My favorite sushi spot! We started coming here for the all you can eat sushi($ 30) we come back t I me and time again because of the atmosphere and service! There’s isn’t a roll or item on the menu that I haven’t liked. Between my husband, kids and sister, we’ve tried just about everything on the menu! The owners are sweet and personable. The waitresses are kind ans attentive. I truly enjoy wa.

This place has awesome service and delicious fresh sushi. Called in for a last minute reservation on my birthday for a party of 10 since the place I originally made a reservation for(Shogun) had horrible customer experience, and they welcomed us in right away and had a table set for us in less than 10 minutes. Thanks for the great service!

Came in last Friday with my coworker. It wasn’t busy at 11:45 am but there was only 1 waitress. I ordered the bulgogi bento box. It came with miso soup, salad, 4 pieces of cali roll, mixed tempura(at least 1 shrimp) rice and bulgogi. The portion was generous but sadly, the food was not that great. The salad had shredded cabbage, which I’m not used to eating with spring mix. The dressing was light and refreshing. The bulgogi was kinda mushy. It was tasty but the consistency threw me off. I didn’t like it at all. It reminded me of tofu. Wasn’t it supposed to be meat? I did like the tempura though. That made up for the salad and bulgogi. The cali rolls weren’t anything special. You can’t really mess up cali rolls. We also ordered veggie spring rolls. These were gross. Tasted like they were previously frozen and the veggies inside were also mushy. Don’t order them. Since there was 1 person working waitressing, service was a bit slow. I had to get my own to go box. Not sure if I would return. They do have 50% off rolls if you dine in and 40% off when you order to go. Perhaps I’ll try ordering rolls instead next time.

Food was okay but servings are small and pricey! We ordered lunch box type meals and an appetizer and just drank water. For two people our bill with tax was over $ 30.00. DEFINATELY not worth the price. The restaurant is clean and simple in style but way over priced and we left still feeling hungry!

Wa Sushi is in the same shopping center where I go to Zumba. The sashimi here is pretty good. I’m a big fan of their Salmon Sashimi, Sea Urchin Uni, and Salmon Ribs. 4 stars based on these 3 specific items.

I am not a hard core sushi fan but my boyfriend is, and he said hands down best sushi ever. We sat at the bar. It was a bit noisy but it was great to watch them make the rolls. One of the chefs(I don’t know what the proper term is) took the time to show us different qualities of salmon I suppose it is telling that most of their clientele were Japanese speaking businessmen. We will definitely be regulars!

Very homey feeling. The food is great! The place is clean and above all the price is really reasonable! 50% of the sushi is worth the drive to clairemont!

This place is close to work and I always order a house salad and ceviche roll. The salad has a delicious light sweet ginger dressing and AVOCADO, not bad for $ 2.50. The ceviche roll has a yummy pico de gallo on top of it. The pokie roll is delicious too. It’s 50% off for lunch, so the salad & roll is $ 10.80 total. The pokie salad is not cheap, but delicious over seaweed! I’ve also tried their salmon bento and have no complaints.

Best sushi ive ever had in my entire life. No lie. The lady chef knows us by name and knows exactly what we want everytime. I think her name is Susan. I could never live without this place. Aloha and cheviche rolls are like an orgasum in your mouth. I like to put gyoza sauce on top of my aloha roll. Hands down best sushi. Never leave me Wa. We come here at least once every week sometimes more. We bring our whole family.

They have a AYCE. We had a big party so called a bit before dinner and they told us to come right in. Their AYCE was pretty standard but the service was really poor. At one point, there was no one working the front for a good 15 minutes. The waitress could not speak very good English — told us we could split our checks by person, but could not share our AYCE with each other if we did that –_-” Probably would not come back here for the sushi.

