A co-worker suggested this little hole-in-the-wall Mexican place that advertises itself as «Always Fresh and Healthy Food» on the window outside. «The Little Bee»(English translation) has only been open a few weeks, but that friend has been there three times already and his glowing review brought us over today. They apparently specialize in smoothies, fruit salads and healthy breakfasts and lunches, but we went for the tortas. INCREDIBLE! The super torta is really big, on a fresh torta roll(more like a huge sandwich than a traditional taco shop torta) with lomo ham, chicken, mayo, cheese, avocado, jalepenos, lettuce, onions, tomatoes… yum!(Five bucks! And I could only eat half!) Two of our group had«fruit salads» that were listed on the menu as «pico de gallo,» which had jicama, cucumber, mango, watermelon, and pinapple all covered in chile powder and served with lime slices. For $ 4! While it may be a tiny place on a busy street, La Abejita has good service, a super-clean and cute interior and delicious food for a great price. The owner even brought us each a cup of strawberry banana smoothie when we were finished eating. We’ll be back, Little Bee!

I went to this restaurant with some co-workers to try their tortas. I was a little leery of this place because it is kind of a hole in the wall. Then once we walked in the restaurant was very clean and nice but the girl there did not speak a word of English. I had the Super Torta which had Ham, Toma, Cheese, Lettuce, Avocado, Jalapenos, Onions, Mustard and Mayo. The sandwich was so delicious it was mind bottleing. The sandwich was HUGE! More than enough for two people to share and only five dollars. They also gave us a free Strawberry Banana smoothie.
