Love the pizza and service here always great! Best pizza than many places around our neighborhood. I think this ace deserve the 5 stars

What the heck is going on here? Food was solid. Service in a nearly empty restaurant was completely non existent. Our server was more interested in speaking with the manager. Not sure what they were gabbing about. Nevermind that it took eons to order. Then more eons to get food. Even longer to get a bill and boxes for left overs. I thought for sure I had her attention when I was literally staring at her, going to every table but ours. I wanted to get up and serve myself. That’s how awfully bad it was. I won’t be back for a while.

Delicious food! Pasta, pizza, and salad were all exquisite! Service was prompt and polite. Atmosphere was calm, clean, and not obnoxious. I will be dining here again soon!

This place is really good. Really, really good. I should know this. I went to an event at one of them before but, ya know, ya forget things sometimes. And besides, I never said it wasn’t good. I just go so many great places that I often forget to go back. Well, not very often but it can happen.
Brother and I went for lunch after checking the eateries in this strip mall. We sat at the bar and quickly were approached for our order. I love pizza. I ordered pizza. I received pizza. I received awesome pizza. I loved my pizza. Let me remember what I ordered… New York something… Oh yeah, New York Style
Mushrooms, all-​natural pepperoni, salami, Italian sausage, house-​made tomato sauce. Wow my memory is better than I thought!!! Ha, Tricked you. I just looked up the menu online and did a cut and paste of what I had that day. My brother ordered something else but was bummed that he didn’t get a pizza after tasting mine. Truth be told… his food was good too but, when you’re in the mood for pizza, nothing else will do.
A quick kudos to the help. They were on us like… like pepperoni on pizza. And, it was lunch time. Busy lunch time. I wish I could remember the servers name. She was very cool, witty and very quick to refill my iced tea. Name that comes to mind is «Alison»?
Shoot! I don’t remember. Was about a month ago. Month and a half maybe. She has shoulder length hair. Okay, management. Just give everyone a raise cause they were all great to us and I will be back.

Nice casual place for a quiet dinner. Located in the Vons shopping center in the northern part of the Scripps ranch community.
We ordered the meat and cheese appetizer to share. There was a slices hard salami prosciutto ham blue cheese Brie goat cheese walnuts figs cranberries and toasted French baguette.
We ordered the garlic chicken pizza spaghetti bolognese and penne pasta with a basil olive oil tomato sauce.
The pizza was really good. Lots of cheese chicken and a roasted garlic sauce. Spaghetti bolognese was creamy and very tasty. The penne pasta was the nice and flavorful.
There was a lot of food and took a lot of it home. Good size portions. The only problem was the service was slow. There was just a small number of tables being served. That’s why j gave it only a 4 star.

Good but not amazing. As good as expected. Our waitress had a weird thing about ice. Every drink we got there was so little ice, that within 5 minutes it was melted and the drinks were watery. The house chop salad is good.

Great food, big portions, reasonable prices and fantastic service! I LOVE their tomato basil soup. I’m not a soup person but I always make an exception for this soup.
I’d like to give a shout out and THANK U to Shannon (our serving hostess) and the restaurant manager (John) for helping me with the surprise baby shower I had for my coworker today.
Shannon, your attention to detail was impressive and I am more than happy with your service at our table. You were patient and even did separate checks for all 12 of us.

Came here for St. Patty’s day dinner and found out that HH prices are good all night! We had the truffle fries, meatballs, chicken lettuce wrap, and New York pizza. Everything was great and service was great too. Arjuna was our server and he was awesome!

So Sammies has changed their menu and changed up their happy hour. But we still love it. The new manager, Robert, has really grown on me. He remembers my name and greets me every time I come in, which is often. Whenever the girls and I want to get together we always convene at Sammys.

I visited Sammy’s during lunch today and I was treated to Excellent service from my waitress Gabrielle and one of the best vege wraps I ever had. It had Quinoa, cucumber and other veges with a honey mustard dressing. The corn chowder was an excellent pairing. I will be back again. Thank you for the great meal and service!

I took my girlfriend and parents here tonight. It was a pretty slow night with lots of open tables, so I was not happy since It took 30 minutes to get our food. There was no explanation or an apology. When the food came out, one of our salads had wilted lettuce and was not fit to eat. We will never be back!!!

