Came here for the first time and I wasn’t disappointed. I really liked the place and how the set everything up. I ordered a cheeseburger and added bacon to it. The bacon and patty was really good and I also ordered a nut brown ale I thought it was a good beer. Over all I liked the atmosphere was really relaxing. The service was good and the food was really good. I will definitely be going back

Eating out with toddlers — The. Struggle. Is. REAL. Thank god for places like Station Tavern & Burgers. This hip indoor/outdoor restaurant is a great place for the family(and your dog, I saw dogs when I was there). There’s a full bar, reasonably priced kid-friendly and vegetarian-friendly food, AND a cute little trolley playground area for the wee ones. The place is open seating and rather popular on Friday/Saturday nights. Parking is a beast, but that’s expected in this neighborhood. They’ve got a nice selection of craft beers but a limited menu of only burgers and the burgers don’t come with fries, but a large side is enough for a family of 10+ seriously HUGE. The garlic fries are incredible, they use mashed roasted garlic and smear it around for an intense taste. Overall if you’re in SD with little kids, this is the place to go!

Whenever I’m craving a good burger, the family and I head down here even if it is a drive from Mira Mesa. 99% of the time I top my burger with a fried egg. My wife’s go-to is the black bean burger with a spicy Bloody Mary to wash it down. The kids gobble up their hot dogs and tater tots, then head on over to the train while mommy and daddy finish their beverages. It’s completely kid-friendly and the food always hits the spot. Great weekend lunch spot on a sunny San Diego day with the family.

This restaurant is in the cute neighborhood of South Park and came recommended from a friend who lives in the neighborhood. We had burgers and they were excellent! Juicy and flavorful and tasted fresh. It’s a half inside/outside bar atmosphere with kids running around and super laid back ambiance. I will definitely be going back!

Came here with a total group of 6 after I was picked up from the airport. Have heard good things about the Station but never checked it out on my own. Service seemed to be lacking the night we went… Entered the place and was kinda sorta greeted?! I’m still not sure if this is a seat yourself place or not, but we went ahead and did that. The guy did gesture that we could sit outside(inside was a bit busy and we had a big group). Was unsure if there was table service as well… didn’t have menus for awhile but finally met our server. Anyway — service isn’t that big of a deal to me, but I know to some it is. Menu is pretty simple, straightforward. We were mainly here for the tots and they had a special that night on some sloppy joe tots. I ordered a Yardbird and took some bites of the tots too. The Yardbird was okay — nothing special at all, but it filled me up. The sloppy joe tots were pretty good. Good portion size too. Menu items are suuuper affordable, it was heaven. The burgers are $ 7 I think — but that’s probably because they don’t come with sides or anything so you gotta order your tots and whatnot separately. It adds up but not by that much! Beer selection was aight. Wasn’t too impressed with any of the choices, but glad they had choices. Cool set up here too. It’s like public transport station themed… hmmm. Outside patio is big. Was a bit chilly to sit out there on a January night but I liked the spaciousness.

Great neighborhood gem. Food is good and reasonably priced. The spicy black bean burger has great flavor and the homemade dressings are pretty incredible, specifically their vinaigrette and honey mustard. The salad is good size with a good variety of veggies and the tatter tots are well seasoned. Inside seating is limited but there are heaters outside so it’s all comfortable. Lastly, great décor and friendly staff Not life changing but a solid four-stars, worth checking out.

In all honesty, the food really isn’t anything to loose your mind over. Although it is crowd pleasing and covers all your basics. But I will say, I’m giving this spot 4 stars just because of how awesomely kid friendly it is. As a mom of an active 4 year old, It is near and dear to my heart to find spots that are kid friendly and this place is just that. I would absolutely go again just because I know my 4 year old will have a blast there!

If you haven’t tried this place, you’re fucking up. Every time someone wants to meet in SP, I take them here. I haven’t ordered anything I didn’t like. I’m not even a vegetarian, but I’ll suggest their black bean burger bc it’s that great! And they serve tater tots. What adult doesn’t like tater tots? I mean really? Not a beer drinker, so I can’t say much there, but their mules and bloodys are always on point. Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Family friendly. Sweet environment. Can’t go wrong here.

