Nice Call Unilocal!!! I receive emails from you folks with recommendations, but never thought I would see one for a place in my quiet little town. I had the Chiliqueles, as directed… very tasty/muy sabroso. Not too spicy of chile, just very flavorful. Unlike some other local places, Nayarit does not kill the dish with too much cheese. They lose one star for their run of the mill beans and rice… but I would definitely go back, and would also take people there.

I’ve lived across the street from this place for 7years now, so it’s very convenient for me. Whenever my mom doesn’t cook yet I don’t want to eat out because I’m craving a home cooked meal this is where I go . The food here is delicious my favorites are the«tacos dorados» or the«pork ribs with salsa«on Saturdays stop by here for the pozole. *you’re welcome . Also there coffee is AMAZING so is ther horchata. Ask for Doris the sweet lady that will kindly serve you.

Went to eat with my boyfriend this past Monday I ordered caldo de res, I wasn’t quite fascinated with the place the lady who had helped us said they had run out of vegetables so she only gave me carrots in the soup. As I was eating I noticed the way she would clean the tables, she uses the broom to wipe of all the crumbs from the tables and seats and uses the same rag to clean everything ! Gross. Than I decided to stop eating the soup as it didn’t have enough flavor and it tasted as if it had been done from days ago /: Im never coming back to this place …

This place serves traditional mexican food. The food was excellent from the homemade tortillas, to the rice it was perfect. The service was great, It felt like we were eating at a family members home. El Nayarit is definitely the place to go for the best traditional mexican food in the San Fernando/Sylmar area. It is a cash only restaurant but well worth the drive to the ATM. Try it you’ll like love it!

Pretty good. Ordered the sopes and the sopes was fluffy crunchy and filling. Also they had machaca. I never ran into it so it was a pleasant surprise. The only issue is I thought it was a tad too salty. Don’t know if it’s always like that or just showed up at the wrong time.

Don’t go there, twice I got hair in my food and the woman working there cleans the seats and the tables with the same cloth even when dirty people seats to eat. I will never go there.

Great Mexican food, especially the chorizo with scrambled eggs. Consistently good service, comfy ambiance! The best part is, sometimes you’ll get a random pair who come in with musical instrument, ready to serenade you over breakfast! They accept tips, which they rightfully earn!

El Nayarit is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the San Fernando Valley. It has great service and delicious traditional Mexican food. The restaurant itself is very small and could have long waits around lunch time during the weekends, but it is definitely worth the wait! My favorite dish is their chilaquiles. You get a large serving of chilaquiles with refried beans and rice. They also have the best tomatillo salsa I’ve had at a restaurant, it’s very spicy! Their menu is small, but holds most traditional Mexican foods. Check it out if you are in the valley!

They don’t have chips so don’t ask for them but their handmade tortillas make up for that. The place is tiny and seating arrangement is a little unorganized because It’s a seat yourself type of deal and some singles like to seat themselves at these huge booths. Their food is pretty authentic, Try the menudo or chorizo con huevos for breakfast.

I have been coming to eat here for years, It’s delicious authentic Mexican food. My favorite is the Huevos Rancheros. Over easy eggs with red salsa rice, beans and homemade tortillas. All the food is freshly made. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food in a friendly atmosphere then look no further and come to El Nayarit. *cash only*

Really good Mexican food. The whole place and feel of the restaurant is very authentic, actually I felt like I was at a friend’s home and their mom was serving me. The lady who was our waitress was really, really sweet and I loved her. Limited menu, they only serve a few things but that’s quite alright. They play the music I think from the jukebox which is awesome! My brother got their carne asada tacos with rice and beans. I got their cheese enchiladas and those suckers are CHEESY!!! They too came with rice and beans. Their rice is really good, I’m really picky when it comes to Spanish rice and theirs is delicioso:] My brother and I will be stopping in again in the very near future !!! Oh they’re cash only too!
