Really good pizza! This is going to become my go-to pizza spot in PB from now on. Plus, they have easy online ordering.

Pizza is the best I’ve found in SD! Dine in or take out, it’s always good! Great bar atmosphere too if you just wanna hang out. Live music is a plus!

Opened up the Unilocal app to find a good Pizza location. From reading the reviews, I had to check out the Sandbox. Place and pizza is great. Good selection of craft beer too. Would definitly come back!

We had driven by SandBox a ton of times but were inspired to stop in for happy hour after receiving a flyer in the mail. The décor and atmosphere is really fun and inviting, and the food is delicious. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartenders. And they were all super busy with tons of take-out orders(which is a great sign). We will definitely be going back.

Love the pizza! May be a little pricey but good stuff. Staff is usually friendly and they do trivia one night just don’t remember the day lol Also love the wedge Salad.

Ordered pizza to go here many times I have had the BBQ pizza, pesto pink, and buttermilk bliss. Last time the chicken was super chewy on the pizza. Had to toss it out. Left overs were gross Hopefully if there is a ‘next time’ for me, the chicken wont be chewy

Came here after a day at the beach. Pam was an amazing sever and she was the only one and did it gracefully! Food was amazing… awesome place to come and relax. Definitely will come back of in the area.

Bomb. Spot. Hell. Yes! Def my favorite pizza joint in sd & lets just say sd is lacking in that food category forrrr sure. I’ve tried the BBQ chicken pizza and then the classic pepperoni & both were sooooooo good! & lets not forget the wings! Sweet chili OMG so yummy! Delivery is also clutch!

I went to dinner here a few nights ago & met up with a friend that lives here in San Diego. Me and two friends walked here from our hotel. Our waitress was M something, Maggie or Meg. She had just gotten a mermaid tattoo that day. We were chatting because I have quite a few tattoos as well. Let me just tell you she was awesome! She helped us with anything that we needed. She gave us so many recommendations for food. The pizza we ordered was delicious! We got just a pepperoni and sausage pizza. She recommended we get mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and she was on point! The appetizer was delicious and so was the pizza. She also recommended a drink, she was explaining all the different things in it & as soon as she said moonshine we said YES! Haha She did a really great job. The restaurant itself was really cool too. It was a little quiet but a nice spot. I will definitely be back!

I hate to give this place only two stars. But I must and I’ll explain why. The good: delivery was VERY fast(less than 30 minutes), the delivery guy was cute and polite, online ordering was fairly simple. Food was decently priced. The food: the wings tasted good but they were pretty small. Not a huge deal. The pizza was so bad that I am forced to give 2 stars. I am actually stunned by the 4.5 star rating. This pizza is on par with Lamppost and Pizza Hut. The«zesty marinara» was just watery tomato sauce, nothing zesty about it at all. The cheese is just like really cheap chain pizza cheese. The crust looks unusual because it’s «misshapen» or messy looking but it’s just plain tasting crust like any chain pizza joint. Bland, flavorless, disappointing pizza. Unfortunately, the good service isn’t enough to make up for bad pizza. I haven’t found any really good pizza in San Diego except for Pizza Port. I’m thinking I should just give up on the search and stick with that.

This is my new pizza joint. My wife and I love the pizza here. The price isn’t bad, the service is great, and the place is very well designed. They have a jukebox that you can pick some music and they also have trivia night.(I forgot the nights) Overall I am glad this place joined the Pacific Beach restraunts. We will be back.

Oh My Gaaawsh! I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this business that I hold dear to my inner fat kid heart. First of all. Delivery. Hangover on a Sunday afternoon? Sandbox. Giant mound of vanilla ice cream smushed in between two chocolate chip cookies, SANDBOX. I am salivating writing this review thinking about the heavenly pizza. They have a certain technique and style to the way the create their pies. The toppings they add to the pies are abundant. Meat, cheese, meat, cheese, meat, cheese, yummy stuff, cheese, yummy sauce, cheese. Get it? Oh, and the nomenclature for the menu items are clever and very«PB». Are you stoned? You came to the right place. Try the PB Stoner Calzone. Ranch! Ranch and cheese and meat. Get it? Wow, I am hungry now! Not only is delivery great from this place, the dining in experience is also pretty darn good for a pizza place. Nice patio, large tables for parties, and a full bar. I could do with out the smoking on the patio. I feel like smokers can take their smokey ass a few feet outside the patio so I’m not breathing in camel crush with my sacred Sand Box. Mmmmmmm mmmmmmm mmmmmmmmm GOOD!