Such yummy, yummy food!!! Perfect ambiance, I’ve never seen it get too crazy. Quick and sweet service. My favorite things are the black bean burger(yumm!!!) and the outside seating that makes you feel like you’re in your backyard. So quaint. And such a perfect lil’ fit for this neighborhood :-))

Stopped by during the South Park«walk about» in December. The location is great, and it had a ton of room. My favorite part was the great outdoor seating, there were benches and heating lamps outside which made sitting out there at 11pm in December very comfortable. My friends had their special«walk about» cider and loved it, but unfortunately they ran out… I tried the sangria. I would try something new next time though I enjoyed the drink. Our waitress was very sweet, and it looked like everyone was happy to be working there, which I always appreciate. Overall a great place to sit outside and enjoy the neighborhood of South Park, I’ll visit again soon.

Food: mostly burgers and a salad on their menu. I ordered a cheese burger for $ 8. Came w pepper jack cheese. Burger was juicy and a tiny bit dry. The bun was moist and crisp. Veggies were really fresh tasting. The hamburger patty was pretty big too. Mayo came on the side, but I didn’t need it. Ketchup and mustard are at each table if needed. I had a few of a friends sweet potato fries and they were pretty good. A little on the crispy side if you like them that way. Seasoning was perfect. A large order is $ 6 and is good for 3 or 4 peeps. I also tried some garlic tater tots and these were amazing! I will get these next time. Service: server was great and we did not have to wait for a table at all on a Tuesday early afternoon. Service w a smile goes a long way. Parking: all street parking. I parked about a block away and walked over. Not too many spots, but I scored one in the neighborhood behind the place. All parking is free and there are some money spots in front of the place. Atmosphere: great outdoor feeling here. Dogs are welcome here and there is a small play area for kids that is fenced off. Bench seating with a few tables to sit 4. Heat lamps are outside and they were not on while we were there and it was a little cold out. TVs are inside close to the bar. Cool place to grab a burger. Quick service and good food and sides. Water is located on the wall where the street is and you pour it yourself.

They don’t offer a whole lot of seating so wait time can take a while Food: great hamburgers and fries, yum Drinks: all beers and mixed drinks are awesome !! Love the area for the kids

This has got to be one of the cutest, most charming burger bars I have been in! I really liked the open space, the use of the woodwork, and just how chill the atmosphere felt. As me and my friends sat down, the server got to us pretty quickly and took down orders. It felt a little bit awkward at first since I’m the type who likes asking about the food(yo– what type of tea is this? Black? ‘…’), but its probably because most of the people just order and stuff. Nice– but stiff! My group decided to sample the turkey burger, the classic hamburger, and the spicy black bean burger – OFCOURSEWITHAVOCADO!– and share a platter of tater tots(apparently, they are known to be good here!). We didn’t wait for too long before everything got to the table and we dug in. My impression of the food: — Turkey Burger: A bit flavorless, not that exciting. Not too dry– but just not that exciting! I wish there was more spices! — Classic Hamburger: Better than the turkey burger, but this is not the best burger I ever had. Pickles made it decent. — Spicy Black Bean Burger: The winner of the trio! Delicious, flavorful patty with mild spices– but ITSSOTHINTTTT I cry everytime… — Tater Tots: Good! But I don’t see how it is so unique. It seemed generic. — Ranch Dressing: WOW– Tangy, creamy, perfect. — Lime Cilantro Dressing: I think this was what it was, but this was totally my favorite out of all the sauces. I dunked into that little silver tubbie so much. — Chipotle Mayo: Not impressive. But then again, I was never fond of mayonnaise. My biggest compliant: With the burgers– there is FAR too much bread. The bun I had on my black bean burger was literally 2−3x the height of the patty. Carbs are good BUTMANNTHISIS A LOTOFBREAD! I felt a little bit jipped since I wanted a burger… thats a burger. You know what I’m saying? TL;DR– 3 stars for food + 1 more for how chill this little place was.

Awesome little neighborhood burger joint, great outdoor, hipster vibe. Burgers are all along here, you can’t really go wrong. They have a weekly sloppy joe special(I think on Thursday maybe?) that I would also highly recommend. This place is super dog and kid friendly. They even have an outdoor kiddy play area.

