I love the pacific beach location — great service, big portion size and fast. However, this location was horrible. I ordered a fruit plate which is pretty hard to mess up, right? Well I asked for one modification no melon just add more pineapple. I received a total of 5 pineapple slices and a handful of grapes and 4 orange slices. Let’s just say it was very disappointing. Not what I was used to in PB. I will continue to visit the PB location but I will not return to this location. Service was on the very slow side and customer service wasn’t worth the one star.

Came here while visiting some friends in the area. I got the biscuits and gravy with bacon and fruit. It was super good and the orange juice was to die for. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated and our food came in about 15 – 20. The staff was really helpful and friendly. I will come back here on my next trip !

Came here for breakfast with my team! We loved it. Ordered the SBA– Spinach, bacon, asparagus omelette, and it was awesome. Comes with choice of two sides standard for an omelette plate. Their apple juice was particularly good too! Good service and the wait for seating wasn’t bad at all for a party of 11 Will visit again when in the area!

I have been driving past this place for years and finally went in with the girls for breakfast one day. & I must say it was truly a great experience. Amazing customer service! & their poached eggs are to die for! It’s somewhat loud and has a western twist to it. Love love love! I will definitely be back!

Not great, especially for what you pay. And the staff are very inattentive. One of my party ordered something without chili. After a long wait, we got our order and it had chili. The waitress came by later and seemed very unconcerned that the order was wrong. The rest of us had nearly finished our meal before the correct plate came out. Not coming back.

This place is so great! The service was good with lots of smiles and efficient. My family and I had a great time here. I split a half of the California breakfast burrito and half of the French toast with my sibling. Both were absolutely delicious! I also threw in a picture of the tiki toast my mom ordered which is SO delicious! Best part: BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS!(For $ 12.99 or something like that, sorry I forgot the exact price!) I can’t wait to come back here! Everything was so good.

We ate here the other day and had a really disappointing experience. My husband and I had eaten at the Pacific Beach location and enjoyed it, so we decided to try this one with my sister and brother-in-law. Not only were our servers inattentive and kind of rude, but the food was basically on par with an IHOP. My brother-in-law had almost an entire eggshell in his food(picture attached — it’s near the front left of the white plate). We told our server and she just said«oh, sorry» and walked away — no offer to get him a new meal or anything. It was so bizarre. We will not be back.

A friend suggested we meet here for brunch and told me we should get there before 9 am because they can get quite busy on the weekends. Overall my experience was OK. Our server was nice and offered to refill our coffee several times. The food is kind of MEH in my opinion but it is also hard to mess up breakfast food. The prices for breakfast range from about $ 7-$ 14 for pretty much all items. I thought it was a little pricey for being a diner style café.($ 7 for a bowl of oatmeal!!). I did see that they have a breakfast special for $ 6.95 but that is only from 6am — 8am. We ordered the build your own omelette($ 11.35 for one item, $ 12.35 for 2 items, and $ 13.35 for 3 items) and the strawberry waffle($ 9.45). The omelette comes with one side of your choice and toast or English muffin. Broken Yolk reminds me of a more expensive IHOP. Decent food and good service but I don’t see myself rushing back anytime soon.

It’s a great breakfast joint with a solid menu and unique, signature items. The atmosphere is perfect. BUT, it is way too expensive for breakfast! There is no need to charge what they do. Two adults getting coffee & a single item each should not cost $ 31.00. It’s carbs & coffee, people! Honestly, I had a nice meal, but I won’t be back. I got the fiesta burrito & it was fine. Beautiful presentation & looked thick. Sadly, it lacked flavor & I was still starving after I ate it. The coffee was diner shop coffee that could have come from IHOP, but was $ 2.85 pp. bottomless or not, that’s just dumb price gouging. You tried & failed, in my book. I’m not above paying for a good meal, but your food is not worth the markup. Especially since there are so many other affordable options all around.

Thank you Rudy and Nadia. Amazing food and service this time. We will be back but only if Nadia is our server. Outstanding managerial skills Rudy. You didn’t even know our first visit was bad and you were checking on all the tables Thanks so much. Again happy holidays

We went in knowing exactly what we were going to order. After seeing Adam from ‘Man Vs. Food” we had to order ‘The Iron Man Challenge”. It was everything we expected and then some. We almost finished the whole thing between us until we ran into a few undercooked potatoes. We also ordered gravy for the biscuits and that was a smart move I must say. My daughter was dead set on the Nutella/Banana crepes so we had to order some. Between her and my wife they were gone within minutes. I recommend ordering the IMC for a family, the price was perfect for those trying to budget unless its not a issue.

Food is OK, standard diner fare. The breakfast menu is large and I went with a healthy breakfast(for a change). There is a large amount of food, which is much more than I should be eating for breakfast.

