This place was recommend by a friend and hey it’s part of the brige family. I’m picky about my skinny margarita but they were delicious!!’ White cream and salsa yum yum! ******* five stars for that! Didn’t try food only cocktails but can’t wait to try their food!!! Thumbs up!

Beautiful location. Tons of parking located in the back. Patio was a perfect place for an amazing lunch. They have heat lamps for cold weather and ceiling fans for hot weather. The service was great since we had a party of 7. Our waitress was excellent. The cheese sauce and salsa as a starter is so delicious. I’d recommend making a reservation for quick seating. Prices are also reasonable so I’d definitely come to this location again in the future.

I am just getting around to writing my reviews from a 2 week trip to southern California I took over Christmas and New Years 2015⁄16. This review is from a visit on 12÷27÷16 I am not a big fan of Mexican food in California so I was surprised to find something on the menu that was not the typical Mexican food because of the added Mushrooms. I had the Combination Fajitas. I had a choice of three items. I chose steak, shrimp and Portobello Mushrooms. Chicken was the other choice that I did not pick. A very unusual combination with the mushrooms. It had bell pepper, onions and tomatoes It very good and the serving was huge. Too much for me to eat. The other person in my party had El Marco Enchiladas $ 11.25 we substituted Carnitas for meat for $ 1.00 more for each enchilada for a total of $ 13.25 for this meal. We walked by about 7:00p.m. and there was a very long wait so we walked around and came back about 8:00 p.m. on a Sunday night and we got right in.

A great spot to grab some Mexican(American style) food. I like it a lot… Is it super traditional? No is it super delish yes! I always get the fish tacos. I also almost always OD on the white sauce that the give you with the chips… It’s like crack. So good. The service was great it’s a fun location to sit on the patio and check out the streets of old town.

Just left this restaurant with my boyfriend and he left happier then I did lol when we first got there the woman who seated us sat us a table with weird seating. It definitely wasn’t set up for 2. She barely even helped us move the seats. Other than that, the food was really good. We had the beef chimichangas. The mangorita mock tail is really good too!

Very good food and nice atmosphere, plus good margarita’s. Service was average, and though our server disappeared for a while, anyone on the staff would grab us extra napkins, brought our check and returned it promptly as well. So overall great service, I just hope for the staff’s sake they pool tips!

Service was great, our server, Jade was wonderful! Made great recommendations, talked a little of how the restaurant is known for their swordfish tacos. Their ceviche as an appetizer is kind of small, but very satisfying. The fish tacos were awesome too! And their portions are huge! Chips and salsa and nacho sauce, what else can you ask for!

The hostess said the bar area was open seating, so I sat down and a guy brought me some chips. I sat there eating chips for about 20 minutes with employees walking all around me throughout a mostly empty restaurant. Nobody offered me a menu, water, or anything. Nobody even looked at me. Eventually I went to the bar and got myself a water and a beer. Still sitting at the table enjoying my beer while everyone around me gets served by their servers. Manager is cruising around now reading mail. Christmas lights are pretty. Chips and salsa and white sauce is very good. But I’m still a ghost.

We stumbled on Miguel’s when we were walking by and saw the beautiful roaring fireplace in the outdoor dining patio. I couldn’t resist. On this rare occasion sans kids, Mr. G and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with good service. My fish tacos were delicious and the ambiance was romantic especially at night with the fireplace. I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend.

I love this place. I usually come for Taco Tuesdays, which they have great deals! Also, the service has always been awesome, and the chips and dip are amazing(and free). Definitely my fave place in old town!

We had a reservation for 6 pm for 14 people on sat night. At 6:01 the manager, Jenny, was outside apologizing. I asked for chips n queso and in 2 minutes we were eating it on the sidewalk. THATISSERVICE! Then, as if that wasn’t awesome enough, our table was covered with 4 huge appetizer plates. The Calamari is the BESTWEHAVEEVERHAD. It was spectacular! Not rubbery at all. Not fishy! Best server HEATH! Great way to get repeat customers! We will come back! Thank you!

Miguel’s has the most quality Mexican food in Old Town. Added bonus… can you say QUESO? Their Taco Tuesday deal isn’t as good as their competitors across the street but the quality of their food makes up for it. To start, I love their mango margaritas. They taste delicious and are the perfect mango blend! I’m also a fan of their red sangria! My favorite meal item are the enchiladas rancherias. The sauce is a nice, heavy tomato sauce with ground beef on the inside. It’s got a unique flavor that I really like. They’ve got a lot of good seafood options too. My favorite thing about Miguels though is the queso! They offer free queso with their chips and salsa. It’s so good. The BF has been known to go through a couple bowls of it while we’re there. I love this restaurant and enjoy visiting when I frequent Old Town. It’s an especially nice place to bring out of towners when they’re visiting.

