I drive over an hour to get here because it’s truly the best place to get your freshly prepared masa to make your tamales. Good customer service.

I love this little original mom&pop shop! I buy masa for homemade sopes, tortillas, tamales etc.,. The lines for fresh masa during the holidays is maddening but well worth the early rise and wait!

I’ve been going here ever since I was a little girl! Los tacos De carnitas are to die for! They still taste the same as they did when I was a baby child! The same people are still there as well. Can’t beat a taco with a coke bottle to drink. Ugh I’m craving some now!

I bought 2 dozen tamales for Christmas, 2013. I bought a dozen beef, 6 pork and 6 sweet tamales. These tamales were $ 22.00 per dozen and were the worse tamales I have ever had in my life! The sweet tamales had about 3 raisins in each had no flavor and absolutely no sweetness to them at all. The tamales are dry and have no flavor. I will be sure not to buy any tamales from La Corona Tortilleria ever again.

What the heck? No reviews yet? This place is a gem, seriously, if you blink, you’ll miss this little place of heaven. Don’t be scurred by the location, inside you’ll find perfectly fried carnitas and chicharron. So succulent and salty… mmm. Try their carnitas tacos, made fresh with homemade tortillas. They’re huge and I can only finish half of one, but that makes for taking home even better. They also sell Masa for tamales and my hubby says this is the go to place for the best masa. They make fresh pico de gallo salsa and their green salsa is my favorite. We were just here this past weekend and noticed that they now have a breakfast menu and serve other things like chile relleno, hmm, I’ll have to try that next time!
