I went in for a consultation with Dr. David in 2012 and my experience was pleasant; however, I was let down by his team in the end.
I had a set budget in mind and I was upfront with their patient care coordinator, Laura, about it. She provided information on financing options, but mentioned that my quoted total would increase if I used a credit card or took out a loan to pay for the service in mind. I thought it was unusual for Dr. David’s office to tack on additional fees for different payment methods, but our consultation went well so I wanted to give him my business.
I asked if it was possible to drop the price down a little, especially since I was a student and a referral. Laura was aware that my budget was lower, and she said Dr. David was willing to cut $ 750. Although I was grateful for their patience with me, their final quote was still over my budget. I thanked her for her time and sadly moved on with my day.
That same week Laura called me and exclaimed «Good news: Dr. David never does this, ever, but he is willing to cut more off your quote, but the offer is only good if you make a deposit now and book for next week. Can you come in?» Due to my impacted work schedule I wasn’t able to get time off on such short notice, so I asked if I could come in at a later date. The answer was no.
I didn’t call back because I traveled abroad for a few months, but I kept Dr. David’s office in mind and didn’t want to go anywhere else. I contacted her again in 2013 when my savings balance grew some more. Although it was over a year later, I reached out in hopes that we could officially set a date.
I called Dr. David’s office twice and left Laura messages. No response. I emailed her days later and still hadn’t heard from her. I had to log onto Dr. David’s website and submit a request for contact all over again. Behold! Laura calls me back that same day.
After speaking with her throughout the week, I eventually became fed up with the stipulations they tagged onto their quote. Laura threw in the same sales pitch, «You know, Dr. David never does this, but if you come in the next few days he will reduce the price because two of his patients cancelled. Book it now before it’s too late!» I didn’t want to play games– why not honor a deal for a date that is convenient for both of us so I can give my employer enough time to schedule time off?
Dr. David has superb credentials and is a well-​respected professional, but I found another doctor, one with an outstanding team who showed excellent bedside manner, open to all payment methods (with no additional fees), worked with my schedule, and didn’t try to wow me with a rehearsed sales pitch every single time.

Being an otoplasty patient of Dr. David in 2012, I am still extremely satisfied with his work and staff. From my first visit, the staff was extremely polite and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable.
On the day of my procedure, Dr. David was extremely informative with me about what was going to be done. Recovery was a little rough and painful but I was prepared because of Dr. David’s honest nature. He did not sugar coat my procedure or recovery, as I wouldn’t want any doctor to do.
I would highly recommend anyone wanting cosmetic surgery to Dr. David. I would normally say that cosmetic surgery isn’t a 100% guaranteed results type of thing, but sometimes it is. If you want an honest, intelligent and assertive surgeon, look no more!

Dr. David Roy has changed my life and I am soooo grateful to him, his staff, his expertise and God given talent. I had ryhnoplasty by him in 2010. I had severely broke my nose twice 10 years prior and had tremendous amount of damage inside and out. I had a deviated septum, built up cartridge in the wrong area, too my scar tissue and I could not breath. My husband begged me to have the surgery or sleep in another room because I whistled while I slept. Not like a snore or a loud breathing thing, I full on howled like a wolf out of my nose. I also hated the bump I had on the outside that both breaks had left. Dr. David was amazing. He went through each step with me on what to expect, and what he thought would be best. I brought him old pictures of my nose before the breaks and my mom, as she has the same nose as I did prior to my injury. Today four years later, I can’t imagine what I would have done if I never got it fixed. Not only do I love my profile and get compliments on my nose, I can breath without any problems. And the best part is I can sleep in the same room as my husband again.

I had a full rhinoplasty 6 years ago with Dr David. I had suffered from years of struggling to breath with deviated septum. Dr David was able to reshape my nose to fit my face and fix my breathing issues from the inside out. I instantly felt comfortable with Dr David and staff because of their knowledge and expertise in facial plastic surgery. When having someone work on your face, I felt it important that it be their specialty. Dr David instantly put me at ease and walked me through the whole process.
Another impressive bonus is Dr David has contributed to our war veterans with his incredible skills working with our country’s wounded vets.

I went to Dr David for the La Jolla lift. From start to finish, the experience with Dr. David & the staff was fantastic. I felt comfortable the minute I walked in the office. I thought I’d be nervous on the day of surgery, but was totally relaxed thanks to their wonderful care. The results & recovery time were better than I expected. It’s been almost 2 years since my surgery and I couldn’t be happier.

