Overall really tasty and you can tell it’s made fresh to order. The batter on the original fish taco is over powering but it’s a good bite to eat if you want cheap local food!

I have to eat at kinkos at least 1 time a week. I love love this place! The flavors and fresh seafood is never a disappointment. Go try it for yourself and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Free soup included while you wait, and great salsa!

It’s so hard to not give them 10 stars because it’s so cool how they can remember my name, remember what I love to order and always have something sweet to say. Love the people who hang out

Would you like to die and wake up in seafood food truck heaven? Well, I’ve got the key to that pearly gate right here. That would be Kiko’s Place, parked at the corner of Texas & Meade. Oh this is some good, fresh seafood. I started off with this spectacular broth-tomato based, had something that indicated it also had a seafood base(hey, I’m not a chef I just like to eat). Amazing. It was somewhat chilly out and it hit the spot. Then came the grilled shrimp taco. Served on two CORN tortillas(this isn’t Taco Bell people) with cabbage and a mayonnaise based sauce on top. That taco was loaded with shrimp-I mean packed. The very nice date that took me there(see what did I tell you-my reviews usually involve me on a date-so you’d better be nice if you take me out.) had the Marlin taco. I am not a fish person so I cannot review it, but he loved it. There’s a liquor store right there, and no, I’m not advocating open containers in parking lots, just saying there’s one in case you are on your way home and needing Kiko’s and a 6 pack…

Great variety of seafood tacos to choose from plus the free soup addition reminded me of a ton of superb mariscos trucks in South Bay. The price is decent for what you get but the truck doesn’t sell drinks of any kind, you’ll have to pop into the adjacent liquor store if you’re thirsty. Best fish taco truck north of South Bay yet friendly enough for those less inclined to venture to the south of the city where even better taco trucks lie in wait. Try out Kiko’s for a quick fish taco fix if you’re short on time & can’t make it to Chula Vista.

So we went to this food truck because we were in the LA area recently and heard that these Mariscos were to die for but we weren’t able to stop by in long beach. So when we found out that they had one here, we had to go ASAP and check out the comossion and judge for ourselves. The conclusion is this: good food, good Mariscos, but bring your own chair and a truck full of patience because they take for ever and ever plus eternity to get an order done. We are not sure if it’s that they have a lot of orders or one slow cook. So, if you have some board games and are in the area, check this place out! It’s good food!!! We ordered tostadas and oysters! Yummmmmmm!!! We wanted to try one of their specialty burrito but they had ran out of carne asada!

Best tacos ever! I got a fish taco and a spicy shrimp. It’s out of this world good! You have to wait for quite some time, but during the wait they give you free vegetable soup. It’s well with the wait. The soup is amazing.

Ordered to go just 15 minutes before closing: Took 15 minutes to get the order. Don’t assume that just because it’s «raw» food that it’ll be quick. I think there’s only one cook on the truck and it takes a while regardless of whether or not you ordered something easy to cook. freshly made tostada with: Aguachile ceviche(raw shrimp) — delicious, a vinegary fresh spicy punch! Famous Krazy: fresh and a wonderful mountainous portion.

2 for $ 3.50 — for some of the best fish tacos you’ll ever eat in town! And I am almost vegetarian. There’s one on Texas and one on Friars that I know of and it’s a religious weekly stop.

For years I have passed by Kiko’s Place on my way home from school. I was always curious about the food truck’s ability to attract a steady flow of business all day. It wasn’t until a friend brought me there two years ago that I became a regular. It can take some time to get your order, but the wait is absolutely worth it. They’ll even give you soup while you wait for your order. First comes the price. Most of the menu items cost less than ten dollars, and the portions are large for what you’re paying. As for quality, the seafood and vegetables are incredibly fresh. As someone who regularly visits Mexican restaurants, Kiko’s place is one of my favorite places to go. The OG Fish Taco is a personal favorite of mine every time I visit. 3.50 $ for two large pieces of fresh fish; battered, fried, and served with crunchy cabbage and secret sauce. Certainly a must for anyone who visits. If you don’t like seafood I would recommend changing your tastes, because seafood is something that Kiko’s Place does REALLY well. The tacos are great and the burritos are brimming with meat. Be careful with the salsas, because they don’t mess around. All in all, Kiko’s place is a must visit for any seafood lovers or lovers of Mexican food.

