Never had a bad meal here, or bad service! I feel sorry for Gordon Beirch being next door… they are way too expensive and Lazy Dog will put them out of business!

I went to the Lazy Dog out of convenience and have gone back like 6 times since! The first time, I had the homemade pot pie and it was delish. Then, I went back with my dog and sat on the patio. They have a dog menu we ordered from and that was super cute. It was meat and rice. My friend always orders the sticky ribs and I always get something new. Cute décor(hello, dogs!), friendly staff, large restaurant that serves good food.

I’ve been to a location of this chain up in Los Angeles a few years back and unfortunately left less than impressed. When my friends suggested we go to this location over the weekend I was hesitant but obliged. We grabbed our dog and headed over. SERVICE: The minute we got there though, all my old feelings went away. We were greeted by the friendliest host who welcomed us with open arms, asked about our dog, and found us a great shady patio table in seconds. The server was also great, I’m kicking myself that I didn’t get names but she also was very sweet. Since it was my husband’s first time at the restaurant, the manager even brought out a complimentary flat bread app to greet us! FOOD: The comp’d flat bread was awesome, and we also got an order of corn wheels which were bite sized elote deliciousness. One member of our party got the veggie side dish and another got the hush puppies… nothing was left unfinished! I got the lunch special(which is 7 days a week) shrimp tacos which I LOVED. They let you choose brown or white rice so that was a nice perk. My husband got the fish tacos which he raved about and our other friend got the thai salad which was also well done! THEDOGSERVICE: As soon as we sat down, our server brought over a nice cold dish of water for our dog. She handed us the doggy menu which was adorable and we got the hamburger patty+brown rice combo(which is less than $ 5!). Our dog ate it up so fast and absolutely loved it! This is a place we will def return to, especially for a special day with our dog child. Thanks for the great customer service, LD!

Amazing customer service right when you walk in the door. The restaurant itself is gorgeous btw! We ordered the Cajon fries(an app for 4 people for sure!), the margarita pizza with pepperoni and a ceasar salad. Super basic menu items but they were DELICIOUS! Wood fired pizza with super fresh ingredients you can taste. We can’t wait to come back! Everything on the menu looks amazing!

Lazy dog is always consistent of their food and service that’s a good thing. We came here again today and we were starving AF. -;) Starters and appetizers: caramelized Brussels sprouts with Parmesan and croutons, baby kale and apple salad my fave! I also ordered Ahi poke jar And chips. Hubby the carnivore ordered the steak medium rare a lil bit burnt. With mashed potatoes and ratatouille veggies. Delicious! Kiddos ordered burger n fries and Mac n cheese. We got a free appetizer — Cajun fries thanks Unilocal ! Overall happy tummy-burp ! Excuse me ! Haha! CS was excellent. Highly recommend this place it’s a family casual environment with nice outside patio don’t forget to bring your dogs ;) Ciao ;)

We had a group dinner here to celebrate graduations and the end of the year. The service was really good and the staff was very accommodating — they were willing to split a bill individually for a sizable group of more than 10 people so we didn’t need to play credit card and venmo roulette. Oh, and their portobello burger is pretty good.

My friend and I just had our first date here with our dogs. Let me say, the customer service is great. The food is good. But, the amount of mistakes that were made is what makes this review only 3 stars. We were sat at a table outside in the middle of patio which was nice. The manager had come by and very nicely asked us to move to the end of the patio, because they needed that table for a larger party that had reserved. No biggie, we moved and got a free appetizer for it. Seemed like our requests for the food went in one ear and out the other. Our waiter was very nice and respectful, but made a lot of mistakes. We had asked for no onions on our nachos and salsa on the side. Neither were done. Then i was brought out the wrong soup. They fixed that. Then when it came to our bills they were all mixed up. So they had to go back and give us the correct order/amount on the individual bills. Lastly, my friend has paid in cash and they didn’t give her all of her change back. Overall, this is a cool place and the customer service and food was good. I’d still come back, but i hope they pay a little more attention to our orders and requests.

My dog and hubby have been coming to the Lazy Dog for a year now. The food is always good, and the service great. Last weekend it took a while for our food to come, so the manager came out and comped us our entire meal. We love this place!

My new favorite place! the service is so good here. We came in and hostess Rachel with long blonde hair was such a sweetheart! Such a lovely girl. The server –Toni was always smiling, helpful and caring. Helped us picked dessert and it was amazing! Good is food, portions are huge! I got grilled chicken Caesar salad and was quite happy. Husband had chicken/veggie pasta which was ok, he said it’s not his favorite but it’s because I told him he need to eat healthy. It was our first time here and we got free flatbread. Great place, good prices, dog friendly! Awesome.

So I always dine alone. What I don’t like how they always try to put me in the back. Well I had the grilled cheese! Lawd it hit the spot! As I was going to leave(with food already in the box) I go to the restroom they throw my food away. Now what baffles me is what made them pick up a Togo box and trash it. I wasn’t gone more then 5 mins. They didn’t even give it time to sit there.