I had a ryno done several years ago in Beverly Hills by a very reputable doctor. The procedure came out good, but my septum was never fixed which had made breathing through my nose difficult. My nose had also become very boxy at the tip and I wanted a softer look. After I made the decision to have a revision and my septum fixed I consulted with several doctors that were referred by friends of mine that are in the same business. I choose Dr. David based on his reputation, skills, qualifications, and sheer professionalism by him and his staff.
1. Dr. David was professional took his time examining me. Several of the doctors I consulted with took one look at my nose barley touched my nose before they started talking. They acted like they were doing ME a favor my being their patient. Dr. David spent over an hour with me talking, imaging and studying my face.
2. Dr. David was professional. All the other doctors I consulted with in San Diego verbally put down my first doctor, which I found to be very unprofessional. Real professionals don’t put down others in their field.
3. His staff had the best customer service; they were prompt, professional and treated me like a family member. Other offices took a week or more to get back to me, had no idea who I was, and in general were terrible when it came to customer service.
4. All of the staff is amazing, however the anesthesiologist was personable and I felt like he took his time with me. Everything was explained in great detail. Reyna Real the Medical Assistant that took care of me was superb at answering my questions, being detailed, available, and very knowable.
5. I am a Licensed Aesthetician /​Makeup Artist, symmetry is a big part of my job. I see good and bad plastic surgery every day. The body is not symmetrical. Dr. David gave me the most symmetrical nose I have seen in a long time. This is very difficult especially on a ryno revision.
I could have gone to any doctor in Southern California. I am so pleased with Dr. David’s work I just had to share it with anyone looking for a ryno or a revision. As soon as I have my before and after photos I will post them here to share.

Couldn’t ask for a better qualified or competent, caring doctor! I had met with a doctor in San Francisco who did face lifts, but he also did breasts and other augmentations. As a retirement gift to myself I wanted a surgeon that was a facial specialist only. I found a hidden treasure in Dr. David and his staff. It’s been over a year since I had my La Jolla Face Lift and Rhinoplasty — I was/​am delighted with the results. My biggest fear was that I would look like I had a face lift (i.e., Bruce Jenner, Dolly Parton or Kenny Rodgers), but even relatives couldn’t tell I had something done. i had the La Jolla LIft and Total FX Laser. I am definitely an extremely satisfied patient! First of all, the staff are so warm and friendly. Angela, Paris, Glenys, Reyna, all took the time to explain the procedures, what I can expect, recovery, etc. Any and every time I called with questions, they always answered them. I can honestly say I was never nervous! Dr. David even went to my hotel room to see me later that day! What doctor does that? The nurses were also sooo very attentive to me. I even got a hug from one of them when she saw me at a follow up apt. Each time I have come in for follow ups, my husband and I are always made to feel like we are old friends. i will recommend Dr. David to all my friends, co-​workers and anyone who mentions to me that they are contemplating a more youthful look. I had a Rhinoplasty procedure about two months ago and I’m very happy with the results. The surgery went well, I was out completely and woke up later with no pain. The doctor and staff prepared me for the recovery with specific instructions for each week after the surgery which helped me.
The follow up appointments have been going well, mostly because I have no problems except for the initial swelling as expected. They gave me an injection to reduce the swelling with no extra charge.
Roy isn’t just a surgeon, he’s an artist.

My experience began with Dr. David’s consultant Laura who explained everything in detail and prepared me for what I can expect. She was great from the time I first went into their office and to the day of surgery. She made me feel very much at ease about moving forward with my procedure.

What are these people talking about? STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR! I wanted my nose done for most of my life and it was a huge insecurity of mine. When I finally booked with Dr. Roy David, I trusted that he would make my nose similar to what he had projected. It looks NOTHING like what he projected, in fact, it looks worse. Here I am, three years later, looking for a top doctor to correct his mistakes and finding out it will cost me anywhere between $ 25,000-$ 35,0000 to fix. I even brought Dr. Roy’s projected image to my new surgeon and even he said «wow that would have been a nice result.» Obviously, that’s not what I have and my new doctor could clearly see the mistakes. My nostrils are so large and uneven now (they weren’t like that before surgery) and the tip of my nose just looks like a bulb. I was looking at before photos of myself and found that my original nose was shaped well at the tip and was symmetrical… so, let me ask you, how does a «doctor» somehow make someone’s nose appear even larger? He smoothed out some of the hump I previously had on my nose, but even fell short with that. He just didn’t complete the job and the result is terrible. I have to photo shop almost all my pictures now to make my nose look «normal» (which I NEVER had to do before). If I could do it all over again, I would pick a more experienced doctor. Biggest mistake ever… still just as insecure about my nose, if not more.

Angela, I am aware of Dr. Roy David’s qualifications and you’re correct in saying that part of the reason I picked him was based on the before and after pictures on his website (obviously, plastic surgeons are going to choose the best photos). I understand what the point is of computer imaging however I don’t think that he should have shown me something COMPLETELY different than what I actually got. I have been to several doctors that don’t seem to understand why my nose is «not in harmony» and why the result wasn’t at least a little closer. I was not told that I have thick skin, in fact the opposite. Please don’t tell me what I did and did not feel at my last visit. Everyone that worked in the office kept telling me «it looks great» when I continued to express concern and the response that I got was, «it needs more time to heal.» I was feeling pressure to just go with it and give it time. It’s been years now and I have to Photoshop every photo I am in to fade out the reality that my nostrils are now large and I no longer have symmetry. This is something I never had to do before my nose job. And finally Angela, this isn’t something that just I notice, or other doctors. This is something my friends and family see too and I don’t think my own friends and family would lie to me.

