyone is really good. I originally got my hair done there so I needed to get my roots touched up along with my ends to go lighter. Thank you Jennie!!!

I think the women’s hair cut is a bit expensive but men’s hair cut ranges from 12 – 15 bucks. I highly recommend making an appointment. I don’t like places who just present a range of prices and you go there and have to pay more than you expected. It’s also cash only so booooo. I mean, the employees here seem to take attention to detail but didn’t seem to understand what I wanted. Oh well, hair grows back anyways.

So I have to start off by saying I have now gotten at least one haircut from Minh, Jennie, and Jessica, and they’re all great!(My favorite is Jennie) Ladies– cut and style is $ 35 The price did go up a little bit(owner said rent has been raising every year), but that isn’t going to stop me from coming! I just got a haircut from Jennie today, and dang was she good. She was so precise with the length I wanted to be cut off. I told her 3 inches, expecting 4 inches to be chopped off because let’s be real… That happens at what? 80% of the salons?! But no… She literally was so thoughtful and constantly showed me the length and what she was doing. Throughout the cut, she not only took the time to make small talk, but also explained to me why the method in which she was cutting was the best. I’ve been getting the layered hairstyle for at least 10 years now, and I have to say, Jennie does it best. Five stars!!!

I have been thinking about getting a balayage for the longest time, and finally got around to do it. I looked everywhere on Unilocal for a good and affordable hair stylist, and found Jessica! Thank god I was able to call early in the week to make an appointment on a Friday afternoon. She was really easy to talk to and very professional. I highly suggest bringing a couple pictures of what you want your hair to look like, she gave me lots of feedbacks and helped me picked one that would suit me best. It was my first time getting my hair dyed professionally, so my hair going in had many… different colors(black mixed with dark brown). She was able to pick the best balayage color that will blend in naturally with my original color. It came out so beautiful and I absolutely love it! NOTE: BRINGCASHWHENYOUGO!
