Nice selection of good. Is located in the Marriott hotel and has a great atmosphere for lunch. We were seated quickly and received service from great staff. Good was served fast and tasted very good.

Best Hotel breakfast buffet we’ve ever had and that should say it all — we’ve been in a LOT of hotels with breakfast buffets!

Great ambiance, good spot if you don’t want to leave the hotel. There are several restaurants in walking distance(Gaslamp District) and along the seawall. The Gaslamp District can get very crowded and no place to park. Marina Kitchen is kind of pricey, overall worth it.

Burrata Cheese($ 14) is served with tomato jam, speck, and toasted bread. The burrata is like a creamy cloud of cheese. It’s so soft and mild, it pairs well with the tomato jam and speck, adding both sweet and salty notes. The toasted bread is the perfect delivery vehicle for this starter. Rating: 5⁄5 Seafood Salad($ 19) is Dungeness crab, rock shrimp, and Maine lobster atop gem lettuce and avocado green goddess dressing. It’s the perfect spring/summer salad to enjoy while overlooking the lush tropical pool area. The crab, shrimp, and lobster are cooked to perfection, each with their own unique flavor notes of sweet and briny flavors. The dressing has a nice flavor and lends itself nicely to the seafood, adding flavor without overpowering. Rating: 5⁄5 Brandt Beef Flat Iron($ 26.50) is a grilled flat iron steak topped with herb butter and served with arugula salad and truffle fries. This has to be the best flat iron steak around! The steak has the tender texture of filet mignon but with subtle marbling. The knife cuts through like butter. The herb butter adds an herbal essence bringing out the sweetness of the beef. The truffle fries are so aromatic and highly addictive indeed; crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with truffle flavor and aroma in every bite. Rating: 5⁄5 Maker’s Mark Milkshake($ 14) is served with maple lacquered pepper bacon. It has a creamy texture from the ice cream. The Maker’s Mark bourbon packs a punch but lends a caramel-like flavor to the shake. The added bacon shakes things up with a little bit of salty. This also won the«Best Dessert» at the San Diego Bay Food & Wine Festival. Rating: 5⁄5

Try the wine bar! So many options for tasting flights! Great for seasoned & rookie wine connoisseurs. Friendly and down-to-earth sommeliers greeted us and walked us through our tasting. They offered customized suggestions based on our preferences, and were incredibly knowledgeable on all things vino. We also had the oysters which were delicious. We stumbled upon this San Diego gem while walking through Seaport Village. A full bar and restaurant compliment the experience. We’ll probably be back tonight for dinner! Definitely telling all of our friends!

Just checked out the bar… before I could sit down a server asked had I been helped, great sign. So I ordered a Moscow Mule, she asked which vodka I wanted and named several options. I’m like oh yea she’s good. I hate not getting it in the cooper cup but since it was a tall glass with my chosen vodka I knew it was going to be good. That one drink held me down so I left my tab open for no reason, lol! Servers were attentive and good. Live music was an added bonus to a Friday night I’ll be back before I leave the city for sure!

Solid if somewhat standard breakfast buffet. They have a nice selection of all of the standard US options(fruit, yogurt, french toast, pancakes, omelets, oatmeal, etc) and they make sure to have all the standard fixings you would want. They also include some aytpical things like chicken dim sum. They don’t seem to have any options for table service at breakfast time so I guess it’s buffet or nothing. Which is mostly okay I guess but not the best for a business meeting. Worth going here if you are staying at Marriott but not worth a special trip.

First time here and it was a pleasant experience. Had the chicken pesto flat bread which was loaded with parmigiana cheese and olive oil, awesome. Bartender did a great job recommending local beers. Worth coming back for sure !!

Lets do 5 plus for the attentive service we had at wine bar at Marina kitchen. Erica was friendly, greeted us with a smile and walked us through the menu. We had a bottle of Prosecco accompanied by The seafood platter that came with a medley of scallops, mussels, clams, shrimp, and oysters. For dessert you must try the pear cobbler! We had a couple Managers stop by and check on us several times Karen and Jonathan. Jonathan also recommended the cellar room for a private dinner for 10 to 12 guest. Good place to have a birthday or business dinner.

