Great place for beer and watching the game or fights. Noise level on a Saturday night on a scale of 1 – 10 is definitely 10. Didn’t bother me. Staff are friendly and prompt. Beer is good snow crab is delicious!

Lackluster service, average food(tried the smoked pork and crunchy rib tacos — listed under favorites), okay view of the ocean if you can get a seat upstairs along the edge, and pretty good beer list. 3 stars for brewing your own beer.

Visiting San Diego for the week and stopped by PB ale house. Our bartender was Kayla, not only was she a kick ass bartender but she was super hospitable and knowledgeable. Only came in for 1 but stayed for 3 because of her. Will be back again for sure!

One of the better spots in PB but still pretty ratchet… Big place with upper deck and outside chill spot on the main level. I also like that it is by the fire department in case of an EMERGENCIES!!! Id give a 3.5 if I could 3.5:(

This is the best sports bar and Bills Bar this side of the Ralph! Being from Buffalo, NY, it’s been hard to find somewhere that feels like home but from the moment we stepped through the doors here we knew we had found our place! The beer selection is absolutely great! It’s the first place I’ve found with Left Hand beers on tap. The regular menu is delicious and, during football season, they have a side menu of WNY(Western New York) favorites that can’t be beat. And the people — THEPEOPLE!!! I loved the way the regulars embraced us and remembered us each time we drove down from OC. Worth the drive and I wish we lived closer! Highly recommend this place.

Well, I think I owe it to the restaurant and my little sunburned, terribly blonde highlighted 2009 year old self(I won’t tell you how old I was) to give my review an update. After all, I did say, «Will return(more) sober to update review.» So here I am, 7 years later and completely sober, the last time I checked, so I’m happy to up them a star. I love their rooftop deck with a 360 degree view– it’s breezy and warm and the service has always been efficient and friendly. I had a very massive wheat beer, their own, and a delightful Asian chicken salad. I love restaurant chicken salads(because I can’t cook chicken well at home to save my life) and this one hit the spot– huge and full of great crunchy things. I’m not sure about the nightlife there and how many college girls roll in there drunk at 1am and go, «OMGAH they have a BEERSPESHAL guyyyyssss!!!»(gosh who does that cough cough cough) but it sounds like it’s busy often full of good food and people watching to boot.

STOP. THE. PRESSES. Pacific Beach AleHouse can actually COOKMEATTOTHEREQUESTEDTEMPERATURE!!! HOLYGUACAMOLE!!! You have NO idea how much of an issue this has been lately. Even though it was a burger, it’s simply galling how so many restaurants struggle with cooking temperatures. Ask for medium and get very rare. Ask for medium rare and get a living cow. It’s ridiculous. But here? Fantastic. I ordered the bison burger. How could I not? Whenever I see bison it’s like the decision is made for me. It was ORGASMIC. Moist, delicious, and cooked perfectly. The fries were also great. Altogether a solid dish. The one thing that didn’t do it for me were the Rattlesnakes. I usually love anything stuffed and/or wrapped around jalapenos but the ones here were hotter than the fires of Mt. Doom. I love hot food but damn. These were too much even for me. Other than that I had a good time. Really, really tasty burger. Recommend!

Great spot right on the beach with their locally brewed beer and other guests on tap. I’ve walked by a million times and never thought much about the place. So I was shocked to walk inside and find a very cool, wood-lined interior. The service was fantastic, especially given how busy they were. The beer was good and so was the food. I’ll definitely be going back the next time I’m in San Diego.

Great ambiance at this place and not just saying«great ambiance» for the sake of this Unilocal review. Good service, good beer, a little pricey but not terrible. Got the rattlesnake appetizer which was basically bacon wrapped jalapeño with cream cheese and it was spicy but good.

Came here 3 times already and had different experiences each time, but one thing all visits have in common is that nothing truly stands out to me. Pros: -$ 1 oysters on Wednesdays, probably one of the only reasons I’ll be back here. Ordered 3 dozen for my boyfriend and I and we left with all shells empty. We could eat em all day. They were all properly removed from the shell, making them very easy to eat. –one of the nicer bars/restaurants around the pb/garnet area –open-air seating and bar at the very top –Hummus Duo is a good starter –many TVs with sports Cons: –service is very average. Yeah… the waitresses are friendly, but they aren’t exceptional. Took time to get their attention and we don’t get checked up on as frequent as I would like. –asked for hot sauce and was pleased when she told me the many ones to choose from, but the server gave us an almost empty bottle of Chalula! We finished it at the table… doesn’t look good to give customers a bottle that’s 95% air and 5% sauce. –drinks are EXPENSIVE! This is not a place I would stop by for drinks, especially cocktails. Ordered a Strawberry Field that was $ 12 and tasted watered down — too much ice. Can’t think of much to say because my visits seemed so… bland. I’ll have to try more of the food and/or the beer next time and see if it’ll change my mind. But $ 1 oysters on Wednesdays… now that’s something that I can’t say no to.

San Diego’s home for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Buffalo Bills if you want a place to watch the game. Must be 40 TVs in this place and all are huge brand new nice ones. Because of the tie to Buffalo, the wings are absolutely amazing, and I am a wing snob having spent a good chunk of time in upstate NY. This is one of 2 places in San Diego that I will eat wings(the other is Buffalo Wild Wings but they are a distant 2nd). Get your game and your wings on here!

