The most disgusting gas station I’ve ever been to the outhouse had flies in and I can’t even believe I have an out has never been to a gas station with an outhouse and poop filling up the whole toilet, ‚…Disgusting disgusting person dirty dirty Birdie that owns this place! He obviously cares nothing about customers it’s all about making us money on the gas and who knows where that food and all that comes from I will be afraid to order or to buy anything from here as it if the restroom is any sign of how he runs his business. GROSS!!! Do not stop here go to the next exit it is a disgusting place!!! That outhouse had flies everywhere no place to wash your hands and no soap in the sink… he probably hasn’t paid the house house bill cause he’s too busy paying for that Mercedes payment he parks next-​door to his place. Disgusting businessman!

The problem that I mentioned before (of gas not dispensing and charging my card anyway) seems to be fixed. Thank you for your attention and for following through with the fix.

If I give a bad review… believe me it MUST be bad! A bit tired after work but needed some gas pulled out the credit card swiped once asked for zip code… ummm did not go thru swipe again and once again so tired… see cashier. Walked into store where the girl behind the glass is Fighting with a customer…(can I just get some gas is in my brain !) after listening to them go back and forth whew ’ it is my turn! Yippee. «40 on 8 please» response… I need a break… hmmm. Rolls her eyes takes my card ! Feeling like I won the gas lottery… I go to fill up… what? I am being charged is a different amount than what is on the board… but at this point no longer care ! Gassed up and go! Less than 24 hours when checking my Amex I am charged with not one 40.00 charge but an additional 95.00-let it be know I do not drive an 18 wheeler… gotta call AMEX !

Rip off — they advertised one price and when you started pumping the had another — cashier simply said called the customer service number!

$ 3.81 diesel. Nothing all that special about this place, I mean it is a gas station after all. However best diesel fuel prices in San Diego, at time of this writing I’m getting diesel here for $ 3.81/gallon. Anything under $ 4 seems like a good deal and I drove past a place not too far away that gets $ 4.41 a gallon. That’s worth the trip all by itself. Depending on which direction you’re coming from it can be a little tricky making the turn in, but it’s a snap if you’re traveling on 805 south… exit university and turn right and it’s immediately on your right. Don’t go here for diesel please, the increased demand will likely drive the price up

There is a car wash but I have not used it. I like going here because they have the lowest gas prices and I never have trouble using my debit cars like I do at arco. There are a lot of pumps so it moves quickly. Fast service if u use your card.

With regard to two other reviews.
I should point out that there is no car wash.
Also, I have been a customer for six years and I have never been asked for an ID when I use a credit card — although most often I run it through as a debit card.
I wonder if this United Oil at 3252 University Ave is being confused with the same or similar name at another location. Just a thought.

I actually had given this establishment 3 stars earlier because I thought the prices were good and most of the people working there were reasonably nice considering the heavy flow of customers. I’d like to change that to 2 stars due to a recent experience.
I have been a loyal customer for years. It came as a surprise to me that the code for the car wash was rejected recently. The car wash was not available. It used to be open day and night but not anymore – fair enough… When I went again, the code was rejected because «I had already used it…» When I complained to the clerk, she said that only the manager could do something about it – to come back the next day.
For those counting, that’s 3+ trips for a car wash. The manager proceeded to question my story. According to his records, I had already used the code! He verified various things for the next 15 – 20 minutes before giving me a refund. And that was a favor! Yeah, I really lie to get a free car wash (not)! And yes, I have a lot of time on my hands to go back and forth whether it’s for washing my car or waiting for a shift to end in order to buy cigarettes. After all, the customer is wrong and can wait.
Also, having to show I.D. again and again is irritating (some of the clerks know me by name)! I guess that this is still a good place to get gas and cigarettes. However, customer service leaves a lot to desire. I would say that 2 stars is generous…

Wow, the training or lack of training or a cashier with an IQ or 50 is what I encounter every time I visit this gas station. They will not take your credit card with out an ID, which violates VISA and Mastercard merchant agreements. They refuse to except VISA gift cards (also violates the Visa Merchant agreement).
