I like that this place is big so they have more variety of clothing but they dont keep the store clean the floors are dirty and some sections of the store are so disorganized that it looks as if they have piles of trash. They also dont have fitting rooms so keep that in mind. Always check your receipt before leaving its the 2nd time that they charge me more or dont give the right discount

i have been coming to this thrift shop for over twenty years. whenever i am in the downtown area i always try to drop by. i usually find something, sometimes i find tons of stuff, everything for a very reasonable price. unlike other thrift shops, they always get new stuff in every day. unlike other thrift shops, they have daily specials, like 30% off, or 50% off, or 75% depending on the item and/or the day of the week. more often than not if an item has not been sold for a good while, it will be heavily discounted to make room for new stuff. i always see great deals, especially on furniture! the store is clean and well organized. not 100% of the time over the last twenty years, but a good solid 95% of the time over the last twenty years the management and employees have been very professional and have been very courteous and helpful to me. this is my favorite salvation army of all the ones i have been to(and i have been to all of them, some which closed and don’t even exist), with the chula vista store(have only been shopping there for about five years) a close second, and with point loma a solid third place. great place, great stuff, keep up the good work!

Complete mess, which is acceptable for thrift stores. But the prices??? Overpriced junk is too much.

I love thrifting, I go all the time! I love to did for the deal. I understand that thrift stores are filled with used items… but this store is filled with completely worn out items. The clothes really should be put into the rag pile. Stains, rip, piling, tears, broken zippers… YIKES! OR the prices should be MUCHMUCHLOWER! Good Luck!

Yall trippin! This place is disgusting! Straight up nastay! BUT, if ya dont have the dollars to go out to a comedy club for entertainment, spend a few minutes up in here… those heads are sure to entertain. Go ‘head, form an understanding!

Upon entering the store I started to sing… «Look at this stuff isn’t it neat»… Their collection really is complete. I must have hit them on a good day. My first time at this Salvation Army. I guarantee I will be going back real soon… «They’ve got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty They’ve got whozits and whatzits galore You want thingamabobs? They got twenty»… Everything was on sale, depending on the color of the tag it was anywhere between 30−75% off. I happened to get lucky and mainly found yellow tags which were 75% off. The store is pretty big. Maybe a little messy, but not too bad. Their employees were friendly and helpful. However, some of their shoppers were questionable. A few hobos here and there, two men who reeked of booze and a random guy that came up to me asking for a Xanax! Too bad I was fresh out. Lol. I’m kidding. Pretty sure if it weren’t for all that, they would take the 5 stars!

This Salvation Army Location has a decent selection of clothing to choose from. There was a really cool vintage jean jacket that i wanted to buy, but somebody took it. On a different day i walked in, i found a really nice GAP Shirt for $ 8.99(dropped to $ 4.50 after 50% off yellow tag items). I think that the key ingredient when shopping at a thrift store is to have a list of what your looking for, ask if there are any promotional sales going on(most likely there will be, each day a certain colored tag will be on sale), and also to have lots of spare time. You never know what might catch your eye. Happy Thrifting!

A great place to donate your unwanted items, then go right across the street and spend money in the thrift store.

I’m not much of a thrifter. Going to The Salvation Army was the second thrift store I’ve ever been to. I know a couple people who go to thrift stores and they always make it sound like an adventure during each visit. So I decided to go ahead and check out The Salvation Army. I don’t know what I was expecting but I didn’t quite find any clothing I liked. I guess it really depends on the time and place. Looking at clothes wasn’t going so great so I moved on to their furniture section. I found this AWESOME portrait of a tennis player. I play tennis and this was WOW. I didn’t like it at first, but man I’m loving it now. It reminds me of an Andy Warhol piece. It now sits on my wall above my dresser. OH, I should add that it was ONLY $ 5! There were some dirty spots on it. I tried washing that off by using a cloth to rub laundry detergent on it, but it was no use. It’s not even that obvious. I’m a little sad cause I did accidentally rip a part of it, but it’s nothing tape can’t help fix. It was actually quite big inside. In addition to clothing, there are furniture(i.e. pianos, couches) that are in pretty decent condition, portraits, books, etc. If I find something as good as I did this visit, then I shall continue to visit other thrift stores.

I am a thrift store expert. I frequent the ones in CV, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, North Park, Downtown, PB and Poway like it’s my job. This Salvation Army is one of my favorites. It’s big. There’s a dressing room. They have a boutique for the«nicer» stuff. They always have lots of furniture. Best of all, every Wednesday all of their clothes are 50% off! Sometimes they have a sale where you can fill a plastic bag with all the clothes you can stuff for $ 20. Other times the entire store is half off.
