They should change their name to «Bad Pizza Boss». You’re better off going to the store & getting a Tombstone Frozen Pizza & making it yourself. I got my pizza home & it was Cold & Partially Uncooked. I took it back & the 2nd Pizza was Cooked but still tainted with the knowledge that they would let a Pizza like that first one go out the door unless they think their customers are stupid with no eyes or tastebuds.(I should’ve checked my pizza before leaving I know) If it’s good pizza you’re looking for, then go to Lefty’s in Mission Hills or even the Hilton on Mission Bay(yeah the Hilton) has Great Wood Fired Pizzas in Olives their restaurant. Save your time and money. There’s far better Pizza out there, don’t settle for the Gross Boss. You’ve been warned.

I often visit before class. House salad, slice of Za and a drink for under $ 10. Today the ladies were excited for perfectly cooked chicken. And indeed the sample was Devine. Cheers for the smiles of simple perfection.

Got a pie delivered today. It was the first time eating from pizza boss. Called up and the guy said it would be here in the hour. I’m right down the street from there pacific coast hi-way location. The delivery driver was chill. Asked him if he ate the pizza before. He said it was Bomb. He was right. Ordered the goodfellas pizza. It was tasty. I will return.

I am so disappointed! My husband has been wanting to try this place for ever. It’s the kind of place you see off the freeway after you’ve passed it so its usually an afterthought. Anyway, we decided to drop in today for some lunch. I almost ordered a whole pie online and was very glad I didn’t. We stepped in and the place was pretty dingy. We ended up ordering a few slices. It was noon and they had just one pizza ready(for slice customers) which was half cheese and half meats/cheese. Not a great selection and very underwhelming. Maybe we should have left then but it had been on our list to try for a while. Last I looked the Unilocal reviews were great. Clearly its gone downhill since then. The guy working was really nice and very polite. He said the employees had slacked the day before and he was trying to compensate. He seemed like a hard worker so I’m giving the place 2 stars for his efforts. The pizza was very sad. Totally flavorless and completely greasy. I was not impressed at all. If you are in the mood for a slice or two, check out Surfrider Pizza in OB or Bronx Pizza in Mission Hills/Hillcrest. Pizza Boss is a waste of time.

I got delivery from Pizza Boss, and wouldn’t do so again. What I remember from my childhood of lunch pizza in public schools is what I’d compare this to. The tangy cheese tastes weird, and the spongy crust does not hold the toppings well. It wasn’t a total abomination, but pretty damn close. Delivery to my place downtown was fast, and everyone I dealt with was pleasant. I know Pizza Boss has a good reputation in these parts, but their pizza is simply not for me.

This place is mediocre. I ordered the meatball calzone & Gambinos BBQ pizza. Garlic knots came free with my order and were the best of the 3 items. Delivery took 1:20mins after being quoted 45−60mins. Wasn’t even hungry by the time it arrived and was ready for bed. The calzone was alright. The meatballs tasted like the frozen grocery store kind and the dough was on the soggy/oily side. The pizza was just plain bad. It was suppose to be chicken, onion, and BBQ. Mine tasted like reg pizza sauce was used and way too much not enough of the other toppings. Burnt around the edges. Overall plain disappointing. Should’ve just skipped dinner since I ended up throwing most of it out and giving my dogs the rest.

What’s sad is had the food actually been on time, and hot — they probably would have gotten a stellar review. 45 – 60 minutes was the estimated delivery time and it took over an hour and a half for the food to get here. At the one-hour fifteen minute mark I called to check status. I was told a «few minutes». 25 minutes later… finally our food arrived. They forgot the wings and had called because two of the three desserts on their website, as advertised, were not available. The cheesecake is a measly half slice of something from a box. The restaurant did not reimburse me for forgetting wings, rather Eat24 the delivery service did. Eat24 called the restaurant and they refused a credit, so Eat24 and NOT Pizza Boss also graciously gave me a credit since the wings were forgotten and pizza was late and cold. Pizza Boss could learn from their graciousness. We won’t order or patronize this place again. EPICFAIL.

