Staff was friendly and office was clean. Dr. Jou was gentle and really caring. I really hate needles but I barely felt it going in with him! The office manager explained everything that needed to be done for me, she was thorough and made me comfortable; even when it came to cost. Highly recommend San Fernando Dental Care.

God forbid you get sick and have to miss an appointment with San Fernando Dental Care. I had surgery a little less than a month ago and I’m still recovering, so I missed a dental cleaning of mine. $ 25 dollars missed appt fee. So a few weeks after my original missed appointment my daughter had an appointment that my husband was supposed to take her to but ended up having to work late and wouldn’t be able to make it on time, long story short I was still recovering from surgery and started feeling real bad that morning and totally forgot that my husband wasn’t going to take her. One of the receptionists calls me ten mins after the scheduled appt asking if we were still coming in… I jump up and tell her that I was so sorry I’ll be there in 10 mins if it was okay and she said yes it was fine. Two minutes later she calls me back and tells me that I owe them $ 25 for my previous missed appointment. I told her that I would pay that once I go in for MY next appointment, not at my daughters… she then told me that I’m not scheduled to come in yet so I told her that I’m sick, I just had surgery so I’ll call and schedule an appointment when I’m feeling better and pay my late fee when I go in for MY appointment. She put me on hold, I assume to speak with her office manager, comes back on the line and tells me that I can’t bring in my daughter unless I pay the $ 25 on my account. And that now I owe them $ 50 for the two missed appointments. What a bunch of bull. They also push services on you that your insurance does not cover, when you tell them that your only looking for the basic they make stupid faces. They will call you from different phone numbers harassing you to schedule appointments that your not ready to schedule. The office is beautiful, the dentist and the dental assistants are great but the office manager and receptionists are not too great. There is only one receptionist and I forgot her name, she has black hair with highlights and sometimes wears a back brace and you’ll know your talking to her because she’s the only friendly receptionist who will actually smile at you. I’m canceling all my appointments with San Fernando Dental Care, requesting my families X-rays and going to pay them they’re stupid $ 50 dollars in late fees and I’m going to find another dental office that has better ratings. Do not choose San Fernando Dental Care unless you want to be hounded by phone calls, charged for missed appointments and pushed services you don’t want.

Don’t have an opinion about your treatment plan! My husband rescheduled an appointment because he wasn’t feeling well. When he showed up to the rescheduled appt he explained he didn’t want his tooth crowned because it seemed unnecessary to crown a tooth to protect an old filling. He did however agree to continue with periodontal work. They were very annoyed that he didn’t submit to their ploy to get an unnecessary crown! The office manager billed my husband $ 25 per every ½ hour of estimated work for that visit because he wasn’t fitted for a crown plus another $ 75 for the initial appointment he had rescheduled when he was sick. The office policy states they have a $ 25.00 broken appointment fee not $ 25 per every ½ hr of estimated work. I ended up getting billed for $ 175 and ended up sending their office $ 25 a month to avoid any collections activity. Honestly they didn’t have to be that money hungry they could’ve just charged us one $ 75 fee instead of the two. They could’ve kept us as patients and made more $$ in the long run since both my husband and I have PPO Dental Plans plus 3 kids who need years of dental services plus braces! …Their loss!
