I’ve been going to Rebecca for a few years now and I can’t recommend her enough! She’s professional, highly skilled, quick, thorough, and hilarious! Seriously! I mean, it’s going to hurt and I’m a complete wimp but I’ve felt at ease since my first visit and have always been happy with my results. Her scheduling is flexible and easy to use. And her prices are excellent! A couple times I’ve had appointments with other sugarers in her salon and have been happy with those results too! Swanky Sugar is a gem!

What an amazing place! I have been getting only a few treatments of electrolysis on my face and the results are life changing. No more plucking unwanted hairs, I feel so happy to be able to go to Rebecca. She is experienced and very sweet, and I feel very comfortable and safe in her adorable space. I also tried sugaring my armpits with her 3 weeks ago and the hair has barely grown back! So much better than waxing. Thank you!!!

Today was my very first experience with sugaring. Megan was my «sugarista», I informed her that it was my very first time at that spa and sugaring. She talked me through the entire process and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. I’m 100% sold on sugaring! If you decide to get this process done, I highly recommend Megan!

Love this place!!! I will never go anywhere else! Rebecca is amazing and makes you feel like so comfortable like you’re chatting with a friend. The sugaring is much easier on the skin than regular waxing and the appointments are so much shorter! Not to mention little pain! I will never go back to regular waxing nor will I go to another spa.

Second chances were worth it here. My first experience had me sincerely worried about returning but I’m glad I was able to.
Rebecca is the owner, and one of the sugarists at this facility. She reached out to me after my first review and she was who took care of me today. She has a wonderful attitude and demeanor. She did a wonderful job taking care of my needs today and my session was exactly as I expect after more than 10 years of sugaring or waxing. The ambiance was consistent to what I liked my first visit, and I will be a regular here if I can keep getting what I experienced today!

I love Jessica and Rebecca! I could not imagine getting sugared anywhere else. They both do such a thorough job, are always friendly and welcoming, and you’re in and out within 15 minutes. Wonderful experience today. I was easily able to book with Rebecca for Electrolysis. The spa was easy to find and had plenty of parking. It’s so cute inside and she was really sweet and professional. We had a little extra time so we were able to start on another area (I went in for a few hairs on my chin) and we were able to determine a treatment path to get rid of all the stray hairs on various areas of my body. Very reasonable pricing, paid by time and I like that the treatment really targets each individual stubborn hair.

I was referred by a friend. My technician was Sarah, she was awesome. I got a Brazilian which wasn’t my first time doing it, it was my first time at this particular place. She was extremely nice and made me feel comfortable. The set up of the business is really cute and clean. I would definitely go back to Sarah.

Being a first timer to any form of body removal (waxing, sugaring, etc.) I was so nervous to try sugaring — even though I had wanted a Brazilian for the longest time!
Rebecca seriously put all my worries at ease. She was so sweet, laid back and explained everything to me about sugaring & how to maintain good aftercare. Throughout the process she kept good convo which made it easy to relax.
If you are questioning getting a sugaring — DO IT! I am so BEYOND happy with the results, I’ve never looked this good & as for winter aka summer in Ocean Beach, I am ready :)

Such a perfect establishment. Staff is super friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Was a first timer, had nothing but the best experience. Highly recommended to all. Will keep going back. The décor was so beautiful and purple ;). Very comfortable relaxed atmosphere.

The girls at Swanky Sugar are AMAZING!!! I’ve been sugared by Ariel and Melissa… they are both great at their jobs and they are really great people… all women should try this! It’s so much better than traditional waxing… they have turned me into a VERY loyal client.

I have been sugared plenty of times but i was looking for a new place to get my brazillian in San Diego. I made a last minute appointment with Ariel and she was really nice, personable, and super friendly. She was also pretty fast, when i thought we were halfway done, we were actually completely done. Also when i inspected myself in the mirror later i didnt see any stray or missed hairs. There is also a parking lot which I appreciated too.
my only gripe with the place/​services is that they didnt have me fill out any type of consultation form or paperwork which was a bit suspicious and they didnt «prep» my skin with any powder or toner to kinda clean the area (not just shower beforehand) and i think that had to do with why i had so much irritation for a long time afterwards. Also found it a bit strange that they don’t clean the sugar off themselves, that they had me do it myself with a warm towel when i can’t really see where there is sugar remaining, felt like i wasn’t cleaning anything off efficiently.

I went in for my first Brazilian sugaring 3 weeks ago and it was THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!

First session is a teeny bit painful– but not too bad! The final result is amazing.
Stop what you’re doing and go get sugared!

So I decided to try sugaring after a not-​so-​great experience with waxing. I found Swanky Sugar online and made an appointment for a Brazilian with Ariel. I’m glad I did. Ariel was so great. Before she started, she clarified what I wanted her to do. She talked to me the whole time to keep me distracted (it kinda worked, but who’s not gonna notice hair being ripped from their nether regions lol). She was super nice and very professional. Since it was my first time with sugaring, she had no problems explaining the process, how it works or what she doing. She was completely understanding about my jerking in the most sensitive areas. She was very thorough, making sure she got every hair, cleaned up any remaining sugar and gave me a warm towel to clean up the rest. Overall, my experience here was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place, and Ariel, to anyone looking to try sugaring.

This Unilocal review is LONG over due.
I’ve been seeing Rebecca on a continuous basis since last February or March for both Brazilians and electrolysis and am more than satisfied with the service I have received for over a year now.
Rebecca makes you feel so comfortable and gets you in and out of a Brazilian before you even realize what’s happening. Sugaring here is way less painful during and after hair removal compared to your usual waxing experience. I used to get extremely red for a long time after waxing before Swanky Sugar but now my skin completely restores itself quickly after sugaring AND I never have any sticky mess to deal with afterwards.
If you have been debating on getting your first Brazilian or sugaring experience, I say you need to see Rebecca immediately and you will never look back.
As for the electrolysis, literally life changing. I used to have to worry about dark thick hairs on my face and chin (thank you Italian genes) and now these are something I never need to think about. It might seem a tad bit pricey but if you can stick it out and commit to the process I guarantee you will be SO HAPPY and it will be one of the best investments and decision you will ever make for yourself.

I’ve had a Brazilian sugaring once prior to going to Swanky Sugar about 6 months ago and it was not my favorite experience: just a lot of my area in a lot of her face and I wasn’t ready. And it was so so painful.
Fast forward to my first experience at Swanky Sugar and I had the total opposite. I think I had Rebecca, I forgot, sorry! I’m certain I had the owner. And she was phenomenal. She distracted me with easy conversation. She covered the half of me that wasn’t being sugared. And for me that was awesome because I didn’t feel like I was exposed! She wasn’t all up in my business either, she kept a reasonable distance all while sugaring away! It was painful, but so fast! And she has a technique to ease the pain, she has magic hands I swear. Afterwards there is this product you have the option of using called «healing oil» and it’s uh-​mazing! I had to buy it.
All in all I’m hooked on Swanky Sugar, going back for routine maintenance, which is also much less pain I’m told so yay for that! Thank you for helping a sister out!

I have thin sparse brows, and Rebecca did a great job of cleaning them up and subsequently making what I actually do have POP and look a lot better. Applying eyebrow pencil is much easier now that there’s a clean line.
Bikini sugaring was equally as painful as waxing but with practically NO IRRITATION afterwards!
I’m hooked.

First time here and first time experiencing sugaring… it will not be my last!
