I contacted Bob about creating a custom engagement ring and he has been incredible to work with. While his shop is in San Diego and I am in North Carolina, he went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable with the design, diamond quality, and even the smallest details. We communicated via email and phone and he produced an amazing ring at a wonderful price. I can’t thank him enough for his craftsmanship and flexibility to work with a customer so far away. I wanted a wonderful ring from a jeweler in the San Diego area and Bob was the perfect fit.

Getting my engagement ring from Bob was an incredible experience. First of all, my [then] fiancé took me to look at different ring styles as a surprise. Bob was recommended to him by a friend. We came and talked to Bob for over an hour. Since I was caught off guard, I had no idea whatsoever as to what I was looking for in a ring. With great patience, knowledge and humor, Bob walked us through all the options. I had selected three beautiful settings so I kind of knew what to expect and, still, when the actual proposal came, I was stunned by the beauty of the ring. It’s truly unique and I am grateful to Bob for guiding me and my fiancé through this experience. Later, when I was shopping for a wedding band for my fiancé, I checked out a few other jewelers (only because we live in North County and I was hoping to find something locally…) Sure enough, we came back to Bob :-) Great selection, most reasonable pricing and the best service. Bob, is simply the best. All things Bob and Bob-​related can only be defined as true opulence.
I had the good fortune of asking a friend where he got his engagement ring from and he pointed me to Bob. I was initially just testing the waters, halfway expecting to go somewhere else thinking that a private jeweler wouldn’t be very interested in my presumed price-​range, or would be annoyed by my utter lack of knowledge about engagement rings (seriously, I knew nothing. Wedding band? What the hell is that?) and be treated like a degenerate hobo.
Suffice to say I was absolutely floored by what an unfailingly kind and generous person Bob was. He answered all my ridiculous questions, worked very hard to suit my ridiculous needs, and even met my ridiculous mother whose sole intention was to meet (and yell at) Bob for selling me a diamond which she herself had not approved of prior — who I might add amazingly also walked away totally happy with Bob!

And lest you think Bob only sells jewelry, you are mistaken. What is NOT advertised along with the jewelry is a free wealth of knowledge and experience which he possesses in the clumsy art of engaging in monogamy. The man knows quite a bit about the decisions and implications of the action you’re about to take. Listen to him, he will not steer you wrong. His input in the matter will perhaps exceed those of your closest friends.
As for the product itself — immaculate. After I proposed, the lady walked around for about 2 hours straight taking ring selfies and talking endlessly at how strikingly perfect it was. Sometimes the reflection from the stone will catch my eye from across our home. It really just is such a quality stone, and his workmanship on the the ring itself is gorgeous. Happy wife, happy life as Bob frequently says.
Don’t go to Jared (and risk murder by your Prius), don’t go to Robbins Brothers, don’t go to Zales — and don’t get hustled. The man has an entrepreneur of the year award, and provides what I personally feel is emotionally and financially necessary to any man or woman who is on the cusp of proposing to their loved ones. I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough.

I can’t say enough good things about Bob Silverman. He is awesome! My husband and I have been doing business with him for over 16 years. We bought my original engagement ring from him and recently when we decided to upgrade after many years of marriage we went back to Bob. He was such a joy to work with… he helped us get the biggest, best ring that we could within our budget. This is his specialty! I’m a certified gemologist (from GIA) and I know that Bob is honest, loves what he does and will make your jewelry dreams a reality. He can have any jewelry design made and/​or he deals in vintage/​estate jewelry as well. There are excellent cost advantages for going to a wholesaler like Bob vs going to a retail store… so go see him. You will be so happy! Have fun jewel shopping!

I contacted Bob, not kowing he was the owner, and asked questions regarding a custom ring. I had such a delightful conversation with him. From the start, he was incredibly kind and asked me the right questions to know exactly what I was looking for. When I asked for an estimate he called me roughly an hour later with an AMAZING price that I hadn’t found anywhere else. He then followed up with me through email. I highly, highly recommend using Bob as he is patient, kind, has great follow up, and extremely good prices. He wont haggle you and is very forthcoming with what he can offer. Wonderful man!

My fiancé found Bob through the recommendation from a friend who also used him for an engagement and wedding ring. My fiancé had some ideas in mind and had done some research on diamond quality before he met Bob. Bob took it steps further and was so informative about the the ring construction, the buying process, and diamond knowledge, that my fiancé felt like an expert when he left. After all this, he definitely knows more then me on the subject, that’s for sure!
Bob brought his ideas to life. He has many samples to look at for ideas and years and years and years + (can’t remember how many he said but it was a lot!) of experience in the jewelry business.
When it was time to choose wedding bands, it was a no brainer that we were going back to Bob. I got to meet him this time. Let me see this guy who helped create such an amazing engagement ring! So now even I think Bob is awesome. He explained the process to me so that I understood how my ring was made. He is super personable and trustworthy. True, all businesses are for profit (most anyway), even with that being said, I still walked out thinking that Bob wanted to: build rapport which increased our comfort level, provide honest service by guiding us with facts and being patient with our questions, and create value with this one on one interaction with a jeweler.
I like personalized, one on one service with someone that, if they treat me right, I will give my repeat business to in the future. I am glad my fiancé thinks the same way. That is why he chose Bob over your typical jewelery store. I most certainly will recommend him and use him again.
