TRIED to make an order, guy took down my number, found my address in their system, told me how long the wait would be.. . after waiting 15 minutes after the estimated time for delivery I called to check. No one had put the order in. Guy on the line puts me on hold until someone else gets on. He has all kinds of noise and static on his end, but he blames me and my phone instead. Hung up in disgust. Papa Johns– You can’t even give these guys your money.

I’ve ordered from a small town in Texas and the pizza and driver were great. Here in San Diego the opposite is true. Cold pizza that had been turned upside down, and a rude driver. Why is this? I won’t order from Papa Johns in San Diego again, which is too bad.

Called this location, they said they don’t deliver to my location. Called the location they recommended, they also don’t deliver to this location. Had papa johns last week, at my current location. Thanks for the help…

In town for two months and I couldn’t leave for a proper meal. The driver was a very rude lady who didn’t appreciate her 30% courtesy tip as she didn’t make an effort to smile or offer plates or crushed peppers. Pizza was cold, flavorless and made me vomit. Better ingredients, better pizza. HA! I’d be happier with pretzels from the hotel’s vending machine.

Such a disappointment. While there are so many options for food in San Diego, sometimes you just want a simple, inexpensive meal, so Papa Johns sounded like a good option. However, this was the biggest waste of money. First, I specifically left driver instructions requesting not to forget pepper and parmesean cheese packets. What happened? They forgot. When the driver came, I asked about it and his response«We ran out.» Really??? So fine, but then the driver proceeded to walk away without giving me change for the twenty. Yes, I actually had to ask for my change(which was just shy of $ 5). Afterwards, I brought the pizza inside and opened it up to find all of the toppings, cheese and all, slide to one side of the pizza with more than half in the corner of the box although it was carried sideways like a briefcase. Not a huge deal unless half the pizza had meat and the other half veggies for the vegetarian with us. The result was a completely indistinguishable pile of toppings with some pizza bread covered only in sauce. For a fast food establishment competing with local restaurants, I would have expected at least a little better service and quality. If you have a choice, avoid this location and spend your money elsewhere.

I didnt get his name but there’s a black guy in there with a light skin tone that displays a lot of positive energy and great customer service, very fun to order with! He also brought my pizza to my car which was really nice… this place is recommended for sure, never disappointed. The pizza is my favorite out of the franchise chains… pizza hut and dominos can not compare. Fair pricing as well. Will be coming again in the future.

THESEDELIVERYDRIVERSARECREEPS. My biggest issue isn’t even that the last two times I’ve ordered from them, they didn’t deliver my order, it’s the creepy stuff their drivers say! I’ve only had this happen with Papa Johns drivers, and it’s happened multiple times! The first instance, I got a Facebook friend request from the driver an hour after my delivery. I didn’t know him, so he must have looked me up online with my order info. The second instance, the driver made a comment about how easy it would be to unlock my front door by force. The third instance, the driver made a comment about how easily he could cut the decorative ropes at my complex and break right in. The fourth instance, the driver forcibly jumped the gate instead of calling me to be let in. These were all different drivers. WHATISWRONGWITHYOUREMPLOYEES?!? As for the non-delivery, I live in a gated complex and give them my phone number so I can meet them at the gate, and the last two times I’ve waited around for an hour before calling them only to hear that they«tried calling» but got no answer.

We’ve had nothing but good experience with this place. They always deliver my pizzas piping hot and it’s good. Ordering online is nice and easy.

I feel bad that everyone has had such a bad experience here… I come here at LEAST once a week, sometimes once every few weeks. The staff knows me by name and they place my order as soon as I walk in. Nice and friendly environment and in my opinion Papa J’s pizza is awesome! Second best next to Costco pizza…

Cannot eat at this place. Since I moved to the area this place delivers in I have had 3 pizzas. Every single one tasted decently good. But every single one has also given me a messed up night. Last night had to be the worst of them all. Its been 12 hours since I had the pizza and it still feel messed up(sparing all details im sure yall get the hint) it maybe more expensive but there are alot better options out there

So its Monday night and working in the nightclub business Mondays are a good night to order a pizza and watch movies from home. After looking on Grub Hub I decided for the price it would be better to go with Papa Johns and walk to my local store. I ordered through the website and they asked cash or credit and I opted for cash. There were no restrictions mentioned. When I got to the store at 6:30pm in the evening I saw a sign saying they do not take bills over $ 20. Had I known this I would have brought something other then the $ 100 I had with me. I was told to go to the taco shop a few stores down and they would break it for me. What ridiculous statement to make. No wonder this Papa Johns location has the lowest rating of the 15 others in the area. You mean to tell me a mom and pop taco show with an old women working the counter is more comfortable taking tenders of large bills over the corporate chain that has an automatic locking door? I understand if the policy was after a certain time but at the hour I was there I think its absurd. After telling me to go to the taco shop to break my large bill they were okay with letting me leave without the pizza instead of giving me the change for a $ 20 pizza. Better ingredients(questionable), Better Pizza(at least its consistent), Better customer service, not so much!

