Last year I had been suffering for a while with heel pain so uncomfortable, that it was painful to walk. Finally I went to see my regular doc as I was going on a big trip, but. to no avail. He poked around in my heel where there was a mark but it only got worse. After I got back from my trip and not wanting to have to use a cane, (and thanks to Unilocal), I found the most wonderful Dr. Vallone in Poway! It’s not that close to me but I was tired of doctors who don’t care or who care but are not skilled or are uncaring AND unskilled! Dr. Vallone’s staff is warm and welcoming from the first phone call. And he knew immediately what was happening with my heel and took care of it on the spot, no more pain then and 4 months later still no pain! I couldn’t believe I had suffered for so long for nothing. I might add that he is a very genial and attractive doctor, who inspires confidence from the first hello. Now if only I could find more physicians like him in other specialties!

I had a bunionectomy done a couple months ago. Dr. Vallone was my second opinion and he made me feel way more comfortable than the first doctor. The first doctor wanted me to pre-​consent to a contingency plan if things looked different after he got in there. That sounded sketchy and, frankly, «salesy» to me. Dr. Vallone said he knew exactly what was going on and was going to do the next best thing to a joint replacement which sounded fantastic to me. It has healed as planned and feels WAY better. Although I haven’t gone yet, he cleared me for snowboarding on time. He was very patient explaining everything and his staff is superb. I highly recommend you take your foot issues to Dr. Vallone.

My daughter just had her final exam, after Dr Vallone performed a bunionectomy on both feet, and she couldn’t be happier! She was able to get both done, 7 weeks apart and now is amazed how much better her feet look and feel. Dr Vallone’s calm and caring nature completely removed my daughter’s apprehension, since this was her first surgery. By the second procedure, they were like old friends. I received calls from his personal cell phone, asking how she was doing, and even responded to texts from her concerned Dad. Dr Vallone and his staff (Kay and Debbie) are a rare find in the medical industry and have restored my faith in knowing that there are still great doctors out there who really care for their patients.

I went to see four different DPMs when I was suffering from an acute pain in my left foot pad. Dr. Vallone IMMEDIATELY knew what my problem was. He was able to book me for surgery in a timely manner. He explained everything to me and was always happy to answer any question I had. Admittedly, I was nervous about the foot surgery, but now that my foot is healed and I’m back on it, I’m thrilled!!! I no longer have the pain and I’m back doing all the things that I love to do! Truly, Dr. Vallone is a gem and you will not be disappointed.

Dr. Valone has been my Podiatrist for about 10 years. He (and his office) are exceptional in the medical profession! And Dr. Valone himself, has such vast knowledge about every ailment one could have (today I mentioned a very rare neurological disease i just was diagnosed with, and immediately he knew multiple important issues regarding it … absolutely amazing as others seem to not know it, or very very little!).
He is the BEST!!! I will regret saying this as it will make his schedule busy next time i need an appointment, however i must say … if you need an exceptional, knowledgeable, experienced and very pleasant Podiatrist/​Surgeon … THIS IS YOUR GUY!!!

Dr Vallone & his staff are remarkable !!! My husband was referred to Dr Vallone by his primary doctor and immediately raved about his new foot doctor and who raves about their foot doctor, right? Well, my husband did and faithfully sees him every 3 months due to his diabetes. Never have my husbands feet been in such good hands so to speak. His feet have never looked better.
So, after his 3^rd or 4^th visit, I decided to make an appt. with Dr Vallone too since I had multiple foot issues & I am alittle afraid of doctors due to a bad experience and CRPS-​a nerve pain condition. Well, Dr. Vallone & his nurse Debbie get an A++ in my book. They were so warm & friendly, so knowledgable about feet and even my semi rare condition. I was so impressed & I was totally comfortable when Dr Vallone recommended a bunionectomy on my CRPS affected foot. All I can say is that Dr Vallone knows his stuff and I trusted him & he didn’t let me down. Both he & his staff are always available, bend over backwards for the patient and super knowledgable & efficient. Anyone looking for the service he provides should not hesitate in making an appt. with Dr Vallone!!! He is absolutely THE BEST !!

Dr Vallone and his Staff are amazing! I went in for Bunion surgery and Dr Vallone was very thorough, covered everything exactly from start to finish. My foot looks amazing and I had no pain. The office is nice and clean, and for the area there is plenty of parking right by the office. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Vallone for anyone with foot problems.

Dr. Vellone, and all of his team are amazing!!! I am actually excited for my check up this coming Friday. He is so knowledgeable, personable, and gentle! The staff is friendly, they work with you, return calls, and just made me feel like family, need I say more!

I am relatively new to the San Diego area and have been struggling with a bad foot for several years — combination of bunions and stress fractures. I am a nurse and it had gotten so bad that I couldn’t even wear my clogs anymore, much less run, hike or do anything on foot. I finally started looking for a podiatrist to discuss treatment options. I found Dr. Vallone on Unilocal and it’s true, I looked no more!!!
I loved the small office, Kay is very sweet and made me feel comfortable about my appointment. Dr. Vallone told me that surgery was my best option and walked me through the whole process, including pictures to show exactly what was wrong and what would be fixed.
My pre-​op was smooth with labs, x-​rays and fitting for my boot. I felt very relaxed and comfortable with Dr. Vallone’s honest approach, easy going manner, and confidence that he fix me. He told me that he would have me back to running by the fall.
Surgery day arrived and Scripps Mercy was the greatest experience. Everyone was so nice and reassuring. My anesthesiologist rocked her pearls and I could see that Dr. Vallone’s team liked working with him and they seemed to have fun with their jobs. Surgery was smooth, recovery was easy and then I was home. I am tough when it comes to staying down and had some pain the first day. Called Dr. Vallone and he answered right away, gave me some simple advice and I was good to go.
While six weeks seems to go slowly and I definitely have to listen to Dr. Vallone’s wise counsel or I push too hard BUT I can see my new foot slowly emerging and I am so thrilled. Definitely see Dr. Vallone if you have any foot or ankle problems.
Finally, he spent time talking with my teenage daughter during one of my post op appointments which she appreciated. She is thinking about medical school and enjoyed hearing him talk to her about being a surgeon.