Ordered carry out to eat in the room at Marriott. Burger with fries and onion rings. Flavor on the burger was excellent. Juicy. Toppings were fresh. Cooked more than the medium temp requested but they didn’t dry it out. Service was also great. All condiments and utensils made it in the bag, and the food was packaged well. This place met my needs as a solo business traveler. I’ll take a decent meal that I can eat in the quiet of my own room while getting some work done over eating in the bar any day.

Service was very good. We were impressed by our server Kasey who remembered our orders without writing anything down. I had the pepperoni and mushroom flatbread which was very good and the house salad was also very good — light and tasty. The other members had the clam chowder and thought it was decent but being that we are right by the ocean they thought it could be better. Also they had shrimp glazed dish with candied walnuts and another chicken dish but they didn’t care for those at all. Very nice atmosphere

Literally just got kicked out of the restaurant on a rainy, empty Sunday morning for not wanted to eat food but rather just have some coffee(who knows, maybe I would have wanted some food soon?). I would completely understand this if the restaurant was busy, but there wasn’t a soul in the joint, possibly because they shoveled them all out by recommending Starbucks for everyone? It might be good, but we won’t know today! …update! A few hours later, management calls to apologize. Not only do they sincerely apologize, but they graciously ask us to come to dinner to experience the true Marina Kitchen. The food was superb, the service was conscientious and helpful and the management went above and beyond. I think I’ll keep my initial review up here because I find it important for you all to know that the management at this restaurant will go out of its way to ensure its guests have an enjoyable experience.

I am staying at the Marriott and wanted to stay in. Since there is not really an option for room service(you can order delivery from Exchange but I am pretty sure everything is microwaved) I went down to the restaurant for a to go order. What a terrible idea. I decided to get the Maine lobster fettuccine and a small salad. What a waste of $ 62! The lobster fettuccine was greasy(literally pools of grease), the noodles undercooked, and for $ 44 entirely overpriced(with minimal lobster)! The salad was small with a lot of pepper. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant.

My boyfriend and I came to San Diego for New Years weekend and stayed at the Marriott Marquis. Seeing the good reviews on Unilocal,we thought we should give the place a try since it was inside our hotel. We went here for dinner on New Years Day and were surprised that it wasn’t too busy. I will start off by saying, this place is very pricy which we anticipated. The hostess was great and gave us every option available for seating except the window views which were all taken. Our waitress, Jenna, was very friendly at first and made sure we had all of our questions answered in detail. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine per Jenna’s suggestions and the truffle fries as an appetizer. The truffle fries were so delicious! My boyfriend ordered the Grilled Jidori Chicken Paillard which he raved was the best chicken he had had in a while. I ordered the Cioppino which had the option of adding fettuccini noodles to it which Jenna had said adds a little heartiness to the dish so I opted for fettuccini to be added with the knowledge of an extra $ 4.00 charge. Our food arrived in about 20 minutes from a different server and I noticed quickly after that my dish did not have fettuccini added. We waited for almost 10 minutes to catch Jenna who avoided our table the whole time so we flagged down another waitress. Jenna finally came out and we let her know that the fettuccini was not added. She said ‘oh well I’ll go get a bowl for you’. In my experience if my food isn’t prepared how I ordered it originally then you are to take back my whole plate away and correct it and present it how it was ordered. At this time of waiting for the fettuccini my boyfriend was long done with his meal and I hadn’t even dug into my food yet. As I filled up on fries, Jenna finally came out with my noodles after another 10 minutes and my other dish was already cold. I dumped the noodles into the bowl of overcooked seafood and the noodles were so raw I couldn’t even finish it. I got a to-go box since I felt guilty for not even eating anything. Jenna still charged us the extra $ 4.00 for the fettuccini and never even apologized. If it weren’t for us sitting there for over an hour and a half, we would’ve asked to speak to the manager and had that meal taken off our bill. My boyfriend still tipped Jenna very well but I don’t think that kind of service should be that largely rewarded. Do not go to this restaurant if you are hoping to have your order as you ordered it and if you are planing anything else for the night. Very disappointed. After dinner we visited Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion restaurant just outside the hotel by the pool for dessert and we ordered the Hawaiian donuts and the Oreo crusted ice cream cake. Both desserts were a lot of food but so so so amazing. We even ordered at the bar outside on a chilly night and we were the only customers outside. The bartender took our orders and was so sweet and totally on it even though she was filling a ton of drink orders from inside the restaurant. Try Roy’s instead they even have outdoor fire pits. The food is unreal!

