What a lovely practice! Massage tailored to your needs in an environment tailored to your ultimate relaxation. Keno is knowledgeable about clinical anatomy and wonderfully sensitive to imbalances and tightness you may not even realize you had. I loved the scalp massage and focus on my neck. Normally I rarely indulge myself with massage more than once or twice a year, but I had a recent neck injury and needed more than a single session with my primary at full price so his Groupon was the perfect way to not break the bank but still treat my injury.
Plus I am always looking for someone with the perfect harmony and touch. This was nearly nirvana. I hadn’t realized that my tight hamstrings were causing lower back pain until he released the tension to reveal it. I didn’t want to leave when it was over!
I highly recommend pampering yourself here! His website is great and even has a video directing you precisely to his office! His intake form is detailed and asks pertinent questions to maximize your experience.

I booked a 90 minute massage with Keno off groupon that was a pleasant experience. Once my massage was over I expressed my interest to Keno in bringing my dad to him for his first massage. Keno loved the idea but insisted that I go through him this time around rather than groupon; to which I happily obliged.
Fast-​forward a few days; I emailed Keno asking about the price of the massage and if he would honor the cost of my groupon (w/​o going through groupon) as he had told me. The email response I received back was one of the most unprofessional, extensively rude, and disrespectful email responses I have ever received from a «professional».
I will not share the email response I received from Keno on Unilocal as to avoid being callous; but he truly needs to work on his customer service skills. I understand that money doesn’t always bring about the best side of people but I would’ve anticipated the same level of decency and respect via email as I received in person.
Keno I gave you two stars because the massage I received from you was good; but you left me feeling worse off than when I visited you after our email exchange. I wish you the best and hope you treat your other clients better than I was treated. You have lost this customer. Good luck to you.

The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I selected the extra spa treatment but didn’t receive the full services because he forgot, however he did compensate by doing what was left of it for free before my massage was over. The massage itself was amazing! Might be the best I’ve ever had.

Wow. I had a 60 minute massage by Keno today from a Groupon and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. The atmosphere was instantly relaxing, and Keno was beyond professional. We talked about pressure and what I wanted to work on and he listened to everything I asked. My main purpose in getting a massage is to workout my knots, my secondary purpose is to relax. In all of my massages I don’t think I have ever been able to say that I have been both extremely worked out and relaxed. Thank you, Keno!

I had a very relaxing 60 minutes massage by Keno today. I was promptly greeted by the owner who gave me a short form to complete regarding my massage needs. When I entered the room it was pleasant and relaxing with a glass of water next to the chair.
We sat for a few minutes to discuss the type of massage I would like whether specific targeted area or whole body. In addition, he wanted to know how much pressure I would like applied.
When the massage started Keno asked about covering my hair as to not get any lotion in it. He immediately draped a towel over my hair as he was massaging my shoulders. Throughout the massage he would ask if the pressure of the massage was enough of which I would let him know more or less.
What I did not expect in the massage was hand and foot reflexology which I really needed. This was a very nice added bonus. This was a Groupon that was getting ready to expire and Keno let me extend the expiration deadline.
I would recommend massage by Keno.

Got great deal on Groupon and tried Spa Keno for thec1st time. Nice clean office, with relaxing atmosphere. Keno seemed to know the right amount of pressure without telling him, really enjoyed nice sthrong hands. Highly recommended.

Not for me! I did not think it was possible to leave a massage more stressed and tensed than before coming, but it is possible.
I first found Massage by Keno on Groupon. There was a choice of 60 or 90 min massage. I looked at Keno’s reviews on Unilocal and for the most part they looked good. His website also had quite a bit of information, so this overall looked like a good place to try. I booked the 90 min massage. The groupon and his website do not specify different types of massages (i.e. deep tissue, aromatherapy, etc), but his website indicates the massage is tailored to your specific needs.
The place was pretty easy to find, though his website does provide detailed instructions, including a video. The studio looked very professional with a small, but nice waiting room. When Keno came out, he introduced himself and gave me the intake form to fill out. I indicated my back and shoulder/​neck as areas of tightness. Once the form was filled out, Keno went over it with me. I explained to Keno that I like firm pressure because my back/​shoulders are tight and I hold stress there.
It started out great, but once the massage actually began is when everything quickly went downhill. I unfortunately knew in the first ten minutes this would not be a good. None of my tense muscles or knots were worked on. The «massage» was more of rubbing an excessive amount of lotion on me; and the lotion does not moisturize, hydrate, or smell good. For pressure, the firmness equated to him holding down and pushing my shoulders. It unfortunately did not result in pressure of massaging my tight areas or working out any knots. I wanted to say something, but when someone is rubbing you and not massaging you, I’m not sure how you can mention that without getting up and demonstrating massaging knots and tense areas.
Over 30% of the «massage» was him shaking my whole body or body parts. This might have been useful if I signed up for a sort of vibration therapy, but this shaking in no way was relaxing or soothing. I almost had to tighten up and brace myself each time. At one point he was holding my arm and rubbing an area under my arm/​body. My body immediately reacted and jerked back a bit. I’m not sure why he kept working on it when my body reacted as it did. Finally I had to tell him it was uncomfortable and I did not like it.
When the «massage» was over, I was completely covered in the undesirable lotion and couldn’t wait to get home and wash it all away. My muscles were tight from bracing of the shakes, and none of my knots or tensed areas were worked on.
What I thought was a good deal, was definitely not. Perhaps it was because he was tired or it was later in the day, or maybe I just don’t like his style. But regardless of the reason, I will not be back nor do I recommend.

