Alright… So lately PHO has been my thing… I’ve been craving it more than ever… and that is NOTNORMAL!!! My go to spot was just a little too far of a drive for me during my lunch break so I decided to Unilocal a closer PHO spot… I work in Linda Vista and it’s like little vietnam, so I figured any PHO spot that came up in this area was legit… PHOHOA didn’t disappoint! I ordered it for pick up and it was ready w/all the trimmings and sauces for me when I walked through the door. I got back to work and my soup was piping hot! The noodles, meat and onions were packaged away and of course out of excitement I dumped it all in the broth and it overflowed over my styrofoam bowl… The one thing I didn’t like was the prepackaged oyster sauce and rooster sauce. The downfall of taking phở to go are not having the right amount of sauces to add to your soup. The place puts both sauces together which I didn’t really care for but good thing the oyster sauce stays solid on top and i could pour it in my soup w/o the rooster sauce making it too spicy! All in all I would go here again and eat the phở inside… But I didn’t have enough time for lunch to enjoy it at their location… next time! Thanks Phở HOa!!!

Do not come here. Eating Phở around the world is my and my family’s hobby practically. Phở is not good here, just a lot of heavy noodles, broth was blah and egg rolls have no taste. I was impressed that they had coolantro. Thai tea was ok as well as the iced coffee which they served in the to go cup even though we stayed to eat. Bathroom stinks bad and is not maintained at all. Things can be old but clean and taken care of but not here. I’m not sure how this place passes health inspection. They refunded me the money for egg rolls, we ate two and my kids, pro phở eaters, would not have another bite. I agreed. It’s unfortunate because we are not judgmental and we eat in holes in the walls so we gave them the benefit and I was sold it would be good since the Vietnamese market was next door. Too bad. Nice people though.

Quick and easy go-to spot after a couple hours at Skateworld. Much more satisfying than nachos and popcorn! Decent phở tai– I don’t usually order anything else. Don’t order the phở bo kho unless you like your meat very very fatty. I usually like fat but this was too much even for me. A large phở tai feeds me plus 2 kids so the portions are good. I went recently with a friend and her son. We ordered a coconut drink, 1 large and 1 small phở tai and the check was $ 20! Where else can you feed 5 people that cheap! It’s fast, filling and the service is quick and the people are so nice. Nothing fancy here though. You need to ask for fish sauce or sa-te. Its not on the table like other restaurants. They leave rooster sauce(sriracha) and oyster sauce only. The place is clean but definitely worn looking. Plenty of parking and you can mix and match your meal with Thai from Sab-e-Lee next door or the Chinese dim sum place next to Thuan Phat market.

This is me and my fiancé’s go to phở place. We’re both from LA and so we have frequented quite a bit of phở places and this one is definitely a solid spot. If you’re looking for a quick place to eat and you don’t have much money, check this place out! The only thing that kind of sucks is that this phở place only takes cash. Still, you’re getting a solid bang for your buck; we always leave full and happy. The only thing better than cheap phở is free phở and Phở Hoa is a close second. They have this ambient vietnamese(?) music playing inside and it’s kind of a hole in the wall but the food is awesome. You can also ask for white onions on the side! Oh, and the servers are some of the nicest people. Not all of them speak english very fluently but they try their best! Remember: Bring cash!

No frills but still my go to phở spot. Tip: a small bowl is pretty large and can satisfy most people. Especially if you’re like me and order a full order of fried egg rolls(6 in an order). Generous with veggies and affordable. I always order the #1!

Last week I stopped by on the way home to get dinner to go… feeling in the mood for hot phở on a cold, rainy night. My first impression from the outside of the restaurant was that it was a bit outdated, but pretty cute, especially with their Christmas decorations. On the inside, it was still outdated, but also was an odd blue color, and the place just looked kind of messy to me… not the kind of environment that is particularly appetizing. I thought about turning around and walking out, as there was another phở restaurant nearby, but it was raining hard, so I decided to stay. I was greeted quickly and ordered seafood phở, beef and shrimp phở, and an order of spring rolls. I ordered and quickly placed down my debit card, only to be told that they accept cash only and that I could use their ATM machine. I wouldn’t have minded if this were an ice cream shop or a food cart, but for a restaurant, with an order of almost $ 30, that is kind of ridiculous. I scrounged around in my purse and found just enough cash to make exact change. The food came out, all wrapped to go, in less than 5 minutes. As far as the food, I liked the variety of seafood in my phở, but felt that there were too many noodles and not enough seafood. My husband had a hard time getting the beef in his soup to cook, and feared possibly eating raw meat. I did, however, like the spring rolls, and felt they were pretty generous with their shrimp and basil. It wasn’t a total fail, but I really doubt I’ll be going back, especially given the number of phở restaurants in San Diego

This is my usual Phở place. The best Phở consistently. The basil, bean sprouts and limes are always fresh. The broth is fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about the food here. The staff are wonderful and nice, the décor is charming and well worn, the Phở will always be better than most all Phở joints in town.

