Came here last night with my bf – based on Unilocal reviews, I had bookmarked this spot for when we had cravings for authentic Mexican food. This place delivered and both of us were very pleased with everything. My bf got 4 or 5 tacos al pastor and said he could eat them all day long! I got the carnitas melitas, an item I had never seen before and which was very tasty. The carnitas were nice and juicy and very flavorful. The complimentary frijoles was also a nice bonus and we plan on coming back for more when we are in the area again!

I consider myself a taco connoisseur as I’ve had my fair share of tacos from San Diego and several places in Tijuana. I really had high hopes for this place but it was sort of a let down. Ordered Carne asada tacos, adobada tacos, carnitas gordita, and a Carne Asada mulita. Best of the bunch was the gordita. Dough was light and fluffy, carnitas was seasoned and cooked well, and they used some good cheese and crema. As good as any gordita I’ve had any where else. The Carne Asada and adobada meat was delicious. Most taco places over salt their meat but this place gets it just right. The only real knock I have on the place is that they don’t put guac in their tacos. I might have missed it if I was suppose to ask for guacamole on my tacos, but I’d say 90% of tacos I’ve had whether they’re from SD or TJ, come with guac without asking for it. I’d give it a 4 star strictly for the gordita, but I have to keep this place to a high regard since everyone says it’s the best. Alas, my search for anything comparable to the best tacos in Tijuana is still ongoing. Maybe I’ll ask for guacamole next time and that might make a difference.

La Fachada used to be my #1 spot for taquitos but today was definitely my last time visiting this place. The walls and ceiling fans are covered in grease and dirt. There are tons of drunk homeless people wondering inside. The restaurant definitely needs a new look ASAP. This place looks dirty and ratchet! It does not deserve in «A»

La Fachada specializes in Lengua and Cabeza tacos. Lengua is tongue and Cabeza is head. I like both. What guy doesn’t? Agua de Fresa(Strawberry Water) or Horchata will quench your thirst. Order the Buche, if La Fachada runs out of Lengua or Cabeza. The Carne Asada tacos are below average compared to El Taurino(in LA).

Not a bad place for tacos. The TJ style tacos are priced right and loaded with meats. I really enjoyed the Carne Asada and Adobado tacos. Just wish the Carne Asada had that smoky taste I enjoy. You can sit outside or inside to eat your meal. Taco’s do not come with guacamole so you must request it. i was fortunate to go there when they weren’t busy because they have very little parking inside the gates. The place can be hard to find. Just look for the blue building.

First time writing a review I love Mexican food. This is my first time visiting. I ordered a gordita of carnitas but they were out of carnitas Strike 1. Also their menu on Unilocal prices in at 3.95 the prices are now 4.95 each Including the tacos supposed to be 1.60 Now 1.90 it’s all about the principal if you say it advertises it should be that. it’s not about the price. Strike 2 after reviewing yep for good place to eat. Pricing not updated strike 2 Strike 3. Ask for some condiments they were out fries jalapeño AND out fried onions, Also out al pastor or lengua meat choices for my tacos or gordita this is so bad when your hopes up and you head over to a taco shop. After reviewing Unilocal for an hour they come up short the food taste was fair but they left a sour taste in my mouth because I was disappointed for not having the food that I was craving wasn’t available. Half a star for the taste. It Was not anything that reviews yes on Unilocal. I will keep searching for real Mexican food in San Diego. For now you should stay away from those so call Taco Shops throughout San Diego with Mexican junk food. So embarrassing. I’m a East Los Angeles native inspired by good Mexican food. I might have to open my own Taqueria the show San Diego what does real mexican food taste like.

Great Tijuana style tacos priced reasonably at $ 1.90 each. Complimentary beans and onions. Hidden off the street. Hole in the wall with parking. Inside offers a few arcade games and a tv.

Very good fish tacos and the best fruit salad in town. Reasonably priced. I’ve gone there several times and they are always consistent.

Excellent tacos all around, both the asada and the carnitas. It’s a pretty laidback place, so you kind of have to hunt down the servers, but it’s definitely worth it. Zesty, flavorful, delicious.

Really nice people behind the counter. Got 4 tacos at a great price at a late hour. Can’t beat that. The Carne Asada and the Carnitas are both delicious and worth the trip here! They even brought us out some chips and there’s a salsa bar as well! Some interesting characters there that late at night but what do you expect! I will definitely be back. Most likely within the week!

Today was my second time at La Fachada. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food without crossing the border, this is the restaurant for you. The food is delicious and the aguas frescas are refreshing. The prices are steeper than what one would find at other Mexican restaurants, but once you taste the food you will know where that extra dollar or two went to. I would have given this place a 5 star rating if it wasn’t for the multiple flies in the establishment. Next time I will take my food to go.

Scrumptious delicious street tacos are one of those things that you just know will hit the taco spot when your hungry! We ventured here after a Padres game as it wasn’t too far out of the way from the path that we took away from Petco Park. This is a hidden little spot that’s kinda behind a strange intersection and a few feet away from the road so it’s kinda easy to miss if you haven’t been here before. The tortillas are fresh made and you can taste it as they are super flavorful and just all around good! When it comes to street tacos I’m always partial to carne asada ones as they are just kinda a comfort food for me I guess as any typical person who grew up in the SoCali area should say seeing that we have an abundance of delicious Mexican spots all over! The carne asada tacos had an awesome grilled flavor to them that paired really well with their yummy salsa and cilantro with onions that totally reminded me of something I would get on the streets of Mexico so you know it was good if you’ve had those tacos before! Their salsas had a good spice to them not being to hot but super flavorful and awesome on their food! They also had a few of the delicious Mexican drinks that are always good we got a Strawberry-fresa malteada super bomb and bursting with strawberry flavors in every sip! They have a little seating area out front and a little bit bigger one inside as well as a few awesome old school arcade games like Street Fighter, Area 51, and of course a Claw Machine! Who knows if ill be back here again but I definitely would consider it as the tacos were delicious and you can’t ever go wrong with that! If your in the area and your hungry I’d totally say come here for some good food from the street!

