Yummy California burrito. Although my native SF hubby says SF Mission California burrito is better. Don’t order the flan. It’s packaged and not good. The Carne Asada fries were super yummy and tasty. I also enjoyed the horchata, but it was a bit thick. I added water and then it was perfect. The place had a foul smell however(like an old moldy sponge). Think it’s time to disinfectant or replace your mop head. I think the smell was coming from the floors. The restroom could use a little attention as well. Other than that, the food was overall good. I’d return for more if I were local.

Another case of a place getting too big for their britches… and losing quality and raising prices. kinda like that super nice fat girl who loses a lot of weight and becomes a shallow byatch prom queen. she just ain’t worth the time or money… kinda like this place… Blehhhhhhhhhhh I was a regular at the OG Lolitas in Bonita… the food there in Bonita too legit to quit… Here, at this Clairemont Mesa Lolitas… let’s just say… I could make a better burrito myself. hell, my dog could The Bean and Cheese burrito is a staple in Southern California… it sounds boring… but when done right… it is something you just crave once in awhile… At this location… I was like“are you kidding me? How could they screw this up?” small, tasteless and unmelted cheese. Red salsa that tasted like red water… paleeeeeeeze… The California Burrito… another staple in Southern California… an old standby of french fries, carne asada(steak meat) and sourcreme wrapped in large tortilla goodness… Here…looks like the California drought has landed on the carne here at Lolita’s…dry as hell and slapped together. probably because the line was out the door… line for what? Oh… yes… over hyped taco shop food at this over hyped location…

I’ve been here before for the carne asada fries before and they’re pretty good. But I just came back the other day for a veggie burrito. Honestly I expected so much more. This burrito was half filled with salad(so just lettuce and maybe a few bits of tomato). And then there were a few beans sprinkled here and there. These beans were so flavorless. It tastes like they opened up a can and just scooped some beans into my burrito. There was a small bit of guacamole inside. No rice, I don’t think there was cheese and if there was I didn’t see it. I basically paid $ 5 to get a lettuce burrito with some watered down canned beans. It was the worst burrito I have ever eaten. Please step up your game Lolita’s. Please.

Don’t go there for their burritos or their customer service. I’m assuming the only thing Lolita’s is good for is their carne asada fries that’s about it. Not only did they get our order wrong but when we called to complain all we got was an attitude and them basically saying we ordered our food wrong. Really!?! If you can’t even take an order correctly maybe you should find another job that’s a little less difficult…

BOMBTSUNAMIFRIES! My boyfriend and I shared an order of the fries since it was pretty big. They are very well known for their fries here and we purposely drove here to try it! They have a counter where you can get radish and green onions, it’s kind of like a farmers market haha. Tsunami Fries were AMAZING! It had carne asada, grilled shrimp, guacamole, sour cream, cheddar and cotija cheese. I wish they would of gave us a bit more shrimp, but overall, so tasty and fries were crispy! Some of the best fries I have had honestly. Highly recommend this place and sprinkle radish and green onions all over, it makes it more refreshing!

TSUNAMI fries — carne asada ff w shrimp! The large is ginormous so be ready to take a nap afterwards! Large location and clean. Not the most hole in the wall place, but has pretty much everything you need on their menu.

One of my two favorite burrito places in SD. Their carne asada is always amazing. It is seasoned so well. Most places have flavorless meat. NOTATLOLITAS! Their meat is great. My go-to burrito is the 2 In 1. It’s basically a California burrito with 2 rolled tacos inside the burrito. Everyone loves the salsas, beans, and California/Carne Asada burritos. They also have awesome breakfast burritos. This place is a local favorite with a few locations. This is one of my two go-to burrito places when I have friends/family in town and they want a San Diego burrito.

This is my favorite place to get Mexican food!!! Sometimes some of the cashiers aren’t as nice, though. I still love the food! The Adobada Fries are the best!

First off, the portion sizes are pretty good for the price. I got the California burrito which was huge, like the size of part of my arm. My girlfriend got the asada fries and it was a pretty good portion size i had to help her finish it. I really enjoyed all of it, the only thing is that all of the reviews are saying it’s the best mexican spot here, and even though i’ve only been to one other spot in San Diego(I live in LA) i can say that this place is pretty average. It’s good, but doesn’t really stand out compared to other places if you know where to go. In my girlfriends words, it’s a spot«para los gringos». I agree lol

The only thing you should get here is either their carne asada/pollo/adobada fries or California burrito. I ordered a carne asada burrito and it was literally all pico de gallo. It was the worst and saddest carne asada burrito I ever had!!! If I just wanted tomatoes, I could of gotten a veggie burrito. I was disappointed. I’ve also tried their rolled tacos. It’s so plain. Only sour cream and cheese. No guac, lettuce or even pico de gallo? They all cost extra. Lame. I never had their soft shell tacos but it looks good. Other than that I would of given a 5 star if they actually had GOOD variety. I would just stick to the burritos.

Carne Asada Fries: huge portion, note: Come hungry, I skipped breakfast just to enjoy my carne asada fries. I was only able to eat half of it since, I got the big plate. I’ve been eating a lot of mexican food ever since we moved here to San Diego and I cannot complain with any bad spots I’ve encountered. Lolita’s has been on my list since my cousins have recommended it to me. I’m glad I finally got to try it since I really enjoyed my carne aside fries. The french fries are skinny, crisp and perfect with the carne asada. This plate was a layering of scrumptiousness. Fries, meat, avocado, tomatoes, salsa, onions, cheese, everything I love about food! I was just stuffing my face with this dish and couldn’t stop but eventually I had to since I was so full lol. Anyway I will definitely come back here for my Carne Asada Fries fixes. When you enter you order at the cashier and pay, then wait for your number to be called. You can seat yourself anywhere, we sat outside since it was beautiful outside. They also have self serve drinking fountains and a bar to grab sauces and other stuff for your food.

