My girlfriend was craving poke so we searched on Unilocal and saw that this place had some really good reviews so we went to go try it. As we got here, we found that there was no parking to be found. There is only street parking available and they were all filled up. Most likely due to the popular brunch spot next to it, Hash House A Go-Go. We had to circle around for 10minutes until someone left. My girlfriend got a poke bowl of Ahi Tuna and Salmon with Shoyu Hawaiian sauce served with white rice and some macaroni salad. I ordered the Spicy pork with white rice that also came with macaroni salad and a small side salad. POKEBOWL; The poke was fresh and tasty. They give you a very good amount and the chunks were quite big which was nice. The Shoyu Hawaiian sauce that they mixed it with wasn’t anything special though. It could’ve been more flavorful which would’ve enhanced the dish a lot more. I liked that there were pickled red onions and fresh green onions topped on the poke which gave it that nice refreshingness(is that even a word?) SPICYPORK; The spicy pork bowl was pretty tasty. I thought the marinade could be a bit stronger and more flavorful. The spiciness wasn’t really present. The meat was tender though so that was good. They also give you a lot of meat as well. The dressing for the side salad could’ve been a bit more acidic to cut through fattiness that pork tends to have. The macaroni salad was good. Hard to mess that up. I liked that they sprinkled sesame seeds on the white rice which added that nutty flavor to it which was yummy. TLDR; I would come here again if I was craving poke. They give you a very nice serving size for it and it is delicious. The spicy pork was good but I’ve had better at other places.

GREAT! The chefs here combine traditional South Korean flavors with Hawaiian flavors. Bibimbap + Poke = absolute deliciousness. You can get the standard Poke here too, but you must try the fusion dishes if you like Korean food. SOGOOD. Walk-up ordering, eat-in or take-out. Casual.

Because i have a list of my favorite poke places in SD and Orange county, I saw that this place had many 5 star ratings on Unilocal so i had to check it out. After trying it, I’m not too fascinated with their poke. I’ve tried better elsewhere. But I ordered the poke platter($ 9.45+ tax) which came with your choice of seafood, your choice of seasoning, rice or salad, and a side of either their macaroni salad or a scoop of imitation crab meat. I got a combo of salmon, tuna, and shrimp in their teriyaki seasoning, white rice, and their imitation crab meat. There wasn’t anything special about it taste wise. I thought it was pretty basic. They didn’t have additional toppings that you could choose from like other places would and their shrimps were super tiny! Not even regular sized. However, the quality of their fish was good. Also note, that there isn’t a lot of parking. Just street parking. We were lucky to find a 2 hour parking spot in front of the place. So i recommend brining coins for the parking meters! Overall, I’m not sure if i’ll be back for their poke, but I do recommend going to other places such as zarlitos for your poke fix instead!

Was near Homestyle and really craving their poke. Unfortunately they’re closed on Sundays. Luckily I remembered that I’ve been wanting to try Poke Go in Hillcrest. Poke Go is located right next to Hash House. This was my first time at Poke Go. I got the poke platter ahi tuna seasoned with shoyu Hawaiian with half brown rice half salad and the imitation crab salad. Although the imitation crab salad and the seaweed salad that came with the plate was good, there wasn’t much of it. I was fine with this, because I was here for poke and the poke did not disappoint. Will definitely be back for the spicy mayo poke next time!

I’ve had plenty of Poke Bowls in southern California, namely in Orange County, so I was looking forward to trying the only Poke bowl restaurant in San Diego. This location is located right on 5th Ave, which is next door to Hash House a Go Go so parking is definitely tough to find since everyone parks in the metered parking. The restaurant itself is quite quaint, clean, and well designed. Their menu is quite minimal since they don’t need a big convoluted menu for a poke bowl. I was, however, surprised that there was not a variety of toppings you can choose to put in the bowl. In other poke places, there is usually a long list of ingredients you can add beyond what this place has. At this place, you can only choose your seafood, dressing, and crab or macaroni salad. Therefore, you can say that I was disappointed in their lack of topping selections. Of course, it isn’t fair to compare this place to other places, except the fact that the pricing per bowl here is quite overpriced. The cost for the Poke Platter was $ 9.45 with an additional $ 1 for avocado. The total came to be $ 11.29 with tax, but the portion size of the poke platter was small. It was in a small rectangular box of which half of the space is taken up by the large scoop of brown rice. That left space for only a small scoop of salmon coupled with seaweed salad and crab salad. I opted for the spicy mayo dressing over the salmon, which was very flavorful. Since the box is small, it made it difficult to get a scoop of salmon and rice in the same bite. I finished the box in 10 mins and was still very hungry. I would say this was more of a light appetizer than a full lunch. Bring your quarters for parking because you’re going to need it!