Met my boo Christine for a late lunch. They have happy hour specials on several items and I opted for 3 TJ-style tacos for $ 4-carne, adobada and carnitas. All 3 were pretty good but I preferred the carnitas. I also ordered the Red Chile Caesar-couldn’t really taste a big red chile presence. Maybe they meant ‘We serve the salad with 4 long strips of raw red chile’ –because that’s what they did and I was not interested in those at all. My friend ordered the Albondigas(meatball) soup and it was very flavorful with about 4 good sized meatballs in it. The cheesy garlic bread that came with my salad was great but I’m always partial to bread. Always. Overall, I feel like this is more of a touristy spot and not as authentic/delicious as it could be. The service was nice and it felt cozy and comfortable even though it was getting kinda busy. I probably wouldn’t stop in again unless I really had a reason to and someone else was paying. :-)

OK this is round two at this restaurant I ordered the plato del old town it consisted of marinated skirt steak and a spicy shrimp tamale Jade our server was awesome. Thanks to Jenny the general manager for stopping by and checking on us you made us feel really at home and welcomed. Now as for what the food taste like both the tamale and the steak were delicious I will definitely be ordering this again

Fast seating, quick service, good food and tons of chips & salsa! We wanted to grab a quick bite before hitting the road and came in. They sat us immediately and we started with the chips & salsa. I ordered the fish tacos and thought they would be small but they were really large. In fact, the entire serving was large. I had to cut the fish strips in half so I could fit them in my mouth. It was really good food and not what you would want if you’re gonna drive for the next three hours. That being said, this place had a really nice vibe and made you wish you could sit back in the bar area and watch the game. Maybe on my next trip?

Okay, Miguel’s. We’ve had quite the roller coaster ride over the years but you did earn back a star from my previous visit. Both my boyfriend and I were more impressed with our meals than we’ve been in the past and the service seemed to have improved too. We met up with my boyfriend’s out-of-town cousin, her husband and her son at Miguel’s for dinner on a Thursday night. We had about a 20 minute wait for a table but once we were seated, our server was prompt. So prompt that we had to ask for a few more minutes to decide. I ended up ordering the enchiladas suizas, which was a new dish for me. It was way better than my soggy pollo asado burrito from my last visit but maybe not quite as good as I remember the pollo asado burrito being on other visits. It was so bad last time though that I was afraid to order it again and thus I tried the enchiladas. The flavor was good but they could have used a bit more sauce and cheese on top. My boyfriend ordered the tamales with green chile. The menu lists it as green chile tamale and pork tamale but since he’s vegetarian and from New Mexico, he subbed two green chiles. He thought they were very good and would definitely order them again. As always, the star of the meal is the jalapeño cheese dip but these two dishes did help redeem Miguel’s Old Town in our eyes.

We came to San Diego for just a day, and someone recommended us visiting«Old Town». The restaurant is located among many other restaurants in Old Town and we decided to come here because of the good reviews on Unilocal and because the affordable prices. The restaurant is very nice and clean. You definitely feel in Mexico once you step a foot inside the restaurant. The service was excellent, even though the restaurant was very busy at the moment, on brunch specials hours. They have a nice brunch menu with $ 3 dollar unlimited sparkling wine! They offer complimentary nachos with salsa and their home style cheese spicy salsa, which is very yummy! We had some shrimp cocktail appetizer and the vegetarian burrito. Everything was delicious and served very, very fast! If you are looking for a nice Mexican restaurant, affordable, nice, and fast, this is your place.

Had opportunity to introduce a vegan pal of mine to Old Town last night, and on a whim gave this restaurant a try. It’s owned by the same folks who own Brigantine. Let me just say that I was rather surprised our waiter was very informed about the way each item on the menu was prepared. He painstakingly explained things to help us find food that was vegan. We ordered a veggie fajitas, which was more than enough for both of us. It had delicious black beans served with it. It was great. You know how busy restaurants can be in Old Town. I didn’t expect to get the level of service we got. Sure, we had to park a half a mile away. But Old Town has a fun vibe, so not a big deal.

I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised with this place. On Monday nights, they run happy hour till close. I had three street tacos($ 4 for all three) and a fish taco($ 3.50), what a deal! The tacos were all pretty good, not amazing, but tasty. The best part of the meal: free chips, salsa and… queso! The queso really set this place apart from the sea of generic Mexican in Old Town. The décor was as expected. The restaurant was busy with families, many with small kids. Our server was friendly but definitely on the slow side. Any requests for refills or condiments took five minutes or more… The hostesses didn’t seem particularly organized or friendly. They didn’t take our name, just told us they had to push the tables together and they’d get us. Finally 20 minutes later, we were seated! Overall, it was good and cheap! I would consider coming back…