I found it to be a very nice place. Not a high end high class place making this place more my style. The sushi was very good and the chef was super polite and friendly. Even offered to give us some free ice cream. :)

Wa Sushi is solid sushi. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars because 3 just doesn’t seem enough. I used to live down the street from PB Sushi, which has the EXACT same menu… sister restaurant? It’s a slightly different vibe than PB sushi, but nice to have the same quality and menu items with less of the Monday night sake-bomb crowd. Wa even has my favorites — the PB roll and the Sunset roll. The PB roll has shrimp tempura inside with hamachi on the outside. The Sunset roll is spicy tuna inside with hamachi on the outside with a ponzu sauce and fresh jalapenos on top. Wa’s handrolls are really good — my favorite is the spicy scallop. If you’re into baked rolls(I have to be in the right mood for them) then this place is great for you! They have so many options of baked rolls. I also like the jalapeño bomb that are jalapeño halves stuffed with krab, spicy mayo, and is tempura fried. Their starters are also worth having — i like the agedashi tofu and seaweed salad. Overall, Wa Sushi is a good sushi meal. It’s worth going to when you’re in the area and have a sushi craving.

I tried this place for the first time on 2÷17÷15& loved it. It was so good that I went back 3 days later. I was seated in front of the sushi counter which was probably a huge mistake. The girl making the sushi was making rolls & also eating a peeled mango at the same time. She wore gloves while making the sushi… but also had those same gloves on as she held the mango that she was eating and sucking on… and then would go back to rolling the sushi with those same gloves on. I got up and left the restaurant. That is very unsanitary and no employee should be allowed to in while they are preparing food. I was extremely disappointed because I had my mouth set on my fire fire roll that I ordered. There is a possibility that I’d go back as long as I can sit up front and make sure the person making the rolls isn’t getting there saliva allover their hands while preparing my food.

Everything taste the same. Rolls are to fat, full of rice. Waitress was ok Quality of the food is something big for me. I would do 2 stars but because the service was decent I give 3. For lunch AYCE is same as dinner $ 25.

25 $ for AYCE $ 3 extra charge for each order of uni $ 1 charge for halibut. Fatty pieces of salmon. Fish to rice ratio was good. Charges $ 1 for each piece left over. Wa Sushi is good but RB Sushi is better(more options and includes at least one order of uni for same price; fish quality is comparable)

We have always had a good experience here, so I’m puzzled by the bad reviews. The sashimi is always fresh and thick-cut; the chefs are very swee(woman sushi chef!); and the service is always good and friendly. I like to focus on the protein(the raw fish), so my only complaint is that most of the rolls have fried stuff(like Tempura) in them. I’d like to see more sushi with just the raw fish. The rolls are a little pricey, but you get a huge portion. The sauces over the rolls are delicious! It’s nice to have a reliably-good sushi place close to us, with good, fresh food and friendly service!

We went here after picking up my brother from the airport. It was late, we were hungry and we felt semi-adventurous. Okay, our patience was low so we chose the first thing we saw. With 50% off sushi and sashimi plastered all over the walls, when we got the sushi menu none of the prices were adjusted to see how much the price really was. :(We just picked a few rolls and a bento box. Service was good but not spectacular but there were only two people there, the waitstaff and the sushi chef which was a woman! Now that was a first and very cool. but that was about the only thing impressive about this place. The rolls weren’t that great or tasty. Most of the time it fell apart before getting to our mouths and I was scooping up my sushi piece. What I didn’t tell my friend or she would’ve freaked out was that I saw a bug crawling on the floor. ew.

This place is one of my go too places for a sushi bento or sushi rolls for lunch. Each time that I come here during the week the place is busy.and.seating can be limited. The restaurant is relativley small. Despite the restaurant being small size of the place has food that packs a punch. And they offer 50% OFF. Prices are reasonable. Portions in the bentos are good. The sushi rolls are tasty. I like the baked sushi. Also the spicy tuna roll. A friend had the protein roll and said that it was pretty good. I really like the spicy bomb roll which is a roll in jalepeno. The menu is not available online, however when you call and ask the restaurant to fax a menu they will tell you to go to the visit the website to view the menu online.