I have always wanted to try poke, but even when I came here, I didn’t get it! I’m a little scared to eat a bunch of raw fish all at once. So I decided to get the bimbibop, which wasn’t too bad! My friend had ordered the poke and it looked really good. I took a bite and it wasn’t as bad as I thought! Definitely have to man up and try it all for myself. Workers are very nice and they were very welcoming This place is small and cute. It’s definitely very new to me on what they serve because i normally don’t get it. We thought we could get cups of water but they have us water bottles instead!

Terrible manager who is extremely rude! I tried their poke and it’s not even fresh! please go somewhere else. Costco has way better poke. $ 9.00 for a small ass container of ahi poke?! This place is owned by a bunch of really rude people who have no idea what is going on. I placed an order to be delivered and they gave me an estimated time of 30 minutes and it didn’t come till 1.5 hours later!

Think Korean-fusion poke. This place is pretty bomb, it’s nice and small and has a short menu. They have a ramen option as well. I ordered the Poke Platter with half-and-half salmon and ahi tuna, with spicy mayo dressing. I also tried the other sauce, but the spicy mayo is the best!(If you love spicy like me) The platter comes with rice and Mac salad and a small seaweed salad. Each plate is a little under $ 10. The Poke BibiGo is basically the Korean bibimbap plate with poke in it. You’d have to mix everything before you eat it, I’d also recommend getting this as spicy mayo since the sauce it comes with doesn’t make it as flavorful as the mayo does. Poke Go is kind of new and next to the Hash House in hillcrest. Will definitely be back :)

I have been wanting to try Poke for a while now and I am so glad this was the place I selected to try first! I ordered the Salmon and Taco combo platter with avocado and teriyaki sauce. The fish was very fresh, I love the bits of seaweed salad and sesame on top. I did wish for a bit less raw onions, but that would be the ONLY thing I’d change. The crab salad that came with the combo platter was also delicious! I think it was mostly just imitation crab with barely any dressing. Very simple, yet delicious. The person behind the counter was SONICE! He made some great recommendations. The only thing that I would note here is that it did take a little longer than you’d think for food to come out. Since nothing is being cooked, we just assumed we’d get it quick. There was a group of 7 of us and by the time the last person got their food, some of us were already done eating. We got there right when it opened so we were the first ones there. I’m not sure how much longer you’d have to wait during a rush.

Ookah lakah hickey, you know you wanna lei me, pass the poi Mahalo. I happened to be walking by this place the first day they opened, I’m thinking to myself… NOWAY!!! This is fabulous, I walked in and checked out the place. Nice and clean and new what you want in a poke joint. The Poké Bibigo — Korean dish«Hoedupbap» is my weakness, I always get the same damn thing over salad. Oh and a side of macaroni salad. Protip: You can order it delivered on the Unilocal app, I haven’t tried it yet though.

Absolutely delicious… The fish taste really fresh, and the service was awesome. I was looking for somewhere to have a quick, casual lunch, and this place fit the bill perfectly. The combo poke platter(tuna, salmon, a scoop of brown rice, and a small side of macaroni salad) was just $ 9. A bottle of tea for $ 2.50 with a little pricey, but it’s all good. I left happy because I ate healthy, and I like the sunny shop and the chill vibe. Highly recommended.

This place is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. We got their poke platter($ 8.99) with extra fish for $ 3 more. We ended up getting ahi tuna and salmon in their shoyu Hawaiian seasoning with salad and raspberry vinaigrette with the kanikama salad. The shoyu Hawaiian seasoning is super salty. The employee told us that it was the most popular one and had a bit of saltness to it but she didn’t tell us that it was extremely salt. I didn’t like the fact that the salt was over powering the fish. So I only ate the salad which was ok. I wish they gave you more dressing tho. And the kanikama was ok. Nothing special, just crab meat. Also theres not parking lot, only street parking.

