Very slow service. Everyone seems to be busy but still took 15 min to get my food. It’s a Thursday at 2:00! Need to be move more efficiently

This restaurant works in a pinch however the food seems to be over seasoned. I had one of the chicken meals and it was loaded with sugar and very runny. I have been here several times and it always seems to be consistent. Customer service is ok and the restaurant has always been kept clean and tidy.

I do not normally write bad reviews, even if I had a lousy experience or the food was bearable, but this was by far the worst, most awful, and distasteful Chinese food I’ve ever had. This chain restaurant needs to rethink its brand or get out of the food business all together. My family and I ordered the«family style» meal(online order to-go) and it was simply unpalatable. I will not go into details about each dish, but I can safely assume – with a high degree of certainty – all the dishes at this chain restaurant are just as horrible.

Love this location was a little hidden but still found it. My favorite meal is the kun pow chicken with noodles. They have great customer service the gentle men that helped me named Jesus. I wished all the pick up stix can be the same as this location. Definitely recommend this location. Great service

If you need Chinese food in a pinch and don’t want to travel too far, this is the place. I got the Orange Chicken with brown rice dinner. The chicken was a little too sweet for me but it wasn’t breaded too much like orange chicken I’ve had elsewhere. They give you healthy portions for dinner that you can definitely save fro lunch the next day(bonus if you’re a bachelor who doesn’t cook). The service was great but the time to get the food out out could have been a little faster.

I was on a mission to get some Rita’s, but I needed real food first. So I stopped in here as it was next door. I have always been a fan of Asian food, and the recent uptick in «trendy» places has raised the level of expectations from the old mom and pop joints. The restaurant itself is large and they have many options. As I had no clue what I wanted, I took the order girl’s advice and went with the thai coconut curry and paid to upgrade from white to fried rice. The food came out after about a quick 5 minutes, and was delivered to my table as a lot of fast casual places are doing now. It is a nice touch, except that they bring it sans any silverware or napkins… so right back to where the food came from you go! The portion was fairly generous, and I was unable to finish the rice. The veggies were fresh and the chicken was pretty good. The rice was very lackluster for being a «fried» rice. It had a little egg thrown into it and was just overcooked and mushy. Overall, I would put this at a step just below the Panda. At least with the Panda, you get to see what you are ordering ahead of time and pick from the line. The fortune cookie was very good. That would probably have to be the highlight of this meal. If I am in a jam and have no other options, I would be willing to try another dish. Until then, there are way too many asian options out there… stick with them.

I usually really love Pick Up Stix because it is yummy, consistent and quick. However, my recent visit to the Clairemont location was disappointing. I had the original house chicken lunch special which came with noodles and two wontons. With a drink, the total was just under $ 10 which seemed higher than I remembered but oh well. The service was lack luster — no smiles, welcome or thank yous at all. After ordering, they give you a number to put on your table and then they bring your food. Our lady was taking one order at a time from counter to table and seemed to be half asleep. Nobody asked if I needed anything else and only brought me a flimsy plastic fork with no chop sticks — when in Rome!!! I’ll go back because I like the house chicken but I’ll order plain rice next time(the noodles were so heavily drenched in soy and sweet sticky sauce that I couldn’t eat them). I hope the manager will read this and have the staff put on some new attitudes :)

Good food for the price served fresh! Always a good option when wanting something hot and fresh. Good classic meals along with great heathy steamed option too!

Pick up stix is delicious and has many different options. They are very accommodating to what the customer wants and will make it fresh how you like. They are always adding new items to there menu so I can always mix it up. I will come back again and again.

For some reason there is a big difference in the quality of the food at different locations. This used to be my favorite but it has changed dramatically. When I got our dinner to go about 6 months ago we were so disappointed I vowed never to go back. I was in the area yesterday around dinner time and decided to give it another try. Blech :(Everything tasted… old and heavy are the words that keep coming to mind. I thought my husband, who eats anything, would have the leftovers tonight but even he didn’t want any more, so I just put the rest down the disposal. I won’t be going back

Literally the best Chinese takeout I’ve had in my life. Very fresh vegetables and tasty food. Not nearly as salty as other Chinese food restaurants. Don’t understand the bad reviews except maybe the chef had a bad day?