Great thin crust pizza at a reasonable price with quick carry service. It was $ 12.99 for a 16 inch 2 topping with garlic knots. The pizza was a great change from the chain stores. The only thing I did not like was the explicit music playing loudly. I had my 2 young kids with me and the music was not appropriate for a family atmosphere. We were going to dine in but carried out because of the music. Recommend changing music or we will not return. F bombs are not okay for my 4 and 2 year old to hear.

This pizza WOULDHAVEBEENAWESOME the flavor showed that it had a lot of potential BUTITWASBURNT!!! The wings were ordered to BECRISPYNOTSLIMY. They seemed like the were boiled and tossed in some sauce. They didnt have the potential the pizza did. NEEDLESSTOSAY my family and I are SOEXTREMELYDISSAPPOINTED in our first experience here. Not sure if we want to do this again. ***THE sad part is my son and I was in the shop the entire time they were cooking it. We were actually right there in their line if sight and they somehow BURNEDOURPIZZA. I dont know what to say but UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Firstly, the pizza is very good if you like a very thin crust. The ingredients tasted fresh and good quality. That being said, the facility was simply incomplete. The soda machine had no ice which I wasn’t warned about before buying soda. The A/C didn’t seem to be working right or was not turned up enough. My suggestion would be to either be carry out or delivery only or only offer dine in when the facilities can handle it. If you get pizza here do yourself a favor and take it home. Great tasting pie but not a great place to dine at.

I am so sad! With all the great reviews I thought this place would be amazeballs! We ordered 2 pizzas for delivery and received our pizza 2 hours later… SOCOLD! It was my birthday and we waited 2 hours for cold pizza at full price even after calling at the hour and a half mark to see what was going on. Seriously?! When someone calls after 1.5 hours you comp the cold pizza! Happy birthday to me! So… NOTTHEBOSS

Pretty good pizza. Nice employees. But I don’t think they have a clock. First order I called in was for pick up. They said it would be ready in 20 minutes. Great. Got there in 20 minutes, and waited another 20 minutes. That’s fine. I wasn’t in a rush. Second time I ordered for delivery. I’m still waiting as we speak. Ordered through the Eat24 app which I have used before. Estimated time of delivery was 45−60min. After 1 hr and 20 min, I was told they were on their way. After 1hr 45min, I was told they were on their way AGAIN and I would receive a $ 5 discount. So 2hrs and 15min later, I’m still waiting. Good pizza, but NOT worth the wait. If you really like their pizza, walk in and order by the slice. DONOT use their delivery option. **UPDATE** According to the person that answered the phone, they were having a bad night. One of the drivers was in a car accident(because of the rain?) and the one driver left was making up for it. My order still left the restaurant over 2hrs after it was ordered. I felt bad for the driver because you could tell he was very flustered. We still tipped him. I wish we would’ve received a courtesy call at some point letting us know that they were backed up. That would’ve been appreciated.

I’m continually unimpressed with this place and my last visit was was exactly that, my last. I went in at lunch time to get a couple slices. The pizzas in the case always look old and sweaty. The slices reheat ok, but don’t look appetizing prior to reheating. I found a pretty good looking pie and popped my head up from the case, only to find an older guy and two kids apparently arguing. I stood there for about a minute as the three of them occasionally glanced at me. They were locked in some type of non-verbal, three-way Mexican standoff. No one was talking, but it was obviously heated between them. I was the only customer in there so it wasn’t like they were busy. I’m about to leave, but am so baffled by what’s going on, I kind of want to stay and ride out the weirdness. The older guy finally yells at one of the kids to take all pizzas out of the case, and the kid turns to me and says, «I’m sorry, I don’t know what is going on.» Either someone touched raw chicken and then made pizzas, or it was a mafia training exercise on how to scare away customers. I turn tail and walk my ass to the burrito shop. It was an interesting experience, but I can get cardboard and ketchup from a lot of places, I might as well go to one that wants customers.