Let me start off by saying so far I have been to this location 3 times. The first time was the week they opened and I was extremely disappointed. The servers didn’t knw the menu and didn’t bring hash browns with the omelettes. When they finally did bring them they were raw potatoes. I waited a while to come back again. The next time was okay. There was an extremely long line but I decided to wait. Once we ordered it was a very long wait for our food. The food came out cold and was not enjoyable. I came again last weekend for the third time and had a nice experience. The food and service was great. I got the Golden State Benedit and I have to say it was fantastic. I will be back for the awesome eggs benedict and hope I have great service again.

Judging from the reviews, this place is a hit or miss with people. My dining experience here was pretty good. First and foremost, be warned that this place does get packed. It’s very popular — the chain itself was/is on popular food tv networks and shows, so the amount of people wanting to eat here shouldn’t come as a surprise. If you don’t mind the wait, then I say give it a shot. If you’re impatient, in a hurry, or a moody person then stay away. So their menu is pretty large. I say while you’re waiting, grab a menu and give it a glance over… or two glances. They have some delicious choices! During my last visit, I ordered the Border Benedict: two poached eggs and seasoned carne asada on top of two SWEETCORNCAKES, smothered in their homemade poblano sauce. I ordered it with the beans — it didn’t seem like a lot of food, but that’s probably because it was spread out across the giant plate. I almost couldn’t finish my meal! My fiancée ordered an omelet — I forgot how big they are! There was a lot of cheese, so if that’s your thing then I suggest an omelet. Our waitress was pretty busy attending to other customers, which we were totally fine with. Remember: this place is usually packed. Be patient. Sit back and enjoy your meal and the company of others. Be advised: you can’t call ahead to reserve. First come, first serve.

I started out thinking maybe I’d give 3 stars, thinking it wasn’t terrible, but I can’t say it was«A-OK» given that while nothing was BAD, it wasn’t a good experience either. Right away it was a crowded mess coming into the restaurant, but it was because the people waiting for a table were mixed with people standing in line to pay at the register(at the door). So, even considering we were there at peak time(noon), service was VERY slow. Our server was nice but we were probably ready to order for 15 – 20 minutes before she came by. Then a couple items were missing. Our server wasn’t around and it was hard to get another employee engaged enough to go get her. My turkey wrap tasted fresh but it was extremely bland and fairly small compared to others. The vinaigrette dressing for my salad tasted okay(nothing special) but had an unappealing gummy texture. :( By the time we were ready to leave, the restaurant was a lot less busy but our server didn’t come around again for another 15 – 20 minutes. The lady at the register up front was unpleasant with another lady who was up there paying her bill. I thought maybe this place had growing pains, but a friend said that they’ve been open awhile, and that the Temecula location was the same. Later in the day I was visiting a friend and she mentioned she had gone to the Carmel Mountain Ranch location — so I offered her a coupon from my Entertainment book, knowing I wouldn’t go again. She said thanks but no thanks — she had a similar experience to mine. So it seems to be more how the business is run — not so much the fault of the employees. Sad because there’s a lot of potential there.

Broken Yolk does not float my boat. But I can’t really rate it worse than 3 stars because it delivers just what you would expect. I categorize it along with the Denny’s and CoCo’s of the world except Broken Yolk has vodka!!! Not that I drank any but I was surprised. So I’m not stuck with a mimosa like I am at most breakfast joints. That alone gives it the 3rd star if it didn’t rate one before. Very popular place but they have ample room and ample servers so you don’t wait long for a seat. We were served pretty quick and the food is exactly what you would expect. My son had pancakes and my husband had a chicken club. Both were decent. The fries which came a little late were way to big for me. Frozen crinkly fires are not my fav. But all in all a decent spot with decent service.

First timer, tried this place for the first time last week visiting from the Bay Area. I had an idea how this place would turn out. We have many breakfast spots like this in San Jose. It was about 15 minutes wait, but that’s pretty normal. I ordered the Benedict Border, it was pretty good. It was recommended to me so I thought I’d give it a try. Our waitress always came by to check on us. The meal portions are large, I couldn’t finish it. I didn’t give it a 5 star only because, it wasn’t anything I never tasted before.

Wow, my home frys were burned and I told the waitress that the mine and my wife’s an the neighboring tables hashbrowns were burned. She said those aren’t hash browns they are home frys. Did you need anything else? I was shocked and she walked away. My wife told her again at the end that her hash browns tasted terrible. She said we should have told her sooner.

Finally good Mexican food in San Diego! Came to this place and was truly impressed by their Mexican breakfast. Service was very good and our server even allowed me to control the tv remote. Forgot his name but he was a nice older gentleman and very good service Our chilaquiles were amazing, server also allowed us to do half red and half green salsa. Authentic DFMEXICOCITY chilaquiles style Five starts all around baby!