This place is the BOMB. The customer service is A1 from the moment you walk in the door and your server. Super duper happy hour menu, great kids meal. Hearty drinks not the normal tiny happy hour drinks. Loved it! We relaxed on the patio at the fire pit.

When I think of eating in Mission Valley, Lazy Dog is one of my top three choices. The hostesses are very sweet and helpful and the service is really great too. It seems as though the staff is well trained in customer service. Everyone is friendly and eager to serve. I like how large this restaurant is and the seating is comfortable. Their brunch food and specials look good so I want to come back for that at some point. I love the bar… it’s so nice and there’s sports playing which is a plus. So you can come do the family thing in the dining area or do the not-so-family thing at the bar. I unlocked my Unilocal offer for free Cajun Fries. Do it!!! It’s a big ass bag of hot french fries with Cajun seasoning on them and an aioli dipping sauce. I could see myself coming back and eating that appetizer with a few beers. Okay, so I HATE lemonade. It’s not my thing but my sister ordered the cucumber thyme lemonade. I had to taste it because it looked interesting. It was sooooo good. What a clever lemonade recipe! I’d prefer it mixed with some vodka but that’s neither here nor there. I ordered the Sun-dried Tomato Pesto Pasta. BOMB! I could not stop eating it even though I was beyond full. Thankfully, I was wearing spandex. My sister ordered the Chicken Parmersan which she loved as well. One thing I will say is that the pasta dishes didn’t come with bread. Not that my stomach needed one more carb in it, but their online menu shows the pastas as coming with bread so that should probably be updated. 4 stars not 5 because the parking is so stupid. Valet is not necessary people. If they got rid of that valet then maybe it wouldn’t be such a clusterfuck of a parking lot.

I’ve come to this place a couple of times now & I have always loved the spinach & cheese dip! It is to die for, but during my recent visit, I feel like they made the serving so much smaller, which disappointed me a lot cause I was looking forward to savoring it I was so excited to bring my dog for the first time cause he’s just a pup & it was his first time at a restaurant. He loved his burger patties, but not so much the brown rice. I’ll try white rice for him the next time. My friends & ate around 10pm on the patio. There were heat lamps and a very nice atmosphere with tons of friendly people around with their dogs. Food is good, pretty good portions for the prices. Excited for the next time my dog & I go eat there

Been wanting to try this place and finally made it. Now I’m not so sure why I tried so hard. Came by on Saturday and couldn’t even get the in the parking lot for the amount of people there for prom and graduation. That’s cool. If the place is jamming this much I have to try it out so I made plans to come back on Sunday and wait in line no matter how long it took. Back on Sunday, 10 minute wait. No problem, off to a good start. Liked the layout of the place but the noise level was off the chart loud. I could barely hear. The hostess asked us about the free Unilocal check-in and let us know that we could choose either flat bread or cajun fries. I thought that this was nice that they give you an option. We chose the fries which were enough for four people. Very generous amount for a free app. Spent time pouring over the menu because I don’t really like to spend a lot of money when trying a new place so I decided to go with an old stand-by: Pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich comes with slaw and onion strings but I always leave the coleslaw off. I’ve never had pulled pork with onion strings but I gave it a shot today. I don’t know if the sandwich didn’t have enough bbq sauce on it or the strings overwhelmed the pork but the sandwich was very bland. Nothing stood out at all and I’m sure it didn’t have enough sauce as it was dry. For my side I ordered mashed potatoes. The first thing my wife noticed when the food arrived was how white my potatos were then she told me that they were instant. I told her that a restaurant would not serve instant potatoes but after tasting them, it had the texture of potato flakes and were very bland also. Never ate more than 3 bites. The wife was eyeballing someone else’s Chicken Pot Pie so she decided to order this for herself. First thing that disappointed her was the crust. It was only one layer and the majority of it was baked onto the side of the bowl. One of the main reasons people love pot pies is the crust. The crust was good what little there was of it. I tasted it and was not crazy about it. I’ve never had mushrooms in a pot pie so it threw the whole taste off for me but that may be a personal preference. As far as the service, nothing to complain about. Our waitress was very attentive and very polite and a pleasure to deal with. Being dog friendly and located in the heart of Mission Valley, I’m sure this place does great. Make up your own mind.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this place. We had just driven 6 hours into town and weren’t sure we’d find a decent meal past 10 pm. Not only was Lazydog open until 11:45 pm, but the food was pretty good. The service was impeccable! We had Lee as our server and when he’d asked whether we’d been there before and we had said no, he mentioned to his manager who then came by and gave a nice welcome by stopping by our table. As I had mentioned, we had never been there and their menu options we plenty. It took a minute to decide on what to order and Lee assured us that we could take our time. He wasn’t in a rush, which meant we weren’t in a rush. The kid wasn’t totally impressed with the kids’ cheeseburger option but that isn’t to say it wasn’t good. My kid is an odd ball who likes toppings and will eat virtually everything. So, a plain cheeseburger with no fixins wasn’t up his alley. Had we had the 7 year old with us, I’m sure she wouldn’t have complained. I had the Maggie Snake River salad. The ingredients tasted fresh. I mean, really there wasn’t any residual nasty unwashed flavor, they weren’t wilted and sad looking, it was appealing and delicious. I would say it was heavily dressed for my taste, but the dressing was good so it bothered me little. Additionally, the portion size was perfect for an entrée salad. The bf had a pizza with fennel and goat cheese and was also impressed. He mentioned that he’s been wanting a good woodfire pizza? Maybe it was wood oven or stone fire, ooohhh I’m not sure but whatever he said he wanted is what he got. The dough was perfect, not doughy… thin crisp and flavorful. Who’d have thought? Out of town, late night and we stopped at the perfect spot. Thanks Lazydog!