A while back, my wife and I called in an order from this Papa John’s and they said it would be ready for pick up in 25 minutes. 30 minutes later, we went to the store to pick it up. When we paid at the counter, the employee said it was in the oven and would be ready in a few minutes. We waited about 15 minutes, then asked again if the pizza was ready. The employee told us it would still be a while because the pizza had actually never been placed in the oven. My wife asked the employee if we could get a discount due to the extra long wait time. The employee said we would have to pay full price, but she would send us a coupon in the mail for our next order. That was a lie, we were never sent a coupon. Tonight we made the mistake of ordering from that Papa John’s again. This time we placed an order for delivery. The employee on the phone said it would be at our house in 35 – 45 minutes. Over an hour later, the pizza finally showed up, and it was cold. Worst Papa John’s ever. Needless to say, we will never order from that place again.

This franchise gets 1 star just because their drivers are rude and inconsiderate… and the management/owner of the franchise does nothing about it. They share a parking lot with multiple other business, and parking is at a premium. Despite this, their drivers routinely take up multiple parking spots. Every time I visit this shopping center there are at least 3 – 4 delivery drivers parked in all the prime spots… right in front of their store and other stores next to them. Their pizza is typical Papa John’s pizza, nothing special or unique

This is the fast food chain of pizzas. You can’t expect much with quality ingredients such as artichoke hearts and unique sauces but if you want a quick 10 minute pizza that will deliver this your place. I went inside on the slower hours and this is one of the cleaner stores I ventured into. I got helped and was out of the store in 10 minutes for one large pizza with the trimmings. The person helping me was courteous and quick but I was the only customer so I wouldn’t think any less. Nonetheless I get what expect from a pizza chain neither great nor bad. Great service but it is just another fast food joint. If your shooting for quality pies you need to head to the mom and pop pizza joints. If your looking to fill your tummy with pizza then this may be your place. Enjoy and I hope this helps.

If I could give this unprofessional place zero stars I would! Worst papa johns ever! Ordered online, ordered wings with order and I didn’t even get ranch. The box was specifically labeled add ranch. I called the store and the guy said he would send the driver back out, I never got an apology. Long story short they never brought me ranch! Poor customer service!!!

Disappointed X5. Perhaps the Holidays threw them a staffing curve. It was slow service all around, from frazzled order, server and pizza slingers. While I might ordinarily give two stars for the efforts from these overwhelmed staff, the absence of clear management gets no pass. Who is checking the product as it leaves the kitchen? The dough was chalky and flavorless around the edges and soggy in the center. The sauce might as well have been ragu brand from a can and it was primarily in the center where what little cheese was to be had sat. Chintzy –two or three bites of soggy«flavor» and the next two-thirds of the slice is basically unflavored chalk. My friend said this was a chain. I had never been to one, but I think they need to work on their ingredients. Most chains get pre-made items from a distribution chain. If the dough comes prepared in a mix, they seriously need to rethink the mix. There are better places for Pizza in San Diego(and probably wherever one of these is located). Or maybe they were just having an off day. But chain Pizza joints don’t get a pass for being off. They should have it down like clockwork.

I don’t know why everyone is complaining. This is one of the cleanest pizza places I have been to. I mean, WOW. It was spotless when I walked in, brightly lit. The customer service was so friendly and courteous. I am a fan of this place now! The pizza and breadsticks I ordered were made on time and the meal honestly was so delicious. I got home and the presentation was great when I opened the boxes. I have never had such a pleasant experience getting a pizza on carryout.

Ordered delivery last night and I am glad that I did. The driver was on time, they remembered all the extras that I requested, Parmesan, spice, dipping sauce. The driver was friendly and the pizza was hot. Overall it was a good experience. Will definitely order again!