The poke is good-great deal for the price! They have several different options and combos too. I’m guessing that’s why the reviews are so high. My friend thought the poke was really fresh. Maybe I’m picky but I’ve had fresher. The space is small but never had issues with seating. The service was a little lacking which puts a damper on the whole experience. For this reason, it’ll be more of a takeout place for me if I’m really craving poke, or want to impress with a Poke dish for a potluck. But even though I live around the corner, I don’t plan to be a regular here. Update: I had food concerns with my meal and checked in with the the manager/owners by email. They emailed me back, reassured me, and refunded me. Def NOT looking for a free meal, and feel guilty about refunds, but the point is, they emailed me back and apologized. Good customer service. Still doubt I’ll go back.

Poke Go is keeping the menu simple, serving fresh food and I’m diggin it! I feel like it’s hard to find some good Poke in San Diego. Let’s face it! LA and Orange County just have way more food options so Poke Go was a great addition to the uptown area. I have to say that I’m a fan of the salmon with Hawaiian shoyu, avocado and brown rice. The salmon is flavorful, cool and cut up into nice bite size pieces. A healthy and refreshing meal option. I recently had the salmon, ahi bibigo which did not disappoint. Veggies and poke were fresh and tasty. A clean restaurant, friendly service and good food has made Poke Go a local favorite.

I think this place just recently opened but I was curious to try it out! After having Ono poke in Hawaii, wasn’t sure anything could compare so I had pretty low expectations coming in. Poke: so their menu is that they have a poke box where you pick your protein, your sauce, and what sides you want. The alternative is that you purchase the fish by itself. My girlfriend got the poke platter and got half half salmon and ahi with the shoyu Hawaiian sauce for $ 8.99. I ended up getting just the fish(salmon and ahi shoyu Hawaiian with an extra $ 1 for avocado) for $ 7.49+$ 1. Honestly the poke platter has just about the same amount of fish as the medium poke by container. Quality: the fish is ok, honestly wasn’t anything spectacular. I will say that it’s better than poke you get from Costco or whole foods(whatever that means, take it as you will). Ambiance: they pack their food in to go containers and you can either eat at the restaurant or take it home. Just a word of advice, there aren’t that many chairs/tables so if it gets busy, you’re pretty much out of luck to sit down! Parking: street parking which you may have to pay for on weekdays. Overall: it’s ok, but I doubt I’ll be coming back as it won’t be something I’ll be craving.

Small establishment. Tables inside and outside. Parking on the street. Doesn’t get too busy. Service was pretty quick. They put all your food in plastic containers, so if you don’t finish it, you can take it home which is nice. Purchased the poke platter which comes with your choice of ahi, salmon, shrimp or tako. You can choose one or two fish options. $ 8.99 You can choose your base: white rice, brown rice, or salad(extra $ 0.50) You can choose your seasonings: shoyu hawaiian, spicy mayo, kimchi, wasabi or teriyaki You can choose choice of side: tartar macaroni or kanikama salad(imitation crab) I went with ahi, salmon, salad, spicy mayo, and tartar macaroni. There was a generous portion of fish and salad. The veggies were fresh and the fish was nicely flavored. The tartar macaroni was the worst macaroni salad i’ve ever had. It was hard like it was stale macaroni and flavorless. Poorly made. I would recommend going with the kanikama(imitation crab) salad instead. And only other complaint is that the poke platters don’t come with avocado. It is an extra charge which I was not told about which was a disappointment. But overall, i still like the place because there’s not many places in San Diego that serves just poke.

Sunday afternoon and the Chargers and Steelers just lost at the game of football. We decide to watch a show other than football of one of other hobbies FOOD. Turn on some Anthony Bourdain and he is in Hawaii… so ba da bing ba da boom I’m reminded that I’ve had Poke GO bookmarked for wayyy to long and we Poke– GO! GO to Poke! :) I’m so happy that I finally made my way out to Hillcrest specifically to check them out. I like the fact that Poke Go is a super casual place– you walk up to the counter order your food and a few minutes later your food is ready! Yippee– Fast, efficient and casual service oh yes and delicious poke– my type of place! Bf and I both ordered the Ahi Tuna with the Shoyu Hawaiian seasoning, it comes with rice and either macaroni salad or a type of crab salad. I also ordered a small size of seaweed salad, my favorite. The Shoyu seasoning was a little on the saltier side for my taste but once I had a bite of it with the brown rice it was good. The portion of the Ahi Tuna platter is generous– big enough to share possible but definitely be finished by one. A visit to Poke-Go will not disappoint!