I finally tried their carne asada fries. It was very delicious. There was a good amount of carne asada on the fries. I do, however, want to try their California burrito. I was drawn to getting their carne asada fries because it was highly recommended. I did mix in some of the red and green sauce. I enjoy my fries with a ton of sauce in it. I love how spicy the red sauce is. I’m definitely trying the Cali burrito on my next visit.

I cannot believe I have never written a review for here! I have come here countless times, and this is by far my absolute faaaaavorite Mexican joint. I have never once left disappointed. They have a salsa bar with quite a few choices. There always is a lunch rush when I come, but they still do a good job at getting the food out at a reasonable speed. The prices are great for the amount of food that you are getting. California burritos are my number one item from here. They’re carne asada with fries inside. Carne asada fries are a popular item as well. You’ll see a ton of tables with this item ready to be devoured. Out of the two locations, this one is my favorite. The restrooms are always clean and there are many more tables as it is pretty spacious. Really wish there was one in Orange County!

Solid and consistent in deliciousness, Lolita’s has become my go-to for Mexican food in SD. Prices increase as inflation goes up but still not too bad considering the portion size they give you. The girls that work the register are all friendly and helpful if you aren’t sure what to get. Make sure to bring cash. All-time favorites: –Tsunami fries: carne asada and shrimp fries with cheese, guac, and sour cream. A must if you’re coming here. Fries are cooked well — not too crispy but not soggy. The carne asada is seasoned well and never too chewy or overcooked. The shrimp are plump and juicy and they don’t skimp on ingredients. Great for sharing with a friend(they’re too delicious to share with more than one). –Tsunami burrito: see above except burrito form. So good. –California burrito: Tasty and plentiful carne asada with friench fries, sour cream, guac, and pico de gallo. Runners-up: –Super rolled tacos: basically taquitos but they were not warm or crispy. Tasted as if they were microwaved. –Monster burrito: can’t remember what was in it but it was alright. It really was pretty monstruous though. Meh: –Beef tacos: plain jane and kinda boring –Adobado burrito: adobado-seasoned meat(not sure if it was pork or beef) wrapped in a tortilla. Pretty unremarkable and super saucy and salty. Not a fan. The menu is pretty extensive but that’s what I’ve tried so far. I’ve generally stuck to my favorites everytime I’ve returned more recently and whenever I bring friends here from out-of-town and they’ve always left satisfied with my top picks.

CARNE. ASADA. FRIES. It seems that every time I’m in SD, I have to make a pit stop for some of their amazing carne asada fries. There’s a reason they have 4 stars and over 1600 reviews! Something about their simple recipe of fries, carne asada, guac, cheese, and sour cream just hits the spot. Every. Single. Time.

To get your carne asada fries fix, the chain Lolita’s does it! I’m no expert but it’s pretty decent carne asada here. The popular carne asada fries are fries with awesome fixings of carne asada, guacamole, sour cream and cheese, a must when visiting California! For a group of 6 people, one order was enough for us. This location is not ideal for big groups for indoor seating. There’s no one really cleaning up tables which was a little bothersome. There is some outdoor seating but on a windy day, it sucks! You order and pay upfront. Parking is within the plaza.

It’s been two years since I have been away from SoCal, and one of the top things I missed while I was out of the country was carne asada fries. Unfortunately *waves hand* there aren’t quite the carne asada fries I was looking for… After a wedding in SD, my friends and I stopped by here to quench that craving. Came in and realized that I had been to that exact spot years ago. Although I can’t remember being necessarily blown away by it before, gave it a try, and ordered the CA burrito while friends and I split the smaller of the carne asada fries. I must have been waiting for an overpowering experience and set expectations high, or maybe I have been accustomed to more street food style fries, but I wasn’t as impressed. I did like that the fries were crispy, and the meat was pretty good, but the whole thing tasted a bit starchy and dry. Overall a decent lunch, but still more carne asada fries to be desired.

This is probably one of the best places in San Diego for carne asada fries. They put a bunch of sour cream and guacamole, and they have a salsa bar so that you can get as much red or green sauce as you want. This is also one of the few mexican places that I’ve seen with lunch specials! Throughout the week they have certain plates with beans, rice, and a medium drink all for just about $ 8! They have pretty big portions and I’m thankful for the half size carne asada fries($ 7) because otherwise I definitely wouldn’t be able to finish it. Even then, I could barely stuff in the last few bites. This place is a little heavy on the cheese, for me at least. For someone who’s kind of sensitive to dairy(but not so much to stop eating it), it was a little too much for me. Also, the fish burrito was like 75% lettuce and 25% fish that was pushed to 1 side. I kind of wish that they either held back a little bit on the lettuce or added more fish.

Nothing beats a haunted moonlit night on All Hallows Eve… And on this fatal night, at this witching time, the starless sky laments black and unmoving. The somber hues of an ominous, dark forest are suddenly illuminated under the emerging face of the full moon. Kim Elizabeth Place is prepared for All Hallows Eve. Ghosts bob up and down near the ceiling. Huge spiders abound. In case I don’t make it out of here I should confess once in awhile I like to eat a vegetarian meal. That means a potato taco here or at Don Carlos Taco shop. The hard shell taco has just the right amount of grease and crunch. Light corn flavor goes well with the lightly seasoned mashed potato filling. I like the filling a bit better at Don Carlos but this taco is good. Beef taquitos were crunchy but lacked flavor. I just tasted fried corn tortilla. Could have used a higher meat to tortilla ratio and meat needed more marinating. El Indio’s has the best beef to tortilla ratio I’ve found in a taco shop. :-) Staff was very nice. Maybe they know nobody gets out of here…