I’ve been coming to this place for years with my family, I’m not exactly sure why we first started coming here but we’ve never stopped. I think it goes without saying that the phở is delicious. Whenever the weather is cold I’m always in the mood for something hot, filling and delicious; the phở they make is always perfect for these times. It may sound silly but sometimes I crave a bowl of this phở right after I just ate some, weird or normal? To start off with I don’t know exactly how great all the other dishes on the menu are. I have ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, and phở exclusively. I may have tasted a pork chop dish ordered by one of my family members or other and I remember thinking it was alright. The spring rolls have always been very refreshing and tasty I can’t remember ever having dry rice paper or anything wrong with them. They’re always cool and crisp and had a healthy serving of peanut sauce to add to their flavor. The egg rolls are always piping hot when they come out and though they’re not like my grandmother’s, they’re quite tasty. As for the phở, the wondrous phở, the thing that makes it incomparable to any other(and believe me I’ve tried many)… even to that from Vietnam– I went to Vietnam and ate phở at a little street corner, it’s the broth. The broth has something some secret ingredient that makes it a more full bodied broth than any I have ever encountered. I honestly can’t tell what it is, but this broth is the best. The portion of noodles is always fantastic(people are sheisty and skimp on noodles – yes they are poopheads.) and the meat is always nice and tender. –Please note the phở I order does not contain many different meats just the thinly cut steak. If you’re looking for a nice place to go for a date maybe not this place… I say this because although the food is delicious the décor is weak. It has soft Vietnamese instrumental music playing at all times, it’s not bothersome or annoying but it is there. The ambience is casual if not a little on the quiet side, the restaurant is always clean but it’s not the prettiest place. Truth be told though it’s clean and doesn’t seem to have any problems with health risks it’s a little shabby. There are times when there’s a fly or two buzzing around, however this is due to the door being propped open on hot days. Parking is good because it’s a small business and in a so-so area(no judgment, I live nearby). The service is lovely, my family and I have always been met by at least two servers immediately. They’re courteous and fast with their seating and serving of meals. They don’t check up on you because you pay at the front. It is cash only. I forgot once when I went, but was able to pay with the small cash I had in my wallet because the prices are fairly low.

I love Phở Hoa. They have the fastest service. They have the huge bowls. They are of the same family as Phở Sao Bien in PB. Both are great choice. Cash Only. Try the pork chops.

Craving for a bowl of phở around the area, I decided to to hanker down here and have a bowl of delicious meal. Outside the restaurant they have chairs for their regular patrons but not dining area. Inside I was greeted with Vietnamese music and a smile from the staff. Place looks older than most phở restaurants but it was clean and well kept. Onto the menu, there are your standard viet food items and of course the phở. I ordered the Xtra large bowl special that comes with all sorts of the beef cut(flank, tripe, tendon, and meat ball). The broth tasted average and hot to the touch. Meat tasted also mediocre as well. The star anise was not overbearing but I could feel the msg marching to my fingers and head. Thus the msg headache approached me. After drinking several glasses of water, I couldn’t finish the howl. My conclusion would be that I wouldn’t drive out my way to get here. But if I were to come again, I would probably make sure that I schedule a nap time after eating at this place. I literally just woke up not too long ago to write this review after being tranquilized from that bowl of phở. Make sure you have a get a designated driver just in case you get really sleepy after eating the phở.

this is the best phở around town! They get your phở out to you within 5 minutes and keep your water refilled. The phở broth was perfect and the prices are very inexpensive.

A classic where the ratio of Asian to not is at least 15:1. My kind of place. This is a Phở only place and the broth is tasty. Inside, the meat is just so– so but i have yet to find noticeably better. I come once a month or so so you can guess that i like it. But sometimes its just laziness when i am in the area and their food is always exactly the same. No surprises!

The phở was good(I ordered large #1). Spring rolls and 3 bean drink was as expected. The only ding is that they don’t take credit cards. It’s 2015 y’all…come on now, how can you not take credit cards.

I found a piece of plastic in my egg roll. The guy try to throw it out and tell me that it is just a piece of dry rice paper. I know what a dry rice paper is and it was not a dry rice paper. I even soaked it in water to see if it would soften up just hoping that they are right. It was A large piece of plastic!!! So I try to talk to him again. This time he didn’t even look at me and just walked away, mumble something. I will NEVER come back again. I suggest you don’t neither unless you want to try their plastic eggrolls.

This is all I’m going to say: I found a baby cockaroach in my phở bowl. Now I’m traumatized and wonder if the next bowl of phở I eat(at a different location of course) is going to be prepared in a dirty kitchen.

Hands down the best phở I’ve had in San Diego. The place itself is nothing to look at but the food is worth trying. Their egg rolls are perfection and their iced teas are delicious. They only take cash so come prepared — although they did just put an ATM inside but it charges 3.50!

Good customer Service The Fresh made lemonade was very good as well as the clear broth soup I was given with my dinner. The main course #31 Shrimp with Vermicelli definitely left something to be desired. It had very little flavor, and small flavorless shrimp. I would come back here If I was feeling sick, it was cold out, or I lived closer etc. If I was craving the light, but comforting soup. Would not order the #31 again.

Really cheap food on the menu here! Décor is def outdated and service was fast as lightning but my bun bo hue was alright. Not the best but not the worst. I can see why no one has posted anything about their bbh. When I got the soup it was thick and murky and no saté(reddish color) in my bbh. It was mediocre. I’ll come back though, bc the majority of the reviews are based on phở, so I’m sure that’s their specialty.

The restaurant name doesn’t lie. The menu mainly consists of phở and a few other Viet dishes so you won’t be overwhelmed when ordering. I thought it was a great place. Fast service. Good food. Decent price. Like many asian restaurants, it’s cash only. I had one of the rice dishes that comes with rice, grilled pork slices, & steamed egg. With it, also comes a cup of the phở broth. It was flavorful. You could really taste the beef. I also like the dipping sauce for the pork which tastes like sweetened fish sauce. Nothing fancy. Just good fast viet food.