I’ve had pizza delivered from here several times and it is always delicious but last night was the first time I had actually been to the location. We went for trivia night and the place was packed! Such a fun environment! They have tv’s set up all around so you can watch the games while your team fights for that top spot! They have a wide selection of beers and the calzones are extra yummy! Sandbox is a low key spot to grab a beer & watch a game away from the madness of the beach bars.

Seriously such a good pizza! We tried the Buttermilk Pizza and it was really yummy! There were a lot of onion on it but surprisingly it didn’t taste like a lot of onion! The crust is nice and thin but not too thin and holds the toppings and weight of the pizza well! Warning: I ordered pick up through Unilocal and was not able to use the check in coupon when I picked up and checked in. The pizza crust is so good!

…whoa. This pizza … this pizza ISFANTASTIC! Where have you been, SandBox?!? Where have I been?!? I got to taste the Hawaiian 5 – 0(has fancy ham, pineapple chunks, bacon??) and of course my go-to pizza– PEPPERONI! Yum! You know when a pizza is kinda bleh and instead of eating the crust you eat what you like then throw the pizza bone to the side? Well, hoho NOTTHISPIZZA! You’ll eat the scrumptious crust with pleasure for its not at all too thick nor super thin! It’s craziness but everything is cooked perfectly :) As for the atmosphere, it’s family friendly and there are lots of TVs for your football viewing pleasure! Hmmm… I gotta mention though, I found it kind of odd that the same napkins that are given to you for eating are the same napkins used to dry your washed hands in the restroom. Something about that made me a little… uncomfortable. BUTHEY the pizza is so delicious that it discounts the mere mention! :P HAPPYPIZZA!

Buttermilk Bliss is such a great pizza! It’s so delicious you can’t stop eating it! And their calzones are huge! We shared the«PB Stoner Calzone» and the Buttermilk Bliss Pizza. Both did not disappoint. In fact, they both exceeded my expectations far more than I could ever dream! The pizza crust was on point and held the toppings well. The pizza itself has a buttermilk base, and is topped with bacon, pulled chicken, onions, pepper-Jack cheese, fresh garlic and mozzarella cheese. We asked the sweetest girl ever, who took our order, to omit the garlic, since I’m not that big of a garlic fan(on pizza, that is). The calzone has almost the exact same ingredients, except it’s a calzone, so it’s covered with a nice perfectly baked crust, enveloping the flavors inside with a moist, tasty interior. Both were large enough that we had leftovers for lunch the next day. There were two very nice servers, who came over by us to chat, and we engaged in some nice conversation while waiting for our food. They were telling us all about the two young ladies who were vendors, who were there to promote«Buckshot Peppered Maple». This product hasn’t been released yet, and they were making the rounds, offering free promo shots. Well, I was all over that because it smelled so good and mapely(is that a word? Lol!) I loved it and had a couple shots. The maple flavor in this buckshot made it smooth and easy going down, and I could tell had I had more, it would’ve crept up on me fast. It was that good. Since I was driving, I decided to stop at two shots, but you can bet I’ll be buying some buckshot once it’s released. Lol. A guy in a band was setting up on the stage and asked me if I was going to stay for karaōke. I laughed and told him I’d have to have at least a few more drinks to garner enough courage to get up there and sing. He laughed and I laughed. SandBox Pizza is a very chill place with a great atmosphere, great people, great food, and just an all-around great pizza/calzone place in Pacific Beach. 5STARS! :))

Actually went in and had a sit-down meal tonight. Wow, SandBox!!! What a cool spot. Nice patio area and a sporty/rustic interior complete with large picnic tables, huge, flat screen tvs, foosball and shuffleboard tables, and a bar area. Service… Great. Food… really great! Prices… Would love if they were all $ 2-$ 3 cheaper… But… The food! Protein salad plus chicken(spinach, Craisins, ricotta, sunflower seeds with balsamic) — Decent size but could benefit from more of the toppings… It felt a little too bare for an almost $ 12 salad. Cheesy garlic bread — smelled amazing. Tasted great, reminiscent of Papa Johns old school cheese sticks(yum!) except with less chemicals and real ingredients. We asked for extra cilantro and our server offered whole or the sauce and she kindly came back with a big bunch of cilantro for us, no hassles whatsoever. Extra kudos for that! Wings(fiery bbq) — on the smaller size but great flavor balanced with a nice kick(more medium than hot) and perfect crispiness beneath the sauce. No complaints. Just wish it was a little more affordable so I could eat it more often!!!
