Less than 24 hours to Thanksgiving and we were looking for a place to supply a no-fuss, healthy, yummy meal we could bring to a nursing home to eat with family this year. Cheryl at Metro Catering saved the day with a last minute cancellation of cooked boneless free-range Diestel turkey breast, organic Cornbread Stuffing with Apples, Pecans and Dried Cherries, and cranberry sauce. The meal was a hit and everyone enjoyed it. One diner even told me that she doesn’t normally like turkey because in the past, the turkeys she’s had were always dry, but she said this turkey was the most delicious she’s ever had, it was moist, juicy, and very flavorful. Thank you Cheryl for saving the day and allowing our family to have Thanksgiving this year. The quality, care, and flavors of our meal was excellent.

It is terribly unfair to write a negative review of an entire catering business based on 3 cookies left over in a corporate lunch room. Just to receive a «First to Review» star? Shame on you. I disregarded that review when I decided to give Metro Catering a try at providing a light lunch at my company’s All-Hands at the end of July 2009. I spoke to Cheryl, told her my miniscule budget($ 10 per person) and said I was looking for quick and simple options that wouldn’t result in long, slow-moving lines. And I needed them in two days’ time. It didn’t faze her a bit. On Cheryl’s advice, I ordered 4 varieties of specialty sandwiches: — Grilled Chicken — Smoked Ham & Brie — Albacore Tuna — Roasted Eggplant & Peppers. Each would come with a mixed green salad, roasted red potato salad, all packaged in a stackable cardboard box, with cookies on the side. On the day of my event, Dean delivered the 85 boxed sandwiches promptly at 11am. It took 10 minutes to set up the boxes. At 11:30am, people trooped in and by 11:40am, all were seated and were munching away quietly while the execs took turns sharing their«state of the company» reports. I had the Smoked Ham(succulent) & Brie(soft and gooey), piled into wonderfully chewy ciabatta, all pulled together with the bite of arugula and the tang of Dijon mustard. The mixed greens were fresh and crisp, with dressing on the side. The roasted red potato salad was served in a small container nestled in the greens, and was just the right quantity of perfectly seasoned, bite-sized morsels, sprinkled with sun-dried tomato. We offered 3 kinds of cookies. ALL disappeared in seconds and ALL were delicious. Lots of people complimented the quality and convenience of the food(clean up was breeze) and especially, how pleased they were to have a «balanced» meal instead of the pizza we’d had the last time. And for the unbelievable price of $ 9 a person! I recommend Metro Catering without reservation and plan to use them again.
