Date of visit: 1÷23÷2016 Christine and I were pretty hungry after getting our nails done at Terri’s, so we wanted something quick, warm, and delicious. Pasta Espresso fit the bill perfectly. The restaurant looks a little run down from the outside, but when you step inside, it’s really homey and the equipment used to make FRESH pasta is in plain sight. We even got to see one of the employees making some fresh pasta, which was really cool. Angel Hair Pasta with Marinara Sauce and Veggies. The angel hair pasta is a bit thicker than what you would expect from a store bought box of pasta, but has all of the flavor of fresh pasta. I wasn’t a big fan of the mushrooms, but really liked the broccoli that came with the side of veggies. The salad was slightly overdressed, but was a nice compliment to the main course. Finally, the garlic bread was pretty good, but I was entering carb overload by the time I got around to eating it. Christine got the spinach fettuccine with pesto and really enjoyed her meal. She also got the side of veggies and mentioned that it really added more depth to the dish overall. There are jar of red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese by the water dispenser, which we missed out on, but weren’t really needed. The guy who brought out our plates(we were sitting on the patio) also brought out forks for us, which was really nice. Overall, definitely worth a visit if you’re not in the mood to make your own fresh pasta.

Pasta espresso is great. It’s been a while since I visited but Pasta espresso never disappoints. Like everyone else writes great deal for your $. You can get a filling meal for two for $ 11.95 this includes double the amount of meat, plus salad and bread. They have different sauces on different days so make sure to look up their menu ahead of time. One of my favorites is the Tacchino Rosa.

This place is an absolute hidden gem of pacific beach. They have the best pasta for everyone. It’s real pasta too, not the stuff you buy in a box at the supermarket. They use fresh ingredients daily so the menu is always changing. But one thing that is the same is its always DELICIOUS! If you haven’t already, you have to stop in and try it!!!

A nice secret gem in Pacific Beach. Friendly staff, great prices, bomb food. I recommend the Bolognese available on Wednesday and Thursday or the Tacchino Rosso available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The garlic bread and side salad are the perfect touch, if you’re hungry go for the large option. The best pasta in the area.

Food is amazing, all is homemade, guys working there are soo nice especially bold one, who is super friendly and super funny. Portions of the pasta are soooo big that me and my friend always take one big and share it. U have some cards and stuff to play, nice music and u feel like home. If there was a couch I would probably fall asleep

We got lucky and found easy parking. The two men working were friendly and helpful. The food was ready fairly quickly. The pasta was good and cooked al dente. I’ve had pasta I liked more elsewhere but this was good and I felt welcome while eating.

My family and I just moved to PB last week and after a long day of unpacking, we were looking for something quick, delicious and restorative. Pasta Espresso filled the bill perfectly! The staff was very friendly, telling us about the history of the place and even giving us free samples of all four of the day’s sauces. All noodles and sauces are made in house. Everything was incredible and the serving sizes were extremely generous. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should.

I go here on a regular basis. The pasta is so fresh– you can taste the home cooked freshness. The sauces are unbeatable and you get such a great deal for 10 bucks. Pasta, salad, and delicious bread stick. I love going here because the man behind the counter is so friendly and the collection of books and games are fun to browse over while you wait. The food almost comes up too quick haha :) I love this place!

He was literally making pasta while we were there, that’s how fresh the food is. The pasta was cooked to order and perfectly al dente, and the Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy like a good Alfredo should be. Fresh bread too! Great price, great experience!

This is one of our go to in PB when we are in need of comfort food(pasta) but don’t want to be around humans nor do we want to make it ourselves. My boyfriend first introduced me to Pasta Espresso about two years ago when we first met– it was one his go-to. I was a little apprehensive at first just because well if you’ve never been there the place is very small, hot, and not the most visually pleasing but well sometimes you need to not be uptight and remember that you’ve dined at some real hole in the walls before where you didn’t have a chair or a table so c’mon lets keep an open mind– so I did :) The staff at Pasta Espresso is super sweet and give you a big old smile right when you walk in– they are ready to help! We now usually call our order in ahead of time although I wouldn’t worry too much about calling ahead– it seems they have most of their sauces ready to go and simmering in the background. They have about 5 different sauces every day, that range from marinara, pesto, alfredo, Italian sausage and tacchino rosso among others– one of our favorites is the Tacchino Rosso. They also have 5 different types of pasta which you can mixed if you’d like, we usually get the red bell pepper fettucine. You can make your order a bonus meal for a few extra bucks to get a bigger serving and a small side salad, which is more than enough for the both of us. You can have a meal for two for about $ 11, not bad eh? I can see a lot of men going here since it’s definitely a cheap filling meal– but I usually crave it on a rainy day or after a long weekend.

What happens when you: 1. Need to work late(boo) 2. Crave pasta aka comfort carbs 3. Don’t want to drive too far in PB 4. Want to save some $$$ Solution: Pasta Espresso(yessss!) Thanks to Unilocal,I’ve found my new go to place for a quick and convenient place for pasta in PB. No, it’s not fast food. The pasta is house made and the sauces change daily. You also get the flexibility to choose different pastas(spinach/Red bell pepper/whole-wheat fettuccine, angel hair, and fiery spirals) and sauces to your liking(who says you can’t have it all?). All Pasta dishes come with a salad and garlic bread. All for $ 9.75! Or you can throw in an extra $ 2 for a «bonus meal» and get more pasta and sauce. I came on a Tuesday and the sauces available for that day included: marinara, Italian sausage, white clam, and pesto. I ended up getting a combo of Italian sausage and white clam sauce over spinach fettuccine. Everything was really tasty, I really liked the texture of the noodles and I let on going back and forth between the two sauces. My only regret was that I was in a rush and wasn’t able to dine in since they had indoor and outdoor seating options. Oh well… perhaps next time!

Fresh pasta, excellent service. Price is around $ 10 and its worth every penny. Not much parking in the area but you can find street parking within a reasonable distance. Still my favorite pasta place in all of San Diego!

It’s a simple pasta place. I went because my husband and I were craving pasta and we were in the area. I used Unilocal and it found this place. The pasta is fresh, the people are friendly, and the spicy noodle is bomb. I’ve never had a spicy noodle pasta. It’s different but a good different.

My favorite pasta place in PB. No contest. Homemade pasta & sauce, salad, and garlic bread for about $ 10. Great size portions too. I love how you have the option to pick your pasta, then your sauce(usually have 4 – 5 options to choose and the menu is slightly different daily). Whatever you get, the pasta is delicious. It’s fresh and homemade. I’ve tried almost everything(not the fire spiral pasta because I’m sensitive to spicy heat). For the pasta, I usually get the spinach fettuccine or the angel hair. For the sauce, the bolognese is so yummy and meaty, and the alfredo is creamy and with cheesy goodness. This pasta gem is slightly off the busy street of Garnet St. Just remember, Pasta Espresso is across the street from O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Store on the west side. Cheap, and amazing eats this place is. Enjoy!