2^nd review here and service is still a miss. All the servers have changed over. They brought the bread long after we asked for it. Asked multiple times for water to be filled. We only had one table setting, asked twice for 3 settings, and we got 2.
Asked for oil and vinegar 2 times and finally got it. My daughter got the mahi tacos and were never warned about how spicy it was. Love the ambiance food and convenience. But service is an issue.
Oh guess what? The server just spilled balsamic vinegar on our shirt. And by the way, the manager never offered to make it better

I went there yesterday for a company lunch. The service was pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere was decent but a bit loud when we went. The place was maybe half full but it was difficult to hear the people at my table at times. The food was good but nothing great. However, one major pro was that I ordered one of the power lunches which is a combination of two items. I ordered the arrugola salad with meatballs and pasta. The portions were quite large for the price. Good selection of pizza’s; my co-​workers said theirs were good (they ordered 3 different kinds). I don’t think I’d come back here if I had a choice but I wouldn’t dread coming back if someone wanted to go.

Went off our standard order of fresh green salads and tried something new, the red quinoa salad. What a mistake! For a salad called a quinoa salad, there was so little of the red grain to be found, and when it was found, it turned out that it wasn’t even fresh healthy quinoa. Apparently preserved in vinegar for some reason? This item should be removed from the menu. The manager was understanding and took it back to discard. Thank you.

The food was good but the service was horrible. My family and i have eaten here numerous times and always order the same thing. This last visit we tried explaining to our waitress that the order was wrong but she kept insisting that we were in the wrong. She even went to the length of showing us the differences and proving is wrong. She had absolutely no empathy and was extremely short.

Vegan Approved! They are so incredibly accommodating with your order. They have Daiya cheese options and gluten free options. I really appreciate restaurants that aren’t snotty about you wanting to substitute ingredients. Although the are a little more pricey, it’s really worth it!

This makes no sense, why does a pizza restaurant not have pizza on the lunch menu? Additionally, the regular menu is a little pricy for lunch.

So I come here ever other month or so.
I am addicted to their roasted cauliflower, OMG it is hands down my new favorite item to eat.
They have a very large selection of gluten free options and the staff is always amazing.
I also really enjoy their quinoa salad, the roasted chicken, and gluten free pizzas.
They have GF beer options, but not good ones so here I stick to wine or vodka.
Kid friendly and a beautiful outdoor patio that has a fire pit to keep you warm.

Yummy pizza. Gluten free was great too. Really nice service. We really enjoyed our family dinner here tonight. Will definitely return.

Great for a «casual-​nice» place to eat with good variety. Though I always get the same thing — Balsamic Grilled Chicken Salad — because it is to DIE for. And I usually don’t eve LIKE salads! Their pizza is quite good too, and I’ve had a beef chili there (Kobe Chili maybe?) that was WONDERFUL, just a little small sizewise, IMO — it’s an appetizer, not a meal.
If you get the entertainment coupon book they have great coupons where you get two entrees for the price of one. Great for a business lunch or happy hour (though I think they only serve wine and beer). Wait staff are great, very friendly, never had a bad experience.

Service sucked. The hostess was rude and not inviting at all she had a bad attitude. I had my baby and was try to get through the door with the car seat and another waitress ran into me and didn’t apologize, by the way big lawsuit if i dropped the car seat for her mistake! Our waiter was in such a hurry I felt so rushed through ordering and didn’t enjoy the atmosphere and they told us we only could sit inside. I will NOT be returning. The only reason I gave one star is because the food was good.

The staff has always been a dream! I have really enjoyed speaking with them and think they are all great! Waiters can really make or break an experience! I usually don’t eat at chain restaurants but they make great pasta and have a great selection of wines!

This review is specifically for THIS location only!
Normally I go to the Sammy’s in Point Loma, and I love their food and service down there. Tonight my friend and I decided to try this location since it is closer to us. BIG MISTAKE! The staff seemed nice enough when they seated us, but after that we didn’t interact with anyone. We watched as multiple waiters and staff members passed our table, they would glance at us and then keep walking. Granted I know they were decently busy on this night, but the restaurant wasn’t packed and there seemed to be plenty of waiters on shift tonight. My friend and I sat at our table for a good 25 minutes before we got tired of waiting for someone to come over. We ended up walking out of this restaurant without even being greeted by our waiter. Such a shame, we both usually love the food and staff at other locations. We will never be coming back to this location again due to the service :(

This is my first time at this location and everything was great. I love pizza and have eaten at many pizzerias/​restaurants not only around SD but the US and these pizzas were really good and unique. The Brie cheese and truffle oil pizza was amazing. Also try the bacon, raclette, and fingerling potato pizza. My server, Emily, was not only very knowledgeable about the menu but extremely friendly and attentive. Great experience, I can’t wait to come back!

Just moved to the area and liked the other Sammy’s so we decided to give it a try. Way better! I was a little hesitant because of some of the reviews but Emily quickly put our minds at ease with her smile and quick service.(Chalk that up to crazy vegans on Unilocal) The Brie cheese and truffle oil pizza was amazing! We left full and happy! We found our new pizza spot.