I spent my three week foodcation trying to find the best fish taco in SD. Thanks to a recommendation, I was able to try Kiko’s Place. Hands down the best fair fish taco. Period. The fish used was tasty, sizeable, with a great and tasty batter. The tacos were overall were equally amazing. Great salsas, fantastic tortillas. and a variety of hot sauces from mild to butt hole burning. The oyster shooters were also great, tasty, fresh, and amazingly cheap. Other offerings here were okay including the ceviche. The wonderful people staffing the truck are very friendly, happy to help, and give you tasty soup while you wait. Protip: come on by, pickup some cervezas in the shared parking lot w/the liquor store, and get your taco on.

BOMB! The truck seems to always be parked in front of the liquor shop and there’s always customers every time I pass by. They recommended to order the spicy octopus and spicy fish tacos, but turns out they were out of the spicy octopus. I ended up with the spicy mixed seafood taco, spicy fish taco, and mixed aguachiles(!!) and everything was sooooooo good. I’ve hard some trouble finding aguachiles on this side of the border. Everything was made to order and it was literally too hot to touch ~10−15 minutes later. The tacos were so big and full that I had to eat them with a fork. p. s. Careful when you eat the jalapeños b/c I was dying for like 30 minutes after 2 small bites :(

I’ve passed by this truck parked just off Texas so many times and there are always more than just a couple people waiting for their order. I figured it must be good. When I parked in the lot today to pull it up on Unilocal,my suspicions were confirmed… excellent reviews all around… and for good reason. We ordered two grilled fish tacos, a smoked marlin taco(not on the menu, soooo good) and the Krazy ceviche which is essentially every creature they have in the truck mixed into tomas and onions plus a lime and avocado garnish. Great grub at great prices; all of that came to less than 20 bucks and it was more than we needed. It’s made when you order it so it does take just a smidge longer than the Chipotle you’re used to… but it’s oh so worth the wait. Seafood and food truck don’t typically pair well but they are absolutely killing it in there. Everything from the fish to the cilantro and onions were super fresh. They even have a little clean station below the ordering window with running water, paper towels and hand sanitizer to wash and/or sanitize your hands before or after you chow down. Most folks take their food back to their car and crush it right there in the lot but we took ours to go and sat in the park instead. The cooking space of the truck itself is nearly invisible but for the tiny window to order from and a tiny window that opens up to slide food out of… it actually feels a little covert and if you hadn’t read the wildly encouraging reviews before you arrived, you’d rightfully wonder what the hell was going to come out from in there. They clearly have some sort of partnership with the liquor store so that they can park in that lot. The store makes no effort to advertise anything about what you might find inside and looks more like a shell of a business than something that is thriving. 90 percent of the traffic that enters that lot comes for the truck. It makes you wonder why they don’t just turn the corner into a restaurant instead of a liquor store that happens to have a food truck in the parking lot. All that said, food wise, this is one of the best finds I’ve come across in a long time. I’ll be back soon.

Kiko’s Place is pure Mexcellence! This may be a conventional food truck in a liquor store parking lot, but it is anything but ordinary. Everything I have tried is jam-packed with ingredients, flavor and the portions are HUGE! An actual pig would probably have leftovers. They use fresh ingredients matched with very affordable prices. Definitely recommend the spicy fish taco, regular fish taco and mixed ceviche. Food is made to order so it can take awhile to prepare. Be ready to wait upwards of 20 minutes especially if they are super busy(and they always have a line). Love that they offer free vegetable soup while you wait. They also accept credit cards and the staff is super friendly.

