I was walking down Maclay after visiting Galleria Gitana and wandered upon this place. The smell of ice cream cone enticed me to go inside. Once there the owner encouraged us to try all the flavors we wanted… and I guess we tried most of them. Great ice cream, unusual flavors, all made in house. Best ice cream we’ve had in Los Angeles. They even have vegan flavors, if you’re into that sort of thing. We’ll definitely be back.

Wow! What a great little place! The customer service was phenomenal and we almost sampled every flavor upon Marthin’s suggestion(we’re glad he made that great suggestion). I love coffee ice cream and theirs is probably the best I’ve ever had. They have so many flavors like coconut, pistacho, strawberry and other wild ones like horchata, pineapple chile and tamarind. All of them were tasty! They were very friendly and the place is an old fashioned set up. Definitely will be back! Skip Baskin Robbins! This place is waaay better in customer service, prices and flavors!!!

I’ve decided, this is going to be one of my favorite new spots for ice cream, especially when I have a craving for a flavor inspired by fruits/beverages from Latino roots. I found out about this place through Instagram and instantly had to check it out for myself. On arrival, I made sure to have a few different samples as I was literally acting like a kid in a candy store, wanting this and that. I had to try the spicy pineapple and mango, the horchata, lucuma, nuez, and so forth — and I ended up with a scoop of lucuma and horchata in a waffle cone. I know lucuma very well as I’ve had it in Peru and tasted the varieties of ice cream throughout the Peruvian restaurants here in Los Angeles. It tastes exactly the same, so in other words: LEGIT on flavor. I could not thank them enough for that. The horchata was perfect with its creamy texture and spicy flakes of cinnamon. Tasted just like horchata should. So delicious! The two married well and it’s a perfect representation of some of my favorite foods. I’ll definitely be returning for another double scoop!

Definitely a must! Nothing like your big chain franchise. Family owned and ran, great… And I mean GREAT selection! They make their own ice cream, flavored I’ve never even knew existed! Definitely a place who has earned my future business!

This place is awesome! After a long motorcycle ride it was a great way to end the day. I had coffee in a cone, but it was a hard decision between all the flavors because they are all great. Martin gave us as many samples as we asked for and is so friendly. His family makes it all and they take pride in what they do. I would recommend them to anyone.

Last night I was craving ice cream, so I asked my girlfriends father where basket a robins was. He told us that there was another place pretty new with better Ice cream. How right he was. Not only was the Ice cream good, there was a whole section for people who are lactose intolerant, with unique natural flavors you cannot find anywhere else.(like that stopped me from trying all the flavors tho!!!) If you are looking for out of this world, lip-smacking eye-widening flavors, that will make you fall in love with Ice cream again… I suggest you come here and support the family that is creating them. It will make you feel like you are truly tasting Ice cream for the first time! Love you Helados and we will be back for more! Nick Ps. Get a Waffle cone if you want to taste heaven!!!

This is by far my favorite ice cream spot. The guy behind the register is amazing, he is so friendly and very helpful. You have to try the mangoneada, pepino con chile y pineapple con chile. Too delicious!

I drove up to San Fernando because of tip I received of some wonderful ice cream coming from this shop in San Fernando. Open for around 6 months, I can tell that this place hasn’t caught on with the neighborhood or community. They are getting a flow of customers from being featured on a local television news show. I was able to take my time tasting their ice creams ranging from vanilla and strawberry to the more exotic mamey and lúcuma ice creams. The texture was creamy with some bits of fruit left over with each bite. The ice cream was creamy and not too sweet. I did taste some icy patches in their ice cream, which I seem to find in more ice cream tastings I’ve done around town. Compared to La Reyna de Michoacan in Reseda, I preferred the Latin-inspired ice cream at Helados Pops. They also have a section of sorbets similar to the refreshing taste and texture of Italian ice or raspados.

Last week my cousin brought me into this hidden treasure. I had the pineapple & chile topped with chamoy, tajin… And you can’t forget the little chile stick. Omg talk about delicious! Absolutely loved it, I will definitely becoming back. My daughter had the all natural strawberry ice cream, which I happened to try as well and mmhm it is kid and mother approved-not too sweet but not bland either. It is a little pricy but hey YOUGETWHATYOUPAYFOR. Two young ladies helped me out, it was a little late so I’m guessing they just wanted to close up and get home-which might of been the reason why one of them was a tad rude however, she did still offer me samples and answer my questions. The other was very sweet and helped make my experience much more pleasant. Like I said, i will definitely be returning and I would recommend you stop by as well!

Well, I was missing a lot my home made Salvadoran ice cream, 100% recommended if you want to try something good, give it a try. Damon and Evany make this place very special, they can recommend you different tropical flavors that will transport you to Central America.

We have never been here before today but had it bookmarked on Unilocal for a month or so. We walked in and the guy was so nice and helpful in making our first visit a great experience! He explained what each flavor was and offered samples. We got: Mango con chili topped with chamoy & tajin Mint chocolate chip Chamarindo & pineapple con chili topped with chamoy & tajin Chamarindo & lime topped with chamoy & tajin. The flavors were so good! I definitely recommend this spot to any locals looking for some delicious homemade ice cream. PS– they have water and dairy base ice cream available

I was in the area for some fall festivities at Forneris Farms, and decided to get something refreshing and cool afterwards. This place offers unique and delicious flavors, which you can try before you decide on a flavor. They have sorbet type flavors as well as dairy-based. I was debating between Horchata and Arrayan, and finally decided on Arrayan. I was not disappointed. The flavor was light and refreshing. Great service and really cool flavors. I believe they make all their ice cream in the back.
