i got my hair done today by the talented and personable Taylor, who not only gives an amazing amazing head massage, but also teaches about hair technique and what to do to achieve the look he’s doing. Its the best cut I’ve had in FOREVER. The salon was just my style, red, peacocks, waving luck kitty, and everyone I came in contact with was so friendly. The product line he recommended has made my hair way more than I thought it could be, and it smells heavenly. The cut itself it flows so well, its just what i wanted, I can’t wait for my color on the next visit! You are the BEST!!!

Taylor… thank you so much for the haircut. You did a great job :) Salon is very welcoming and chill. Everyone was very friendly. good music too. $ 95 for color… knowing i have no hair is a bit too pricey. i have a pixie cut… meaning no hair.

This place is awesome. Christine and staff are super talented at what they do, and everything in the salon is clean and stylish. They are even talking soon about reinstating the bar in the back of the salon, which sounds amazing. I recently received a new european protein treatment called structure front that they are just starting to offer, and this stuff is absolutely amazing. I have never seen it any other salon. My hair is white blonde, and I really feel that even if I am as carefully as physically possible with it, it just seems to break and get shorter. I’ve had several of those Keratin brazilian blowout treatments as well, and those things seem to just cause even more breakage, although they do smooth out curl. This new stuff seemed to fill in every gap in my broken ends, my hair looks like 2 inches longer, feels thicker and healthier. Highly Highly recommend it for anyone with chemically or heat processed hair.

Never been a huge fan of haircuts, or brushing it for that matter. i have the hair of a 5 year old little girl, its super fine. hince why i let it do what it wants, its gonna end up wispy and wavy at the end of the day reguardless. my buddy convinced me to come into her shop and check it out. not gonna lie, salons scare me. lol. one wrong snip can be terrible! these kids were super awesome. i was very impressed. slightly nervous when i walked up, the girlie that was gonna do my hair had a fashion show so she hooked me up with someone else at the shop. Taylor, Taylor you are awesome. best scalp massage ever! ive decided that i need to go everyday before and after work, simply to get my hair washed. the haircut was gnarly. ill definitely be back. hands down best salon experience. the people are chill, the vibe is chill, and if your not frightened by tattoos and good conversations you should check it out. :)

had an appointment set a week in advance. needed hair done for special afternoon event. was contacted by stylist the evening before saying that they would be out of town for a hair class/show/something and that so-and-so could do my hair the next day instead. now, i’m weird about my hair after being butchered for a hair show at the paul mitchell school so i said, thanks but no. i rescheduled with a friend after that convo and it ended up okay. i would understand more if i was just a random client but i thought this stylist and i were friends.

I’m not a big fan of haircuts. My hair tends to reject all hairstyles and fall into a wavy bob that grows quickly into disarray. I don’t even own a hairdryer… so all of my hair salon trips end in tragedy. The gals at Scissors and Guns are the first stylists understand how to tackle stubborn hair. The hands-on approach they use is almost as wonderful as their hair care products… and the scalp massage you get in the shampoo chair is heavenly. The shop has a laid-back, friendly vibe, great décor and some of the most genuinely honest and attentive stylists and some of the most reasonable prices I’ve ever encountered. And what you get for the money is fantastic: a great cut that works with your hair and your lifestyle and a relaxing and warm experience that makes even salon-leery people like me feel right at home. Scissors and Guns is a real salon for real people. It’s as simple as that.

The enviornment and stylists at Scissors & Guns make my every visit enjoyable and perfect! The quality of the product used is amazing with long lasting results. The knowledge of the color specialists have made a fabulous change in my hair color choice, style and everyday up keep. I was given detailed hair care advice that I use daily! I even bought the gift set product for myself as a special treat. the price and quality were just right! I am definitely going back(as I have repeatedly have)… My personal stylist of choice is Angie Ama! She gives the greatest scalp massages & fun conversation to every customer! I have been loyal to her for over 3 years! Not gonna stop now!!! She ALWAYS makes me feel welcome and a part of the amazing atmosphere! Also a side note. the décor of the salon is outrageous & stunningly HoT! The art work and layout of the place is magazine cover worthy for sure!

Let me just start by saying that throughout college at San Diego State, I paid $ 5 for a haircut, at a nail salon on El Cajon Blvd. Following my graduation from college(and a pay increase from my new career) I upgraded to the Super Cuts and their $ 15 hair cuts($ 18 with shampoo). After marrying the girl of my dreams(and her expensive habits), I started getting $ 50 – 60 haircuts from«stylist» in La Jolla. Luckily, I have found the perfect place and the perfect group that can make me look good at a reasonable price. I currently get a haircut/style that’s the best of both worlds. My awesome stylist Christine, has given me the opportunity to get a business cut, that can easily turn to a hip funky style after hours(with some products of course). She also charges me less then those La Jolla stylists, with a better cut anyways! Overall: Awesome Location: This place is easy to get to. You just take the 163 south to Downtown. 3 lights later(maybe 4) It’s right there on E St. Price: Great compared to any other independent stylist Quality: Have you seen me lately? Damn I am a sexy beast!

I’d rate Scissors and Guns(At the Rosary Room) a 4 ½ and guarantee that it will be a 5 star in 6 – 12 months. Christine«The Hair Wisperer» Dillon’s new place. I found the place as it’s down the street from another business I work with. Hip and inventive, and full of talent. Young and Vibrant. Exciting. That would be a good bit for you to get a vibe about this place. As if the vibe is not enough, go check some of the airbrushings and the huge peacock mural in the back(left from the«Rosary Room», Pokez ill-fated alcohol bar, that I guess got shut down from underage drinking and after-hours schennagings). But even more, is that the hair cuts are superb. I am a cheapskate when it comes to my hair cuts, sports clips or Rocco’s are my traditional hair cuts, wielding a coupon for a barber on steroids experience… But this is the real deal. A little spendy, but you’ll get a haircut good enough for a special occasions or a big night out. Never had my hair shampooed before AND after, plus the warm towel, head massage treatment. The owner has grand plans for this east village Salon w/a good attitude, I wish her luck. She definitely has the talent, I don’t remember the last time my hair looked so good.
