Great little neighborhood park not too busy. Parking usually is not a problem. Nice open grassy area and playground with slides and swings for children. They also have baseball fields for softball games and such

This park has an interesting dynamic during the week versus the weekend. During the week, you may find kids there playing at the park or its empty and there are random people asleep under trees or people who appear to be living out of their cars parked in the parking lot. On the weekends, it’s a much livelier and family friendly atmosphere as its more overrun with family and children. It’s one of my least favorite parks to take the kids though because of the people who just kind of hang out in the parking lot.

We play softball here on Thursdays. The field is nice and the diamonds are clean. A nice neighborhood park that is family friendly and feels relatively safe. Parking, like the rest of the rest of the Clairemont can be horrendous.

Decent playground, although the equipment seems rather dated. I like the grassy sloping hillside with a wide concrete path that winds through the middle of the park. At the top there is plenty of parking and two spacious baseball fields. One field is better maintained and usually occupied by a local softball club. The other is more recreational, but a good place to bring the little ones for some practice drills.

I think that I’m looking at parks more closely now because I’m gonna be a baby daddy and scouting different places to take the mini-me in several months. it’s mid-day and there are a number of young parents and helpful grandparents making good use of the swings and other playground features here. Mt. Acadia Neighborhood Park has street parking closest to the playground, but there is also a short driveway that leads up the hill to a parking lot adjacent to two little league /softball fields and a restroom facility. With large trees providing ample shade around the perimeter, the large park space is lush and would be roomy enough for a pickup game of soccer, football, or whatever fun activity that requires open spaces. I’ve driven by on a weekend afternoon to see family picnics or birthday parties where kids are going crazy on those rented inflatable jumpers. Have you ever been on one of those things? It’s quite fun and can be a great alternative exercise for that lower body plyometric workout. Just be prepared for some human pinball action with little kids all hopped up on sugar.