The Pizza is good … but their delviery sucks. This is the third time I have ordered from them the first two times it was delivered later then what they said it would be(I live less then a mile from them) and this time they just decided not to deliver my Pizza at all. Oh well, if you do order from them get the John Gotti Pizza but don’t be too surprised when they decide not to deliver it.

When I work out like a boss I eat like one. Ok… This place is right next to my gym so I figured I would give it a whirl. I was curious because this location isn’t really full of people walking around looking for a slice. I decided to try their online ordering system. I put in my order online and put that I wanted it to be ready once I was out of class. Easy! I was a little bit afraid showing up because I didn’t know how good they were doing things on time. No problem! They had my order ready. Pizza: great price. I have weird tastes so I got a cheese and pineapple pizza. I like they have thin crust. No the crust isn’t so good where they will command tons of fans waiting each night outside their door. But it was good. The sauce was zesty, which I liked. I dislike a sweet sauce. They put ample cheese on my pizza… I mean a ton. Next time I will go with light cheese. Pineapple was from a can and just the way mom used to «make.» I got an extra large and it was. I made a few meals out of it which was the plan. Side garden salad: pretty good size for the $ 3.50 price. Standard. The only thing is in it picture it had wax peppers. This one did not. I had a craving for them and when I got home and saw what had happened I was almost inconsolable. It’s like meeting an online date and in their pic they were in much better shape than in person. They have 2 liters and individual drinks. Service: besides my pepper disappointment I would say service is good. It would have been nice if they gave me a bag to help tote all the stuff I ordered to my car. Yeah, I would come here again. A girls gotta eat!

Pizza is something I typically avoid in San Diego. It’s never as good as I want it to be. I grew up in NY and usually only eat it when I’m back East. Maybe once a month or every other, my husband talks me in to ordering a pie here. I really wanted Hoboken in PB(the best NY style pizza I’ve had in SD), but I was tired and didn’t want to make the 40 minute round trip drive to PB. So we ended up ordering Pizza Boss. We picked it up because I like it fresh out of the oven and it’s usually hotter for pick-up orders. Pizza Boss is decent cheap pizza. The staff is friendly. They have jalapenos(I won’t eat at Bronx because they do not offer any type of hot pepper. I’m not picky; I’ll take pepperoncini, banana or cherry peppers). Overall, I enjoyed the pizza. The crust was cracker thin, a bit too thin for me. I like thin crust but this was downright crispy. There wasn’t an abundance of cheese, which I think amplified the crispy crust. But thanks to less cheese, it wasn’t greasy. The flavor was decent. It didn’t satisfy my craving for NY pizza, but it was tasty. And it was damn cheap. You can’t beat $ 12 for a pizza, unless you go to one of the big delivery three: Dominos, Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. Pizza Boss was much better than any of those places. If you are tight on cash and want pizza, this would be a great option.

Down the street from the Vespa shop and next door to an adult novelty store. HMMM strange location but good food. Delicious thin crust pizza with gobs of cheese. You walk in and the pizza in the case doesn’t look very appetizing but a miracle happens when they put it in the oven. The pizza comes back to life and it tastes absolutely scrumptious. $ 4.99 for their lunch special will get you either 2 slices of pizza or a pizza, a salad, and a drink. Ny Style.

We were looking for a local pizza joint that raved about it’s New York style thin crust, had a good deal and didn’t have a long wait for a last minute pizza. They delivered on every area we were looking for; thin crust, low cost and super quick service, but the taste was greatly lacking! We ordered a simply cheese pizza and yuck! I couldn’t even finish one slice. There was NO sauce, none at all, it was basically melted cheese on bread. And the grease that dripped off just that one slice could have soaked up a whole roll of paper towels — it was gross. The cheese was okay, but nothing spectacular and the dough, as James B said was, «chewy, dry and lacks flavor». Sorry Pizza Boss, we won’t be back :(