Great place to come with your 4 legged friends! Been here twice… once for HH and another for lunch and both times were really fun. Loved seeing all the dogs on the patio with their families enjoying a good time as well. HH — Great appetizers, great for sharing! Lunch — Great selection of food. I did think the Sangria was a little watery, but for a $ 15 pitcher it was still worth it! Brought my 2 dogs during lunch and ordered 2 dog meals… Should have figured that a meal was good enough size for a large dog. So I ended up splitting one dog meal between my 2 medium(15 – 20 lbs) dogs and brought the other order home as leftovers for another one of their meals. :) Overall good experience. The crowd was very laid back and casual and the employees very helpful.

Have visited this location twice now and still not impressed so I truly ask myself why do I return… oh yes friends enjoy it and some items are tasty. First experience here the food and service were lack luster in fact I want to cite racial profiling as my biggest issue at the time. This would have given them a 1 star or less if possible. When here first with 2 friends and both of Asian heritage, we experienced a comment that had me flabbergasted and left my mouth wide open in awe… «Do you want soy sauce for your rice?» Mind you if my friend had ordered a fried rice dish or a stir fry then by all means, that condiment fits the order perfecrly… however if the dish that was ordered was fish tacos with a side of «MEXICAN» rice… soy sauce? Really? Ok… do you want some racism with your check? My flat bread pizza I had ordered was the fennel sausage and goat cheese. Love the flavors however instead of being nice and crisp is was a very disappointing soggy… you would expect a nice crunch but not even close. So food and service first visit lack luster to say the least. Second visit with larger group, service again was just part at best however luckily no racial innuendos made this time, I ordered a burger this time and it was perfectly cooked but flavors lacking and a different friend ordered the same flat bread I had before and same issue, soggy bread. Also tried the new Green Eggs & Ham and aside from salty(I am a salt fiend so I didn’t mind) it was tasty, however over polenta or grits and you would have a home run with that dish. The new harvest Vegetables were beyond tasty. Other dishes seem tasty but did not try, the chicken parm and others. I may be a sucker but I am willing to give this place one more shot as I do enjoy the atmosphere and the ability to bring your dog in and sit on the patio is nice. We shall see if the third time is the charm.

Visiting my friends in San Diego, they wanted to try this place out. So here we are. Upon entering it, we had about a 30 minute wait, which was fine. I had good company anyways. After checking in with Unilocal,We got a free flat bread appetizer. We also ordered the fries appetizer and calamari with brown rice appetizer. As for my main meal, I had the guacamole burger. Don’t remember exact name. As I weren’t too hungry and we had a lot of appetizers, I decided to share with my girlfriend. Unexpectedly, we got charged extra for sharing. It would’ve been fine if I was given a noticed but we weren’t. The fries was pretty good. I mean, you can’t go wrong with fries right? Just some spices and fry it up correctly and it’ll be good. The portion it came with however, was HUMONGOUS. The calamari appetizer however was a bit overwhelming. It was basically drowned in sauce that had a very very strong flavor profile. Too strong I must say. I think maybe that’s why it was served with rice, to make it a bit more balanced? Overall still too strong. The flatbread however, was a miss for me. Completely flavorless and the sauces given did not help. Not complaining about this as it was free. The burger itself was decent. Not the best nor the worst burger I had. The guac was OK. It was lacking a bit of flavor. Maybe needed some sauce to it and maybe some spices. At least I felt it was a bit lacking. The service was also pretty slow after the waiter had taken our orders. Initially they came and checked upon us every now and then. I accidentally spilled my drink and they immediately came by to clean up and refill my cup of water. After we got our food, we weren’t checked on upon as often. As a big water drinker, my cup was practically empty for majority of the meal. I even left it at the side of the table as hints but no one came to help. I ended up drinking my girlfriend’s cup of water and my friend’s cup of water.

Tenia tanta hambre y pensé ojala y no haya elegido mal!