I wish Keno would move to Maryland… but then all his San Diego folks would be at a loss!
When I booked my appointment, I was impressed that Keno’s website had a video on how to get to his place. I have no sense of direction, but the video definitely made things easier. His office space is clean and very decorative. When you arrive, you’ll be asked to fill out paperwork. Instantly I felt a sense of calm once the massage began. 60 minutes went by too fast. My husband had a later appointment, and Keno managed to to see much sooner. That really saved us some time because we wanted to see the sights of San Diego.
My husband and I purchased our massages through Groupon, and in no way did we feel slighted on time. We got quality massages.
When I visit San Diego again, this would definitely a place where I would go for a massage.

One of the best massage experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m always leary of new practitioners. Keno makes everything about the process, from scheduling/​reminding/​getting there to the massage experience itself as wonderful as possible. Peaceful décor and a custom-​tailored ambiance (down to making a Pandora channel for you based on your musical taste) augment an extremely thorough massage using excellent technique. Doesn’t chit-​chat unless you want him to (I didn’t), so it was even more relaxing. Focused on painful/​tense areas while still providing overall relaxation. If you use a Groupon, remember to tip generously.

Redeemed a Groupon gift I received for the holidays this weekend. Keno was professional — genuinely interested in my areas of tension and honestly it was one of the best experiences I’ve had ! Definitely returning for continued healing.

It was definitely a wonderful experience! with the reminders, video/​directions to the place, parking. the great massage! the orange scent. the bergamot mist at the end. Awesome!

Keno is a tremendous therapist and my massage was a great experience!
The form he had me fill out at the beginning allowed me to specify just where I needed work done, and being able to choose my own music was great!

Another great massage with Keno! I was, for some reason, really ticklish this last time. He mentioned that excess tension can lead to hyper-​sensitivity. I’ll go with that… There were times when I just couldn’t stop laughing. How embarrassing!!! Anyway, Keno didn’t make a big deal out of it, thankfully. I was pretty embarrassed lol.
Do yourself a favor and make an appointment ASAP. You will not regret it! Hot stones are heaven :).

Excellent, Professional, Friendly. I was a licensed massage therapist for over a decade so I am very particular about who I receive a massage from because I don’t want to waste my money on something that is mediocre. Keno surpassed all of my expectations. His massage technique is very thorough and he adapts his massage style to his clients needs.
His office is very easy to find. His office space is extremely welcoming, clean and relaxing.

My 90 minute massage experience with Keno was satisfactory but not great. He came off impersonal and cold. It could have been that my appointment was at the end of the day. Either way I got the impression he didn’t want to give me the massage. I received no handshake, his business card, a discussion about massage specials, or asked when I wanted to book my next appointment.
His office space was extremely professional. The towels were fresh and clean and the essential oils and facial mist was a nice touch. However, the massage itself was just average. I was never able to reach a state of deep relaxation. Some of his technique included shaking my body vigorously which failed to aid in my attempt to relax.
Overall the ambiance was nice, the music was nice, and he honored the Groupon.

I redeemed a birthday Groupon massage with Keno and it was a wonderful experience. The place was easy to find and welcoming. Keno was friendly and professional. I appreciate that he discusses the type of massage that you want before the massage and also checks in from time to time to ask about the pressure he’s using or the temperature in the room. I love the lavender essential oils =) and enjoyed the massage today. He listened when I said that I liked deeper pressure and he worked on the tension and knots in my neck and shoulders. I would highly recommend Keno’s massages.

Aside from the amazing aesthetics, Keno’s massage was one of the best I’ve ever had — paying close attention to my suggestions on the areas I wanted the most focus on. He went above and beyond with extras that you’d only expect from a 5 star resort. He also skipped the high pressure sales pitch at the end and instead waited for me to initiate a re-​book (refreshing to say the least.) It’s great to find a place that also has ample parking and is easy to find (and his how-​to find me video is also great for the directionally challenged.)

Fantastic experience. I was fortunate to get an appointment quickly and was very satisfied by Keno’s professionalism and expertise for all 60 minutes. He takes the time to understand how best to serve your needs, and everything is customizable from focus areas during the massage, techniques, pressure, choice of music, lighting, and so on. Someone who takes pride in their profession doesn’t need to convince you they care — it just shows.
I left feeling like a new man and will be back!
