3.18.16: So that’s why they do events. I would have not known about this place if it wasn’t for their lovely beer and cheese tasting night. I was so hooked on the cheese and salami. This is such a great place to check out their vinegar and oil section. The store is a bit too small for an event like this but it was still enjoyable. They have so much cool stuff there from décor to food. In the end after tasting the truffle salami a billion times I have decided to get that and the truffle chips. The cheeses were good but it seemed a bit too pricey to me. I opt to go to Trader Joe’s instead to eat with the salami. You can find great gifts from this place. Come check it out.

Luxury farms(formerly front porch) is a beautiful little shop just a small distance from the patio. I attended a champagne tasting event here, it was well organized. Everyone got tickets, there was also cava and other sparkling available). The staff was extremly helpful, the variety of balsamic vinagrettes! The dog in the shop, the sweet ladies that work here and the deals are amazing. I only wish the people pouring the wine knew a bit about what they were pouring, the event was wonderful and we were offered incredible discount that night. i cant wait to return and check them out again.

This is my go-to place to find unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for all the ladies in my family. First off, the staff is great. They are very welcoming and take the time to show you around the store, and are really knowledgeable about their products. The store carries kitchenware, gourmet sauces and spreads, books, chocolates, oils and balsamics, and more. They also sell S’well water bottles, which I recently purchased, as I have not been able to find them anywhere else! One of the sales associates also mentioned they do custom gift baskets at various price points, which I will definitely keep in mind around the holidays. Can’t wait to go back and splurge some more :)

This is such a cute store! It’s two stores down from Izakaya, so it’s a good place to stop my while waiting to be seated at Izakaya. This store has everything from candles to oils and vinegars to dog treats. I didn’t really get to look around too much since I came in 30 mins before closing so I did just a quick browse. But, I did end up buying two dog treats for my little guy, which I’m sure he will love! I will def come back to this place!

Hmmmm wait a sec, wasnt there an acupuncture spot here? Olive oil? Cool lookin stuff in a open-air kinda store? Ok, i just ate dinner at the Izakaya, but im intrigued. A real classy feel to this spot. Lotsa random quality goods, fair priced and… perhaps a bit expensive! Samples of some funky oils & vinegars, and really friendly staff. They seemed like nice enough people, for that, i hope the biz survives, buuuuut, i dunno?!

The Front Porch is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. The beautiful design and the sweet dogs that hang out in the store are inviting and give the space a cozy feel. The store reminds me of similar shops in Napa where you can sample a variety of balsamic and olive oils and buy specialty gourmet items. It wants to be a Oakville Grocery or Dean and Deluca but it’s not quite there. I found that the store merchandising could be improved. The neighborhood lacks quality quick service or grab and go restaurants and these guys could easily fill the void but the drink cooler is closed off and the prepared foods are hidden in the back. The selection of food is limited and doesn’t warrant the gourmet pricing. With a lack of vegetarian options we went for a curry pasta salad which consisted of nothing more than pasta shells dressed in mayo and curry powder with two small bits of red onion. Not something I am willing to pay $ 7 for in the future. When you go to Dean and Deluca, or similar, you are getting something special that feels gourmet. Unfortunately the pasta salad didn’t do that for me. The store hasn’t been open for long so there is room to grow. Bringing the food to the forefront may draw more people in and increase the traffic. The Patio provides the packaged foods so hopefully they will explore the menu a bit and draw more people in with better options.

Share. Savor. Remember. This place has just recently opened up so I have not completely visited it yet. I find it interesting. Most restaurants have little stands in their restaurant to sell items but this store seems to be a collaboration with businesses that The Patio restaurants works with including the furniture and accessories currently in use at their places. They also sell several other items including some food(lunches/desserts to go). As the Patio is dog friendly, there are also several dog treats/baked goods for sale. Interesting and I will update the review as I try out their food to go and their dog treats(for Apricot).

Finally a place in San Diego for good kitchen stuff. I love the Rough Luxe vibe. Super chic. They have great wood cutting boards and other amazing accessories. I could easily find a gift here, too. They have some food and drink and some great rustic looking fresh breads. They could not get it more!