Dog friendly, tater tots, & an outdoor patio… I’m in! I’ve been drooling over the Trainwreck Tots I’ve been eyeing on Unilocal.Sadly, they’re only available Friday & Saturday. :(Why?! I ended up ordering the Breakfast Sandwich with a sausage patty & small Tater Tots to satisfy my craving. It took me a couple of bites to get to the sausage patty & it was so greasy. I also ordered the Mix Tape Mule to drink & it was ok. Nothing special about it. The patio is a cool spot to hang out. The bench tables & dim lighting gave it a laid back vibe. Service could be better. We had to flag down a waitress to give us a menu & she snuck the check without asking if we wanted anything else. Overall, I give this place 3.5 stars. Heads up! Open seating. Dog friendly as well as kid friendly. There’s a small play area that’s fenced off.

My first time venturing to South Park… Yes first time. Ever. I really didn’t know what existed down there. My coworker always tell me it’s the new North Park but not so PB boys graduated into faux hipster NP type of deal… So after the beach my BF and I made our way to South Park. And yes my coworker is right! Neat olé neighborhood. Very homey. We drove up Fern and I love all the trees and the domesticated houses. Sure some houses looked ghetto but others were so adorable. Station tavern was situated among little cute shop shacks and big trees. First thing I noticed when I walked in… dogs and kids. Very dog friendly and kid friendly. The place was bright and airy with a big open bar and seating inside and picnic tables outside. We initially sat outside but I’m a big germaphobe and didn’t like dogs to be near my food or even the dirt ground and there were flies everywhere… So we switched to inside and sat near the open windy with good wind flow. I ordered a Bloody Mary to get in my veggies for the day. It was a spicy BM but I love it! Especially the pickled string bean. I was craving a sausage and they had bratwurst for $ 6! It came out perfect on a toasted pretzel bun. The pretzel bun was amazing and went well with the sausage. The pretzel bun didn’t have salt on it(which was good). What made it great was the spicy Dijon mustard, tasted like horseradish Dijon. It was bomb and had that good wasabi taste. Loved it! Burgers and tots looked good too, next time!

If you want to experience unsupervised children and animals without paying $ 50 for a ticket to the San Diego zoo, station tavern is the place for you. The wait time for our party of 6 on a Saturday afternoon was 1 hr. Meanwhile, 2 people were occupying an entire long bench all to themselves. The two boys in our group went to the play area where a kid fell off of the play trolley and kids were throwing gravel at each other. The icing on the cake was entitled dog owners who put their dog on a barrel table(meant to hold drinks). When we brought this up to our waiter it was dismissed. The burgers are good but the same can be said about A LOT of other places in San Diego.

The Station is an easy«let’s settle this ‘what the hell should we have for dinner?’» argument location for us. We eat here a few times a month. They have a rotating beer selection, a couple of different burgers/patty selections, the most delicious tater tots and sweet potato fries I ever did eat. Outdoor seating makes it convenient to hang with your friends with dogs. They have a little playground for children. A serve yourself water station. All kinds of greatness. My favorite to order is a cheeseburger with pepperjack cheese, a fried egg, and bacon.

CITYBEATBURGERWEEK #7 «Turkey can never beat Cow» — Ron Swanson Loaded with beef burgers, my stomach, arteries and body fat pleaded me to take a beef break… the Burger Week $ 5 for the Turkey Burger(reg $ 8), but only $ 10 with fries and any craft beer… AWESOME! Ron Swanson is right, as always… Turkey can never beat Cow, but this was still a darn tasty burger. If Station Tavern’s turkey burger is that good, I can only imagine their beef burger being even better. Sorry Turkey!

Went to Station Tavern for a friends Sunday lunch birthday. ATMOSPHERE: fun and friendly, we had a group of 20 and the waitress was able to take multiple credit cards and cash as payment which I greatly appreciated(some places don’t do that and it can be a pain). A plus: Dogs welcome … BUT… the outside area is dirt so if you don’t mind your pup getting dirty, you are golden. Kids welcome — there is a play area for kids to play at when parents are eating and drinking FOOD: TOTS — delicious, get them. No questions asked. BLACKBEANBURGER — tasty and flavorful. BUT… falls apart easily, but overall, great choice for a vegetarian option.