Since my last review from a year ago said that I didn’t quite agree that these were the best fish tacos in town, and since I now point this place out every time I drive by with a passenger and say«Those are the best fish tacos in town», I think it’s time to update that review. These are the best fish tacos in town. And it is also so much more. Their OG Fish tacos are the best beer battered tacos I’ve had anywhere. The batter is always crispy and light. The fish inside is always flaky and moist and tender — and obviously of higher quality than the frozen-fish-stick grade fish I had gotten used to from almost everywhere else. Their nearly-identical twin the OG shrimp tacos are amazing as well. It’s hard to pick a favorite so I usually just get one of each. And they’re cheap so that’s okay. I like them with a squeeze of lime and topped with some of the marinated onions and creamy chipotle hot sauce from their salsa bar. NOM! They also have an extensive menu of other types of seafood tacos which are different than anything I’ve had anywhere else and are amazing. Shrimp, octopus, grilled fish, marlin… so many choices, all delicious in their own way. The shrimp is buttery and fluffy and fresh and if you get it in «The Governer» is accompanied by quite a nice variety of vegetables that you would never think to put in a taco but which totally work. The fish is flaky and light… the marlin is lightly smokey and full of flavor… Can’t decide? Get the mixed seafood tacos which come with all of the above AND scallops AND a mussel! You can get them all spicy, regular, or garlic — or even in a burrito if you prefer. They’re all huge and one taco would be a decent sized meal by itself. Personally, when I come I can never decide so I end up getting a few different things(with the tortillas on the side to keep them from getting soggy) and end up eating half now half later for dinner. But wait there’s more! They also have amazing ceviche, cocktails, tostatas, clamatos, and soups. All available in most of the same options as the tacos above. Do try the Krazy Ceviche — it’s an amazing heap of a huge variety of incredibly fresh seafood including a combination shrimp, fish, octopus, scallops, clams, mussels, oysters, and whatever they have fresh on hand that day — all beautifully seasoned and served with tostada shells. It’s . Their raw oysters appetizer are also amazingly fresh and silky smooth delicious and topped with just a bit of seasoning to complement them. And everything is at incredible prices. The only awkward part is that it’s a taco truck in a parking lot — but I’ve learned to enjoy that as part of the charm. I do always get my food to go though, as the idea of standing around in a parking lot to eat still hasn’t grown on me. While you’re waiting for your food, pop in to Texas Liquor(in whose parking lot you are standing) for some local craft beer to take home and enjoy with your tacos and you’ll be winning at life!

5 stars. It’s as simple as that. It’s probably the best fish taco I have ever had and it’s only $ 1.75. You really can’t beat that. If you haven’t been here yet… GO! It should be noted that they don’t have burritos.

Local– Kikos is awesome! I’ve only tried the fish tacos but everything else that I saw while waiting smelled and looked amazing. OG Fish Taco– Definitely the best fish taco I’ve ever had. The coleslaw is a perfect garnish and isn’t too watery or too mayonnaisey. The fish is soft in the inside and crunchy on the outside and the corn tortilla is soft and fresh! It was definitely well battered but surprisingly not too greasy. I’d stick to two at first though because you’ll be surprisingly satisfied mentally and physically afterwards. And hey, if you’re still hungry go for another; the wait isn’t long. Atmosphere– This is a food truck so the atmosphere is limited but I must say there is this exciting buzz of energy that lingers around the truck. How can you NOT be happy with $ 1.75 for fish tacos!

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet! Food is delicious. I usually get the marlin taco and the fish taco. The marlin taco was $ 4 I thought it was kinda steep. But hell no the taco was huge, loaded with generous amount of protein. Cooked with green pepper, celery, and all that spice made it very flavorful! Fish taco was just okay in my opinion. Batter was way too thick. But you get what you pay for. Located at Meade and Texas, right next to a big and empty parking lot. They take credit cards. They offer a small cup of free soup.