I love pick up Stix food! But this location has got to have the worst customers Service I’ve ever experienced. Both on the phone and in person, both employees and the manager, were rude and too busy to provide good customer service.

The food is okay, the customer service is okay, but what prompts me to write a Unilocal review is how they have gotten a little crazy about giving you sauce for wontons and potstickers. On my last visit, my order(for an entire family) included two 6-piece wontons and 1 order of potstickers. I got two little cups of the dipping sauce with — I shit you not — less than a teaspoon of sauce in each. Is there gold in this sauce? Saffron? Some rare or expensive ingredient that I don’t know of? Because even if each family member got a cup, for goodness sake, it’s DIPPING sauce and you can’t dip if there’s just enough liquid to make a thin layer across the bottom of the little 1 oz cup! So, anyway, Pick Up Stix. I’d like some dipping sauce with your overpriced wontons. A full .5 oz would be awesome. Thank you.

I always call ahead to pick up my order. I usually get the same thing. I’m in and out in less than 2 minutes! My order is always right and tasty. The only down fall is their prices are really high! But that doesn’t stop me from eating there! lol I will most likely be back in the next few weeks.

The first thing I noticed when entering the restaurant was the strong odor of roaches. Having been in the pest control business for 5 years I know a lot of restaurants have this problem so I proceeded to order. The portion I received for almost 10.00 was ridiculously small, the rice was cold and the orange beef was almost inedible. I threw almost half of it away. This restaurant used to be good. They had lines going out the door during lunch and dinner rushes. When I walked in I thought wow! I missed the rush! Um no. I got there at 1200 and at 1230 there was only myself and one other customer. The best thing in the meal was the little fortune cookie which was pre packaged cellophane. Needless to say I will not be coming here again. Ever. Sorry apperantly my phone has a mind of its own on when to take a picture. Apologies

I just had lunch with a friend, I was served left over cold food, when I asked the cashier If this food is made to order. She was not sure. If you like fresh made to order food, this might not be the right place.

As I suck down another tablespoon of Pepto, I wonder two things: 1) Why did I go to Pick Up Stix? 2) Why isn’t this on the Maverick badge list? Because it is certainly a contender! The staff was great, but the food is just awful. So much sauce on my Kung Pao chicken that I could literally pour it off my plate. The veggies were fresh, but just lost in a sea of brown goo. I should have gone to one of the local establishments run by a Mom & Pop than going to this chain. Someone should fix that kitchen!!!

My lunch portion of curry chicken with brown rice for $ 6.89 was tasty and fresh at Pick Up Stix in the Clairemont town square. I was in a big hurry and asked the staff what’s the best thing on the menu? Spicy or not, the guy asked me? Spicy, I said. Definitely the Curry chicken, said the helpful guy. I dove into my curry chicken and was pleased with the flavors, and the broccoli and green beans were good in the sauce and had a nice crunch. It’s yummy but actually NOT very spicy. The lunch portion is a little small but it’s enough for me. I tasted my granddaughter’s kids honey chicken. It was properly cooked and fresh, although being deep-fried and breaded, it’s clearly not the healthiest choice. No MSG! 5 stars for good service, and 3 stars for decent«fast food Asian fusion» for the price. It’s neither the best nor the worst in the area. I’ve actually had worse food at PF Changs near UTC La Jolla for twice the price! This isn’t my first visit. But this is my first visit since I became an active Unilocaler. I recommend this location if you want easy parking at lunch time, decent«fast food Asian fusion», and lunch for less than $ 7. This is fast food so don’t expect gourmet!

I find myself coming here from time to time to grab their Kung Pao chicken. If I have a choice between driving to Convoy area to get authentic Chinese and getting a headache when trying to find parking, and also making a stop at my bank to get cash for those establishments, this Pick Up Stix comes in as a convenient winner. And as much as I love Dede’s and Spicy City I am not sure if they are«no msg». And this place is! Also the service is always simply amazing. They cashier is always so nice and attentive, they also bring food to the table and even check on you throughout the meal. If you have left overs they will kindly bring a bag for you. The Kung Pao chicken that I always get is flavorful, but not too spicy and not too salty, with good amount of veggies and chicken. I really dig that simple, thick sauce that it comes with. And it’s always nice to have a brown rice option. Give them a try, they are great!
