We found this small laundromat and regularly went there for the two years I lived nearby. It was cheaper than the others, which is important if you’re going every week. After two years of coming here out of habit, I’m happy to be moving on. The place is tiny and there’s rarely more than one or two other folks doing laundry. But occasionally there are folks there not doing laundry, doing drugs or other sketchy things. As for the laundry side of things, plan to take your stuff home to hang dry. Most of the driers are broken, and have been forever. At least now a few of them are labeled as broken(and have been for weeks with no hint when they’ll be fixed). Even«working» ones have a tendency to eat your quarters and then just lightly toss your clothes around for the allotted time, leaving them moist. But I seem to remember it being more reasonable two years ago, so maybe it’s just a dark time right now. There’s a quarter machine(sometimes broken), soap dispenser, and I rarely have trouble with the washers. It’s not super dirty, but not particularly clean either. There are security cameras, and it has good hours.

You’ll generally have no problem getting a washing machine, despite the small size of this establishment. Walking out of here with dry clothes is something you won’t always do. The dryers have a tendency to «abandon ship» in the middle of the program, resulting in the timer continuing to run while no drying of clothes actually goes on. Sometimes one customer will split the drying of his/her laundry up among all of the working dryers, leaving you hovering like a hawk, talons full of wet clothes, until one is freed up. Sometimes a homeless person will decide that the spot under the metal table for folding laundry is a bed, and proceed to take a nap there. I go here because it’s close and cheap.

This place used to be really nice. But they don’t maintain their equipment all too well. I often end up with a drier that doesn’t quite heat up OR a washer that leaves rust stains on my whites. The owner answers his phone but doesn’t resolve anything. I gave up. The only reason I go anymore is because it’s right across the street. I pay for convenience and absolutely nothing else. Good luck with this place.

I conquer laundry mountain at Clean Slate on a regular basis, not by choice. Usually this laundromat isn’t very busy at least whenever I’ve been there — which is a good thing because it is quite small. It is cleanish, has large capacity machines, as well as single load machines. Large dryers. Change machine onsite. No sink. No attendant on duty. The tile floor is incredibly slippery when wet, so watch out.

The best laundry in the Mission, bar none. Probably that’s because it must be the newest. It’s much cleaner than the rest of them. Minus a star for not having a sink or bathroom. Once you go here, you just can’t go back to the filthy other ones with dryers gunked up with god know what, TVs blaring en Espanol, and toddlers toddling around clutching bags of Doritos.

great new neighborhood laundry! — clean! still has that shiny new laundromat smell! — new machines without years of other people’s forgotten paper, candy and pens caked inside! — affordable– seems to be going rate for the local ‘mats. — lint trays you can actually open and empty before you dry! how enlightened, huh? i always wondered why someone worried about stolen lint– but apparently that’s a thing of the past. cons: — coin machine was broke recently, leaving me scrounging the my bag and pockets for quarters enough to finish drying. if it happens again, they lose a star! — mostly big multiload machines, which encourages my honey to put everything in one washer. definitely NOT a good thing(but not exactly the laundry’s fault).
