8x10 Models

Absolutely unprofessional! It is hard to say anything else. It took them 2 months to respond to our email. After they responded, they said they are to busy to sign new models. Really?

Whitney signed our son and we did book a job within the first 3 months, which was exciting. After his shoot, Whitney said that payment should happen within «30 days — but could take as much as 90 days, tops». No worries there as we didn’t know how the process worked. … however, I will make a long story short: It took nearly 8 months to receive his check and that was after many calls and emails to Whitney directly (most of which went unanswered for days/​weeks at a time). At one point, she even emailed us saying «I mailed the check on Friday» … however that was 2.5 months before it arrived. Complete joke.
During the first 3 months I also referred several friends/​family members — most of which experienced the same thing and one even had to threaten legal action to finally recieve their payment.
In short — there are many reputable modeling agencies in San Francisco — go elsewhere.

I absolutely adore Whitney and the 8×10 team! The customer service is always great because Whitney and her staff make an excellent effort to be personable, professional, and accommodating. My kids have been represented by 8×10 Models for the last year and we have had many bookings with great reputable companies. I also love how 8×10 is a boutique agency, so I know there is no competition within the agency and this allows us to have more opportunities. If you are looking for a SF agency, then 8×10 Models is best!!!

I researched this agency before my Granddaughter was signed and could not find anything negative, HOWEVER, buyer BEWARE!!! The agency took 6 months to pay for a photo shoot and the only reason the check came at all was because we had to contact the BBB, Michael Finney On Your Side-​ABC affiliate in SF, the Labor Commission and CEO of the company that the photo shoot was for. Our findings found that the agency had actually promptly been paid within a month of the photo shoot by the client, yet held the money for whatever reasons. The CEO/​Owner of 8×10 continually advised us for six months she had not yet been paid. Do NOT be fooled by the statements on the website where she promises to «help guide and mentor». Believe me, she never ONCE called on a personal level to even say «Hi» or «GoodBye». She demonstrated no interest or guidance whatsoever and she was extremely difficult to communicate with by phone or email. Surely she thought we would just go away! I’m so thankful for my 40 years of handling consumer complaints through a major bank. It gave me the experience and knowledge on how to deal with collecting the $$ due to my Granddaughter, who to contact, and which buttons to push to get fast results! I regret I let this go on for 6 months, but we «trusted» this lady. I’ve learned a valuable lesson:“If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!”

I was super excited when I read all the good reviews of this place, So I filled out their online form and they said they would get in touch within 5 – 7 business days… It’s been almost a month and haven’t heard a word. I was going to message them on Unilocal but it said this business hasn’t been checking there messages. What a bummer

I first started working with 8×10 models while working at a local toy company, and I can honestly say that I had the best experience when hiring models for our video shoot. Whitney, the owner of 8×10, was super professional, provided great customer service, and responded quickly to my numerous requests. Now that I am a mother with my first child, I knew that I wanted 8×10 to represent my son. I like that the agency is boutique and unlike the larger agencies I feel like he won’t get lost in the crowd. Looking forward to working more with 8×10!

Since he was little my 6 year old has loved the spot light. I was confident he could do it and started out with a different agency. The 1^st agency was so big, I felt that my son was overlooked. 8×10 has provided us with so many opportunities in the last year that we have been with them Whitney, the owner. CEO, agent and coach is so timely, professional and friendly. My son and I are totally TEAM Whitney!!! We enjoy working with 8×10. She has booked my son with Collective Health, Gymboree, Republic Bank, AMEX, Leapfrog and more! And she is always providing us with new opportunities. To me being a working model comes in 4 parts — 1. You have to have a great look, 2. You have to have great representation, 3. You have to kill the audition 4. You have to have a great agent for the follow up details… right now we have it all!!! Thank you Whitney!

My daughter and son are both signed with 8×10 Models and we couldn’t be happier! They have booked jobs with Apple, Fabkids, etc. and Whitney keeps them both very busy with go sees and casting calls :-)
Whitney is an expert in the business and genuinely loves the kids. I read an earlier post complaining about the cost of photos…$ 150 for professional photos, done by top notch children’s photographers is a GREAT deal! If you wanted your child to play soccer, you’d understand that they’d need equipment, right? With Modeling you need good quality, up to date photos. Good photos = great bookings = lots of work for both my kiddos :-) and professional photos aren’t mandatory, they’re just beneficial.
There are SO many fake agencies out there, it’s great to have found a reliable, honest agent who knows what she’s doing!

Whitney was very professional and enthusiastic when my daughter was a client of hers. I have faith in her and the success of her business. I highly recommend 8×10 Models!