I found out about this place from and SD local I met at the Dodgers vs Padres game at PetCo Park. He swore by this place and promised I would not be disappointed. I took it with a grain a salt until I tried it. Fast forward a month, and I must say that this place lived up to all expectations. This place is your definitely of whole in the wall. They have a few table outside where the register is, it’s cash only so come prepared, and a few more inside. Once you order, they have a salsa bar with 3 types of salsas(mild, medium, and hot). There is also a grill where they constantly have grilled onions cooking, very delicious by the way. Inside there is a self-serve water station, arcades, a jukebox blasting Spanish music, and a TV showing some over the top Spanish film. What I’m getting at is that this place is 100% authentic Mexican food. We ordered carne asada nachos, two bowls of menudo, and several tacos. All of the food was amazing. The menudo was just the answer for a hangover, plus the bowl was HUGE. You get a choice of corn or flour tortillas with the order. The nachos have sour cream, guacamole, cheese, beans, and your choice of meet. The carna asada was SO flavorful and tender. As with the menudo, the nachos order is quite large, you can probably share it with another person. The tacos, which have homemade tortillas, are jam packed with meat. Try definitely do not skimp out on the portions here, which is always a great thing. All in all, this was easily the best Mexican food place I’ve been to in SD. I can’t wait to come back! Also, the parking is kind of limited so I can see you having to look for parking on the street during a busy day.

I have been craving TJ style tacos for a while now and decided to check out La Fachada yest morning for lunch. I must say this place has some very good tacos, but not quite the real deal but then again we are not in Tijuana . You see I grew up eating tacos for bfast, lunch and dinner and well I can be a little particular about my carne, tortillas and guacamole. Ok, enough of that. So we walk up to order and are immediately greeted with a smile by a nice señora. I order 2 tacos de carne asada, one taco de buche(belly) and one cabeza(head) taco. Bf had 1 carnitas, 1 carne asada and 2 pastor. The cabeza taco was AMAZING. The meet was very tender and the seasoning was delicious. We soon discovered we should of ordered all cabeza tacos. The buche taco was over cooked and fried. Not my favorite. The carnitas taco– was ok, nothing special. The carne asada were good, but I was dissapointed they don’t’ come with guacamole(this would never happen in TJ! guac is a staple with carne asada tacos) you have to order it extra(they didnt tell me this when I ordered) so I made sure to order an additional carne asada taco with guac, it made all the difference! I would highly suggest to check out La Fachada for some good tacos! and for nice friendly service. The cabeza and carne asada with guac tacos and the nice señora earned this review the 4 stars! :)

So, I’ve been making an effort to eat breakfast. It’s not something that is not natural for me and I’m most definitely the kind of guy that makes lunch my first meal of the day. I know, I know, it’s so bad for me! This being said, when I was in the area the other day I hit La Fachada for a customized breakfast plate, which they were happy to build for me. First of all, parking is great here with a lot that can hold six or eight cars comfortably. Granted, I was the only one there this early in the morning so I can’t speak for lunch or dinner. Onto the meal… I was kind of bummed that they were out of machaca, but we still managed to make it work with carne asada. The end result was a plate of scrambled eggs, carne asada, guacamole, lettuce and cheese. Oh yeah, they actually asked me if I wanted cotija or «Jack Monterey» cheese and I requested a little of both. The plate was excellent and they didn’t skimp on any of the ingredients — great alternative to an American-style diner. After paying the $ 8.00 the following questions were asked… Do you want tortillas? –nope Do you want rice? –nope Do you want beans? –nope Chips? –nope Pico? –Yesssss! Nice peeps over there at La Fachada and I’m looking forward to making it back for some greasy tacos sometime soon!

I am giving this place 3 stars for a few reasons. #1 when I got here I was trying to go inside to order since it was a bit chilly outside. The little lady at the taco stand on the outside basically wrecked shop on me and told me I couldn’t order inside. I was like whhhuuutttt!!! As I know on a previous visit I did go inside. #2 the food I had tasted previously was delicious!!! This visit. not so much. I remember the food actually having flavor and this time the asada was bland as well as the rolled tacos. Obviously we had que sad ill as and there’s just not a lot of ways you can mess that up. Either way still lots of food for really great prices.

Feels like you’re in Mexico here with the smell of Carne Asada as you walk up. There’s an inside and outside eating space. The outside menu is a little different since its set up like a food truck area. I tried a Carne Asada Torta and Lengua Taco, both were delicious. The tacos are small perfect size with double tortillas and all the Fox ins. The prices are really reasonable. Just a hole in the wall if you don’t mind that. We did not eat inside because it was way to hot and stuffy, the outside seating works in sunny San Diego

I’m not sure I’d drive all the way out here again but I did have a yummy meal here after hiking mission trails. I ordered 3 tacos and a watermelon agua fresca. Carnitas taco — delicious. The pork was tender and had crispy edges. Just how I like it. Lengua taco — moist, chewy, awesome. Great flavor. Al pastor taco — meat was a little dry but I still liked the flavor. Watermelon agua fresca — one of the best I’ve had. And to top it off, the lady pouring my drink put minimal ice so I could have more watermelon juice. I like her! La Fachada is a taco stand. You place your order and you sit outside at plastic tables, eat your meal in 5 minutes and leave. This is a quick & dirty, cheap meal.
