Thoroughly disappointed! Have tried twice to help sponsor our High School sports program while being promised ad space in an actual spring sports program. Both times I ended up with ad space on a poster that doesn’t even get distributed where potential clients would be able see it. From now on I’ll go straight to the School instead.

Our company got cold-called from Media All Stars in support of a local youth sports group.(It took me a while to get the caller to tell me who she actually works for.) When I asked how much of the funds raised are captured by Media All Stars, they said«35% go to the organization». I asked, «By ‘organization’, do you mean the youth sports group?» She said yes. So that’s 65% captured by Media All Stars. Granted, Media All Stars provides a service — the salaries of the callers, printing up banners, etc. But if you want to contribute to this group, your money would go a lot farther if you just made a contribution directly to the group that they’re raising funds for.

Media All Stars are. «humble entrepreneurs who execute with integrity in our mission to fund high school sports, create raving fans and unite communities. Our primary goal is to provide America’s High Schools with effective community relationships, première marketing exposure, and fund-raising campaigns at no cost, risk or effort to the schools. We believe High School Sports are worth saving and will continue to find ways to bring a Disneyland experience to the schools and communities in which we are fortunate enough to serve.» This was from the website. As I see it: basically the business hires a bunch of telephone jockeys to call on businesses in areas where they have contacts with High Schools and ask the business to buy an ad or spot on a school calender or poster. Sounds good and they do a pretty good job too, I have seen some of their posters done for Mission Bay High School and they are nice and professional. Their secret is to hire ex-jock baseball players who now coach to travel to all these schools and jock talk with the sports coaches. He gets the school signed up and the gravy train is rolling! Many years ago I had worked at this place in it’s old location in Point Loma and I must say I made quite a bit of money from commissions! They have since moved to a bigger location because Point Loma was horribly cramped and absolutely no parking either! The owner Buddy is a Christian and promotes Bible studies in down time and his wife seems to run the show there now. I once worked there a long time ago but not too many women are in that office. It is a very cut-throat business and you have to watch your back because unethical workers will steal your sales or pinch your commissions. If you got a way with words, can sound sincere and can handle the stress, this place may not be all that bad to work. I feel they genuinely care about helping to fund-raise for the kids and do put out cool merchandise on time. A Pastor I know from the Rock Church has worked or may still work there so I guess the business must be right with God? They got the Jesus fix goin on there fa sure! A-OK !