Was staying at Marriott for 2 nights, so we decided to give it a try in the night around 9pm. First with the service, If i didn’t remember wrongly, Julia. She was great! Very welcoming. And the server that brought us the food, he was good too! I’ll say, the 3 star basically goes to the Service provided by them. The food, since it was late, we just wanted a quick bite. We ordered the Ahi Tuna and the Jidori Chicken, and 2 of the dessert that I don’t remember the name of it. For the Ahi Tuna, About 5 pieces of seared tuna for $ 19. I THINK, its just overpriced for it’s taste. It was good, but not $ 19 worth.(Sorry, because we had so many of them in Japanese Restaurants). For the Jodori Chicken, it was pretty okay. Now, for the desserts, I’m sorry again, but it was pretty disappointing for us. I tried looking up for the name on the site, but it wasn’t on it.(one of them has baked pear in them.) Overall, if you want a quick bite, Marina’s for you. But if you want to enjoy eating, head over across the bridge to… R Restaurant.

This review is only for the cocktails, it is not for the food. I have spent many evenings at this bar during conferences I attend at the hotel. I am always excited to come as they make an outstanding Manhattan. I have done some of my most quality networking thanks to the power of these drinks. On my most recent stay I was here on Monday evening, which is barrel aged cocktail evening. It is highly recommended!

I personally had a great experience here! I do believe it was due to our waiter Abe! He was excellent in so many levels! He offered his favorites on the menu and was consistent on making sure our food/drinks were good. I ordered the seafood salad with lobster, shrimp, and crab… Delightful! Extremely fresh and light weight. Definitely didn’t get that heavy salad feeling drenched with dressing. We told Abe that we had an apt at 12:30 and he brought out check with food so we didn’t have to wait. He was just on top of everything and made lunch very enjoyable! Love this place! Oh… Also try the adult milkshake!!! Delicious!!!

Ate here during Comic-Con. Prices are a little steep but it’s also at the expected price point for a hotel right next to the convention center hosting SDCC. They have some pretty interesting items on the menu, like a Maker’s Mark Whiskey Milkshake. Very good Walnut Shrimp appetizer… I went for the Seasoned veggies and gnocchi entrée and was thoroughly satisfied as I was going through a veggie deficit. The gnocchi was homemade and the veggies were fresh. The waitress was also delightfully helpful and very attentive. I would come here again next year as not only is the food good but it’s reliable with the menu and their full bar.

I was invited to a company breakfast here. We sat on the patio overlooking the marina – what a view! The service was excellent. I was very impressed with the full selection. A chef was on hand to make custom omelets. There were waffle makers, oatmeal with all the fixings, pastries galore, and all kinds of meat. There were things available for most any diet or inclination. Me, I was happy to get a bowl of fresh fruit, some excellent cheese, nuts, and some little pastries to try. The buffet menu PDF on the hotel website is dated January, but still fairly accurate to July 2015 when I visited during Comic-Con. Unilocal won’t let me directly link to it. Would I have paid the $ 26 for this out of pocket? Um, probably not, but it was a delicious, resort-style treat and leads me to be believe lunch or dinner here would be a pleasant time as well. Maybe someday I’ll be back to try Marina again!

Had lunch with some friends at Marina’s Kitchen at the San Diego Marriott Hotel. Very nice place with some nice views of the marina and San Diego Bay. The service was good and the servers were very attentive. They kept my soda filled without asking. I really like that. I ordered the seafood salad. It was huge with a lot of shrimp, crab. The dressing was a light vinegarette that was tasty but not overpowering. The price was fairly reasonable for hotel food. Very open and airy seating with lots of light. There were tables for a quiet meeting and an outdoor patio seating area that was open with views of the boats and the marina. This is one of the nicer marinas in San Diego. There is a fantastic wine cellar with a full glass wall that you can see into.
