Point Loma Landscape

In 2010 Pt Loma Landscaping did a fabulous job in landscaping and putting in a stucco and wrought iron fence. Around 3 years later the fence started cracking and numerous phone calls and emails to Tony (owner) for over a month went unanswered. Eventually we contacted an attorney, and this elicited the response and necessary actions to repair our fence to our satisfaction. Fast forward to now (Jan 2016). Heavy El Nino rains resulted in flooding into our garage from backed up outside drainage. The plumbing company who came to fix the outside drainage said that who-​ever put in the drainage system (Pt Loma Landscaping) did not properly route the drain. We made calls (and sent an email) to Pt Loma Landscaping, upfront stating that we were not going to hold them financially responsible for the inadequate drainage system, but wanted to inform Tony of the issue and invite him to come see what had been done to rectify the issue so that he could learn from the error. After 3 weeks we still have not been contacted back by him. For these reasons I would recommend Pt Loma Landscaping to only provide routine yard maintenance services and not anything further since rectifying errors and learning from errors does not appear to be in the company’s current culture.

I hired Tony to remove the grass, put in pavers, put some plants in the yard, and install a watering system to those plants. Overall I wanted a drought tolerant, and low maintenance landscape.
He significantly overcharged me, did not complete the work that was in the contract, and went way over timeline. Would highly recommend going with a different company.

Worst service I have ever had with a gardener in 20 years living in OB with two different properties plus he killed my ice plants – don’t be fooled by his «I volunteer a lot sales pitch. this guy is a crook. At my personal residence, after the first visit, the job was poorly done – extremely bad since I nave a lowscape yard. Bushes were not trimed, he hacked and killed the ice plant and weeds were not pulled. I called him and he told me he would make it right. Three weeks later I receive a text asking if I can meet him at the property almost immediately –I replied I was at work but he should feel free to go to the property. No response. So I sent him the photos of the job. A week later he sends me an email saying he quits but he will replant the iceplant he killed if I will buy it. Feel free to ask me for photos and the texts – I will gladly send them. He however had no problem billing me – the only thing he did on time and well.

It grieves me to have to write a bad review for *anyone* but … good luck getting a hold of these guys.
You call … they waste your time getting information, etc. … and they never call back. Never respond.
You call again, and again go through the tedious process of giving your information. and they don’t respond.
What’s worse is that I was an existing client. Even after paying more for their services than other companies quoted me, I still was going to give the «local guys» my business. I’m sorry that they don’t think it’s worth their time to respond.

Tony and his crew are excellent. Did work that was asked of him in the time that was estimated. Kind, beat competitor prices upon estimation then executed, will use again.

For our former house, Tony did a good job fixing our sprinkler system whenever something broke. When we bought a new house, he did a free inspection and quote to bring that system to an acceptable performance level. We will definitely utilize Tony in the future.

Originally in 2012, I gave a positive review of this company, and Tony George was caring and responsive in installing a whole new series of plants in back, sides, and front of our home.
I don’t know what happened to my Unilocal review, since I wanted to modify it.
What happened with this business, was, after the installation, I asked him for a proposal to maintain the landscaping. It was accepted, and I called him to get started. He did not return my calls. Then he emailed me saying he wanted to do it. I said yes please come. But he did not come, nor did he ever call me back. I wonder what is going on and why I haven’t received the courtesy of a response, either way?