During one of my trips to San Diego, we wanted to have a bite to eat and a few drinks before heading out to the beach. We decided to give Pacific Ale House a try. It’s very similar to BJ’s Brewery or Gordon Biersch, but in my opinion, better food and better service. We sat on the highest patio deck so we could get a good view of the ocean. Unfortunately, the view was partially blocked by some other buildings, but the breeze from the beach was refreshing. We decided to share the flight of five beers sampler for $ 12, which included gold, wheat, pale ale, amber, and porter; all of which were great! Our main course which we shared were the Porter BBQ Chicken Pizza, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and the Ale House Salad with Shrimp and Louis Dressing. The food was amazing! The pizza had tender pieces of grilled chicken, the Lobster Mac and Cheese was rich and creamy, and the salad had large pieces of shrimp(not to mention the dressing was great!) If you are ever in the Pacific Beach area, I would highly recommend coming here!

Love this place! Good food and drinks during the day and a fun place to go at night too! With it being PB, you can expect the typical crowd of young drinkers but it’s not as rowdy as a lot of the other places. I’ve always had great service here and never had any issues! Keep it up guys!

Fun, chill spot. No wait on Thanksgiving Day around 11:30am. We got a seat upstairs in the sun, but when it got a little chilly they went around and turned on the heat lamps. Service was good. Food was good, no big wow-factor though. THECOST: $ 76.84 before tax/tip for 1 cocktail, 2 beers, 1 starter, 1 entrée, and a Thanksgiving prix-fixe meal($ 22.95). See my photos for extra info! * Spicy Pear — 3.5 stars Exactly as described, spicy and pear-flavored. Wish it had more herby flavors to complement the pear; it’s not the most complex drink, but it works. * Rattlesnakes(bacon wrapped jalapenos, achiote cream cheese. Served w/ranch. $ 10.95) — 3.5 stars Tasty, with a crispy thick bacon and melty cheese inside the jalapeño. But this is very spicy, and very hot! Be careful eating these right away. * Grilled Fish Tacos(marinated mahi, chipotle aioli, jalapeño cream, purple cabbage, papaya mango salsa, cotija cheese, flour tortilla. Served w/corn & black bean skillet. $ 12.95) — 4 stars I liked the lightly charred flour tortillas. This gave them a little crisp while remaining flexible to wrap around the filling. The fish was great, mango salsa tasty, and we loooved the corn & black bean skillet. * Lobster Bisque — 2 stars This seemed to come straight from the can, with no pieces of actual lobster. Very blah flavor. * Thanksgiving menu(Deep fried turkey breast. Served with persimmon apple sausage stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes and turkey gravy, cranberry orange relish, bacon tasted almond green beans. $ 22.95 w/2 additional courses) — 3 stars The turkey, despite being deep fried, was still extremely dry. The best part was the Bacon Toasted Almond Green Beans. The bacon came in tiny chunks packed with flavor and crunch, and the green beans retained their sharp crispness. * Pumpkin Pie(w/cinnamon whipped cream) — 2 stars Pretty bad. The filling was gelatin-like in texture. Saving grace was the crust, which was buttery and dense.

Ended our visit to SD w/food and drinks here! It was packed, but we were able to score a table rooftop area. Great view and atmosphere. This place is laid back and chill. Cool to just come hang out with friends and just soak up the SD sun.

This is the go-to alehouse in San Diego for my man and I love it too. This is a very upbeat trendy restaurant and bar packed with delicious food and a great bar. In fact they have two bars, one downstairs and the one upstairs. Downstairs becomes more of a club after hours and they stop serving food at 10 pm I believe. We’ve only come here on weekends. There’s valet parking outside and you have your 20-something crowd to your 40-something crowd partying it up. I have no complaints on the staff; every time I left smiling. One time the waitress let the coffee and my virgin drink be on her since I was declared DD by the husband yet again. I LOVE the crab sandwich on the menu(must try) and the jalapeño wrapped in bacon stuffed with goat/cream cheese reminded me of the same exact way my dad makes them. The food is spectacular. No doubt my hubby will have us coming here when we’re in San Diego again and I really won’t mind. The location rocks too. So if you’re down to have drinks, good food, then walk up and down the beach shore or hit the other bars nearby check this place out. Start here. Off note — be-careful hanging out at the beach too long after hours kids… my innocent eyes saw too many horn-humans out there. While the man thought it was hilarious and threatened to do the same I was mortified. Nevertheless I love this Alehouse. Right ON the beach so you have your fresh air when sitting upstairs and enjoying the company of loved ones. And it’s an excuse to doll up a little, so ladies bust out the cocktail dress and sexy jumpsuit’s.

I visit the Alehouse usually once a month. I enjoy the atmosphere there. The food there is delicious and the bar staff is very nice. The security staff there has really been surprisingly professional. A fella there named Ryan F. Is the most professional bouncer I have ever seen. One minute with him and you can tell that this guy takes great pride in his work. The alehouse is my preferred choice for music amd libations. Thanks again Ryan for beimg the professional host that you are and i look forward to seeing you again for the next big holiday. Peace
