Came on Sunday with Wife and family. The place is nice and clean inside. Food is okay, nothing special. Service was very slow.

Super authentic, fresh seafood in IB! Across from the trolley line on Hollister. The place itself is an unpretentious stucco and tile room in shades of red and cream, with fast food style, bench seating. It was clean, well lit, and had a few flat screens on the walls, and some Mexican music playing. Prices are beyond fair for the freshness and quality. There’s table service, as well as to go service at the counter, and the one waitress on duty was welcoming, and patient with my gringo Spanish. We shared a bunch of different tacos-fish, garlic shrimp, grilled shrimp, and tacos gobernador. Six tacos, a Mexican coke and a large iced jamaica was under $ 25. We left a fat tip, and can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. This is our new favorite joint, for a fast, great grub.

Completely empty when I walked in on an early Saturday afternoon. I stuck my head behind the counter and yelled«Hello!» A woman with a big smile came from kitchen and said«Hola!»(equally as loud). She called the server and I grabbed a seat near the window. Good choice, great place for watching some of the more eclectic people getting on and off the Palm Avenue trolley. I ordered a marlin taco, shrimp ceviche, and a can of Bud Light. It came to about $ 7, including free chips and salsa and soup. A damn good deal, especially for the quality, taste, and service.(The server with the silver fronts was very pleasant and put up with my transitional kindergarten Spanish skills.) I’ll definitely be back, and not just when I’m getting my car serviced at the Discount Tire around the corner. It’s really worth the 15 – 20 minute ride from East Chula Vista, or for that matter, wherever you happen to live in SD. Note: The surrounding area ain’t exactly LaJolla. The adjacent plaza has a combination cigar/porn store and a Papa John’s. LMAO. Rare combination. But the actual restaurant is very clean.

Best freshest hottest fish tacos! I don’t eat other seafood but this place is off the hook my dad and I come every Friday for fish tacos and other food. Looks are deceiving from the outside, but man its the bomb food. Extremely good prices, friendly genuine staff and delicious Chipotle sauce. I recommend this place over any restaurant!

This place used to be located by 32nd Street when it went away I didn’t know where it went, and I could never find the truck. I was sad for a very long time, like a few years. Now I know where they’re located, I’m coming back at least twice a month maybe more if I get that itch. Great food, some of the best Mexican seafood in san diego/chula vista.

The first time I came to this place was amazing the food was great service was slow but friendly. The second time which was today the waitress didn’t speak any English whatsoever, service was almost non existent we would have to flag her down when she came out and the big kicker… our check came out to $ 41 when the sign outside said $ 1 fish tacos and $ 1.50 domestic beers. I had a mixed seafood tostada that was $ 5.50 on their menu. So our bill should not have been more than $ 25 even at full price for everything. When I asked the waitress about it she said –what we could understand– the menu prices are not correct. I’m extremely disappointed since I thought I found a place that I could bring more people to love. We feel totally taken advantage of and will not be returning.

So I The first time I came here was awesome. The last few times that I’ve been here well not so awesome. I usually avoid La Cacho because they tend to have music that’s super loud for such a small place where I can’t even have a conversation or can’t wait to finish my food to get the out of there. Well I’ve been here 3 more times. Since then. * new complaints + i’m not sure if this is a new thing but on Fridays it seems that they have a band but the thing is that you have TVs on and I’m enjoying my food and all of a sudden you have a tiny ass place that has a concert that is as loud as like the amphitheate I don’t really mind the music would I mind is how loud it is. * I ordered the cocktail and I ask the waitress if they could make sure that it was no vegetables and if there was only cucumber well when it was brought to me it was a large and I realize it had a lot of vegetables so I took it all out it was about halfway full after I took out all the vegetables that’s like a $ 15 cocktail! With like five shrimps… Go for the tostadas de ceviche instead. * lastly they have this very rude new waitress every time I’ve been there I ask for them not to put something in my food and she immediately says that we don’t do that but I know that they do because I’ve been there and it’s happened to me. asked me if I feel like every time I ask her for something it’s like I’m bothering her I really like this place I just wish they would fix those things

Don’t be fooled by this hole-in-the-wall place, it is absolutely a hidden gem! Cheap and AMAZINGGG fish tacos, cheap beer, what else is there? Try the ceviche while you’re at it. Being an east coast native, all of this glorious Mexican food around here makes me fall in love with San Diego more, everyday. I’m not sure if this is related to the popular food truck, but I love this place nonetheless.

Great tasting food and really inexpensive. Either this spot or their famous trucks around towns will do.

Tried a garlic fish taco & a mixed seafood taco. Plenty of meat, tasted great, and you can’t hate the free soup! Will definitely be back for lunch when I’m in the area.

This same location used to be previous mariscos restaurant who was operated by an elder lady but I forgot the name. I do remember my first time there in the year 2000 because my pops claimed it was the best 7 mares soup he tasted. He was right because she did cook the most perfectly served bowl of seven seas soup and it would always hit the spot on a cold day or if you had a HO(hangover). Anyone remember the name of that business that was located here before German’s took over? Even though this is now German’s it still has the same feel of the old place but now have an entire staff of senoritas. I like how they added a jukebox and arcades since it just makes the place not feel so empty. I have been here plenty of occasions and I was the only customer the entire time eating inside. Always have a nice selection of imported Mexican cervezas and domestic macros along with soda cans. But, the real reason to come here is because the food because German’s has a good reputation for being the original mariscos in the border towns of San Diego. I only had one bad service that was confusing because I waited over 45 minutes for a whole fried tilapia with rice and beans. Only reason I couldn’t rate a perfect 5SCORE! They could have just let me know they didn’t have anymore whole fish or that someone has to drive and buy one to cook it for me. They also breaded the fish in a flour-egg breading that I had never seen in my life when I have ordered pescado frito in the past. Lesson learned not to order any of the fancy higher priced plates since they make them weird. I never want to wait almost an hour for a plate of food again. I will stick to ordering ceviche, tacos, coktels, burritos y quesadillas since they haven’t phucced one of those up in a long time. This is a favorite hidden gem of mine though and will continute

Great fish tacos, and for a buck you really can’t go wrong. Small location, but friendly staff. Reminds me of most taco joints in Rosarito.

My coworker told me about this place and I was expecting it to be a food truck ha, but I was wrong. It was a tiny little place across the street from the Palm avenue trolley station. My buddy and I have been on a Mexican seafood mission the past couple days and wanted to try this place out. This place made me think I was in a different country because it was small, and the dated vinyl booth seats, and plastic folding tables made me believe I was in a foreign country like perhaps MEXICO jajajaja. They were blasting Mexican Ranchero music with the accordion and trombones. I know looks don’t mean anything when it comes to good food so I was excited to try out the food. I ordered the mixed ceviche tostada and a fish taco. The pretty lady working the counter brought us complimentary soup while we waited for our food. The soup was a tomato based seafood soup and it was delicious. It was not too spicy and not too bland, it was just right. She brought out our food and the food was outstanding. The mixed ceviche had scallops, fish, octopus, shrimp, and other ingredients. That tostada was amazing. The fish taco was decent, but man o man that tostada was fresh and flavorful. I’m glad I visited this place and it will definitely be in my Mexican seafood restaurant/food truck rotation.