I am glad to see that the emerging poke bowl foodie scene is spreading to San Diego. It’s one of my favorite types of foods/meals so I was excited that this place opened up in the heart of Hillcrest next to Hash House A Go Go. Parking is tough. Street meters. So come with some patience. Luckily it’s worth the trip and hassle as this bowl of poke is very good. The fish is cool, fresh, and cubed in perfect bite size portions. I like the spicy mayo sauce which wasn’t overly applied and the combo of seaweed, avocado, red onion and white onion make this super tasty. It’s true, the menu is simple indeed. Pick your rice, pick your sauce, pick your fish. You place your order and sit down — it’s not the cafeteria or Chipotle style line-up. The food comes quickly and in a rectangular eco-friendly paper«bowl» and proportions are just right. Not too big nor too small. But if you are extra hungry — get the«Large» fish portion. The gentleman working the register was Chris the owner, and is very friendly and respectful. He even checked in with me during the meal to ask if I was doing okay and seeing if I was enjoying the meal. I felt appreciated. I’ll be back for sure.

When I heard about a poke place in SD I was all up on it. It was just a matter of time and tricking my BF to come here with me. So after all the waiting, there was a perfect moment for the trickery. He was moving and we had run a bunch of errands and it was lunch time… he didn’t want to be too full because dinner was around the corner, so of course I told him about Poke Go. He was down for it. Location: Hillcrest, near Nunu’s, parking sucks. So he waited in the car on a dead end street with the emergency lights on while I ordered. Menu: Not much of an option, it’s poke, what do you expect?! Salmon or Tuna. Sometimes they will have other things like octopus and some Korean items, but very very simple menu. You pick your protein, rice color, side dish and your dressing. Food: I ordered combo(mixed tuna & salmon for those indecisive people like me), rice color= I think white is the best(if it aint white it aint right is the motto I use for my rice. lol), some weird ass name for imitation crab, and the dressing. I know raw fish usually tastes good with soy sauce, so the shoyu will do, and it’s their most popular, you can also get it spicy-spicy shoyu. My BF got the spicy mayo. Which one was better? Of course mine was! It tasted like something out of Hawaii. The spicy mayo on the other hand was too mayo-ish. Or maybe I’m just not a mayo fan. But can’t go wrong with the shoyu! We got skimmed on the small seaweed salad, other pics look like a handful while ours was a spoonful. The flavors were there, and about $ 10 it’s a good lunch option. Not the best raw tuna as there were probably a couple chewy ones but it’s all gravy, haven’t found another poke place. I tried Homestyle Hawaiian and thought that wasn’t great, it was drench in nasty mayo… This is a very affordable lunch option. You don’t get much for it to be dinner.

I am a sucker for anything salmon and with avocado in it, so it was no surprise when I order the regular size container with salmon poke and avocado slices added with wasabi dressing. For kicks, I also tried a small side of their tartar macaroni salad. The salmon poke was quite delicious, and one thing I learned was that next time, I will order a larger container. The salmon was nicely marinated and although it had a small amount of fat lines, it was rich and flavorful. The wasabi dressing was great and provided a nice little zing to the poke. The small amount of seaweed salad was just right, not only on its tasty flavor, but quantity as well because it allowed the salmon to star of the show. I also enjoyed the intermixing of chopped scallions and green peppers. They added good flavor and texture. The avocado was freshly sliced at the perfect ripeness and is a winner combined with the salmon poke. The tartar macaroni salad was good. The macaroni was properly cooked and the light tartar sauce was nice with overtones of mustard, onions, and pickles. The salad also came with little bits of pickles. The place is small, but does offer comfortable seating. I like that they thoroughly explained the menu. Nice place and I would certainly go back for some poke.
