Starling Painting

Mark Steliga is a true professional. After recently purchasing a condo in the Little Italy area of San Diego, we obtained three painting bids, one of which was Starling Painting. The owner Mark was immediately responsive to my initial phone call to inquire about a time to arrange an estimate. We agreed upon a date and time that was convenient. The day prior to our appointment, Mark called to confirm we were still on schedule. The day of, Mark called me to advise he had secured parking in a what can be a very challenging location and time of day on a Saturday in Little Italy with a very well attended Farmer’s Market going on. As I walked with him through each room in the condo, discussing our color selections and work I had envisioned; he took notes, made suggestions (to spray baseboards, trim and doors vs. rolling) and carefully took pictures of each room. Mark emailed me a detailed estimate the following Monday. Several days later, he reached out to inquire if we had any questions on his bid. Needless to say we went with Mark and we agreed upon a start date and discussed the time frame he would need to complete the job. Each day, of the 4 days, he worked on our condo he arrived exactly at the time he said he would. He was very thorough in prepping, tapping off, covering furniture, and protecting our wood floors. He called me each day when he finished to advise me what he had completed and that it was ok for us to return. Upon completion of the job, we walked through the condo together. He assured me that if there were any areas I saw that didn’t meet my satisfaction that he would come back and touch up. We couldn’t be more happy with the time, effort, professionalism, promptness, and tidy job he did all while working with our budget. We would recommend him 100% to anyone.

Mark takes great pride in his work and it shows. His lines are straight and color coverage is complete. Most important of all, he’s extremely diligent at prepping/​masking so when he’s done there are no surprises to clean up.
We’ve hired a few different painters for various projects over the years, but until now hadn’t found one we truly liked. It was refreshing to work with someone with no language barrier, competitive prices, and great results. Too bad we didn’t find him sooner, but we’ll definitely hire him again for the next project.

Mark was quick, professional, punctual, and right on budget. He did a meticulous job painting our bathroom on short notice. We are definitely planning on calling him again for paint jobs in the future.

These guys are great! We were on a tight budget/​time constraints and through a friends recommendation, we requested a quote. They came all the way to up to Irvine, kept us under budget, finished well ahead of schedule, while providing a first class job on our house exterior and interior before our open house.
Will definitely repeat for our new home!