Honestly Im such a baby when it comes to needles and doctors period. This guy was so nice and thorough. I felt calm and cool going in for a simple in grown toe nail removal. On top of an already great experience they put quarters into my meter so that I wouldn’t get a ticket because my foot was taking longer to numb. What a great experience.

If your looking for a good Podiatrist and surgeon look no further. Trust me before my surgery I researched, went to multiple consultations, and read just about every review on every podiatrist in San Diego. Everyone on Dr. Vallone’s staff at the Banker’s Hill office were great and Kay (who does the scheduling at the front desk) greets you by name when you come in and asks about your recent vacation or how your dog is doing. You can’t get more personable than that. Your not just another patient your basically one of the family; nurse Debbie even noticed I got some new shoes at one of my appointments.
I finally decided on Dr. Valllone because out of everyone he took the time to really explain to me the whole process of what goes into a bunionectomy and he gave me a realistic expectation for my recovery. He also talked about post operation care for my feet, which no other Dr. did. I have an appointment next month to come back and get fitted for orthotics so my naturally flat feet will have support and prevent this problem from happening again. He is not in it to just cut you open fix your feet and have you go on your way. He is genuinely concerned about your feet and want’s them to not just be repaired but healthy too. That’s why I went with Dr. Vallone.
I have heard nothing but horror stories about this type of surgery. Don’t believe me go on every forum and you will see people battling infections, tremendous pain, and general long lasting discomfort. So it’s not odd that people are apprehensive, like I was, to get the surgery done. This is why I am 32 and just now getting it done.
I went to him wanting to do both feet at the same time, since I did not want to be out of work for multiple months. He suggested I do one at a time and I am glad I did it that way. I healed way faster and getting around was so much easier when I was rehabilitating my other foot. I did have to take 2.5 months off of work, since I have a very physical job. I think you could have gone back earlier if you work in an office setting. Taking that much time off work does pose some challenges and must be factored in to your decision making process. This is not something you could rush, because if you push it your feet will shut you down.
Both my feet had moderate bunions, with the right foot being semi worse, so he decided to do the right one first. I had my first surgery on Dec 3 and the second surgery on Jan 3. Having the month off in between feet really helped me heal and get my foot ready to be weight bearing for the next surgery. Both of my surgeries went great. I had no problems with infection, rarely needed any pain meds and was walking around with very minimal pain, in my moon boot, just days after each surgery. I believe this is because of the skill and the care Dr. Vallone uses when he does these procedures. I think he told me he does around 3 of these a week and I think he has got the process down.
I followed Dr. Vallone’s instructions meticulously, since I definitely did not want to go through this again or have to have another procedure done. Being a naturally active person it was a bit hard to give up hiking, biking, surfing, boats, running and basically everything (I consider) fun for a few months but it is important you do. Nurse Debbie actually said she was amazed at how well my incisions were healing and how little swelling I had, and was happy that I was following the Dr.‘s directions. In talking with her I guess most of the guys tend to not follow the post op directions, pushing the envelope with their feet, and cause themselves more pain and healing time. Dr. Vallone did all the hard work I just followed directions and didn’t push myself. DO follow his instructions to the T. I found that he seemed to play it conservative as far as what you could and could not do but it in the end I am better off.
It’s now mid March and my feet feel awesome. Everyone is amazed that my feet do not have any pain. I’m back on hiking, biking, light running and in a couple of weeks surfing. Post Op X-​Rays showed everything is in place and I can not be happier with the results. I am pain free and my feet look way better than they did before the surgery. Before my surgery doing my daily activities caused my feet pain and swelling, now I am pain free. It really is amazing, and I am so thankful. My only regret is not getting them done sooner.

Very friendly staff and Doctor! I could sit and chat with Dr. Vallone for hours! He is also great with children. He has an amazingly delicate hand. The office has nice relaxing music while you wait. Whole office is meticulous.

Very nice staff, including doctor. Dr. Vallone took his time explaining how jacked I was lol jk! No he was great, and I called around to many offices for a consultation and he was half the price, and you would have not even noticed. I am coming back and would recommend him to anyone that’s looking for a podiatrist.

Hands down one of the best doctors I have ever seen. Everyone in the office is friendly and I have never felt like a chart when I go there. He is friendly and knowledgeable. I had surgery last week and since it was on a Friday they gave me his cell phone numer in case I had a problem over the weekend! He’s the best!

Dr. Vallone and his ENTIRE staff are absolutely wonderful. Dr. Vallone is very thorough and ALWAYS takes the time to answer all of my questions. I rarely have to wait to be seen and his offices are always clean and well kept (I see him at both his Poway and Hill Crest office). I absolutely recommend him without hesitation.

Dr. Vallone corrected a foot problem I have had for many years, in just a few visits. He is an excellent podiatrist. Gave me many options and a lot of helpful advice.