I’ve been coming here weekly for years. They got a new manager a few months ago I believe his name is Rob. He always makes me feel welcome here. I always sit at the bar with Cassie the bartender. I love her she’s the sweetest.

This is one of the bigger Sammy’s location’s I have visited and probably my favorite because it’s continently located by my home!
When it comes to dining out, I prefer sitting at booths indoors and this location 99% of the time, a booth seat is available! Though, if you’re a table type of person or enjoy dining outdoors (beautiful bonfire outside + décor) you can do so as well. During the evenings the outdoors can get a little crowded though.
As far as food/​service, I have never had any problems! Food comes out in a reasonable time frame.

Recently, my bf+I visited during Happy Hour on the weekday at 3pm and it was not at all crowded which was nice! Visit Sammy’s during 3−6pm daily and get half priced tapas (appetizers) $ 2 off beer/​glasses of wine. Perfect spot to relax after work with your significant other, co-​workers, friends/​family and grab a drink!

Within walking distance of our home, this suburban staple has been a part of our community as long as we’ve been here. The first few times, I wasn’t impressed, although I now enjoy it more. A little pricey for what you get, but the taste and quality is consistently good, and the atmosphere is pleasant, assuming you’re not close to a table with loud, poorly-​behaved kids. Pizzas are their feature items, but their burgers and salads are also quite good. Personally, I like more interesting ethnic places, but definitely would not turn down an offer to meet up at Sammy’s.

There are a few vegan options. Shishito Peppers, Baba Ghanouj, Red Quinoa Salad, Hummus, Pizza with Daiya Cheese… Our waitress was friendly and the place has a picturesque décor.
It wasn’t until after waiting 40 minutes for our pizzas that we were informed the veggies on the Veggie Pizza are NOT vegan and neither is the pizza sauce. Both, inexplicably, have cheese in them. You’ll need to order veggies a la carte and ask them to sub the marinara used on their spaghetti. :-\
After messing up our order and taking another half hour to fix it, they charged us full price for the veg pizza without the veg toppings PLUS extra for the spinach and artichokes we got instead. After all that, the manager comes to our table just to say smugly, «So, you can’t have dairy at all huh? Gee, that must make it really tough to eat out, hmmmm?» Actually, no. Most of the time when a restaurant says a dish is vegan or can be made vegan, they’re not jerking our chain, but thank you so much for your condescension and up-​charging us for your mistakes.
Not coming back here.

Great outdoor seating. I’ve been there for lunch many times. You kind of have to wait around for serivce but the food is very good. The lebni cheese plate was soooooo good! The lettuce cups were too lettucey and the dumplings were ok. From the salad section, I like to switch the greens in my chicken salad with spinach. I substituted the regular goat cheese pizza for thin crust and the thin crust was just pita bread so I think the regular who have been better. mini Kobe sliders and tacos are delicious. From the grill section i have eaten the chicken, fish and beef but my favorite was the chicken. For dessert the mini donuts and caramel pudding is pretty good too.
Basically you can hardly make a mistake. So enjoy the YUMMINESS here!

This review is based upon the last two times I visited.
1. Both times, the pizza was excellent. I go gluten free, am very specific about the crust consistency (BURN IT!!!) and they have done it right both times.
2. The first time I went was for takeout, and they missed one of the pizzas. Comped me a glass of wine while I waited, made the pizzas right, and I was happy!
3. Last time we went, was right when the restaurant opened on a Thursday. Staff was plentiful, but completely inattentive, and there was a manager on premises. Did not feel like making a fuss, but would if it happened next time. When we arrived, there was literally only one other 4 top group eating. Staff was texting, eating, screwing around… but they were NOT helping customers.
In the grand scheme, Sammy’s does a good job, the food is consistent, waitstaff is helpful and attentive, and I’m hoping that this last visit was not an indication of a slide in those attributes. It’s not cheap by any means, but it is usually very much worth the cost.

Haven’t eatin here in a minute but I used to always stop by for dinner with my family. Their pizzas and pastas are something else. All the foods that my fam choose have never been a fail and the food’s always been consistent. Sometimes the service can be a little slow because it gets packed but it’s understandable. Now a days I’ve just been ordering to go and the food is still great. Really nice place for a good price. If you’re ever there try the Chicken Tequila Pasta, Grilled Shrimp Salad, or their N.Y. Style pizza! Really bomb food.

Never ate at this location before. We came around 4pm on a Wednesday night, staff saw us but ignored us. Only 2 parties there. So many empty tables but the staff was just plain rude and I guess they wanted to catch up on gossip with each other.
Wish the cooks could have came gave us a table. They saw what was going on but couldn’t do anything about it. Waited for a good 15 mins with no service and no hello. We walked to pick up sticks, we came all the way from 4s ranch to be disappointed.