My nose and my lips (permalip) are adorable !!! I wonder why I waited so long? Dr. David was caring and professional. The entire staff was supportive during my recovery. I will always go to Dr David for my professional beauty needs.

I’m a 54 year old man and scheduled a consult with Dr. Roy David for my eyelids because I was concerned about a growth that had grown on my upper right lid. After meeting with him, he assured me that he could take care of it and suggested while I was having that done I might as well do the other eyelid and include my lower eyelids as well since I’ve had large bags under my eyes for quite sometime. I also decided to have a bump removed from my forehead at the same time that developed over the years from a fall I had as a child. I met with two other plastic surgeons before booking with Dr. David. Although they were a little less $$ for the same procedure, I really felt right with Dr. David and decided to go with him. Sooo… glad I did. He is a perfectionist, his staff is so knowledgable and willing to help. As of today, 9÷17÷2013, it’s been 5 weeks since the procedure and I can’t believe the difference. I wish I could post the before and after pics to help others decide to choose Dr. David for their needs to look better for themselves. Could not be happier with the outcome. P. S. the other options Dr. David offers in his office are amazing as well, a lot of them don’t even require surgery at all and very little down time if any! I find it reassuring that Dr. David focuses on the face only! which in my book makes him an expert in his field.

Dr. David and his staff are amazing. Dr. David has a very calming and peaceful energy and he makes sure to truly listen to you and your concerns. He has a skillful eye and is all about creating the perfect, natural look.
His staff made me feel at home and are always helpful when I go in. All in all, this is a place i would recommend to anyone.

I recently booked an appointment with Dr. David. Although I’m only 25, I have noticed the first signs of wrinkles and fine lines creeping up on me. Too many long days at the beach and splashing around in the ocean, no doubt. I’d been using a Clarisonic brush and expensive creams but the nagging signs of aging persisted!
I wasn’t sure if I needed Botox, but my friend recommended Dr. David after being delighted with her results. I did my research and found that Botox is not just for existing wrinkles but can actually prevent them. If you start Botox on the young side, you never have to have wrinkles. Oooh. So, I booked my appointment with Dr. David.
I was a little nervous before my appointment, but when I arrived was treated to a cappuccino and minimal paperwork. Then I was taken to one of the comfortable treatment rooms. Dr. David came in and I was immediately put at ease by his relaxed, unrushed attitude. My concerns that he would be too busy or clinical disappeared. He had me frown and smile to see what I needed. He described the look I would achieve as «natural, relaxed, and refreshed.» Yeah, I wouldn’t mind that.
He explained the risks of Botox and asked if I had any questions. A couple of slight pinches while he asked about my work, my life, and just when I thought we were about to get started, we were done!
I had very minor swelling, eased instantly by some ice. Dr. David said the effects would be seen in 1 – 7 days. Instead of keeping the procedure secret, as I had planned, I ran to my boyfriend to show off my face. «LOOK?! See these wrinkles? Soon… they will be GONE! Stay tuned!» Then I ran off to my sister, mom, anyone who would listen. I was excited. The next day, I noticed the wrinkles weren’t as noticeable. Two days. Three days. Now I’m feeling good. I show my boyfriend.
«WHOA. Your wrinkles are gone!» (He’s on thin ice… the right answer was «What wrinkles?») «That’s amazing! Can you move your face?»
Good question. I was worried the upper half of my face would be frozen — youthful, but unable to express emotion. I moved my eyebrows. I smiled, I frowned. I could do it all, but without the unflattering forehead and frown line wrinkles. I showed my brother-​in-​law. «It’s so… smooth!»
I love it. I know. I’ve been wearing my hair back just to show off my relaxed, natural, smooth look! Thank you Dr. David; you know I’ll be back for my next «ounce of prevention»!

Dr. David did my «La Jolla Lift». I can honestly say he is the best surgeon you can find. He really pays attention to detail. I visited my hairdresser two weeks after my surgery. He could not see my scars and I only had one tiny bruised area.
I didn’t want to look different, I wanted to look natural, more like I did 10 – 15 years ago. It’s now been four weeks after my surgery and I look amazing. My neck looks like a 30 year old. I am so glad I had Dr. David do my surgery. If you want to look your best I highly recommend him to do your surgery.
His staff is warm and friendly. You feel welcomed every time I visit his office.

Horrible horrible horrible!!!
I got a nose job with him and my nose came out crooked. I think it actually looked better before! Do not trust him! I should have known that something was fishy, since I saw a new staff member every time I went there. Never the same nurse or office staff twice.
