A & K Jewelry

I’m a crafter and I come for gemstones. They get 5 stars for having raw, genuine, gemstone beads in my local area. There’s a lot of stuff in here but it’s pretty organized and finding gems ;P isn’t too hard. The owner? lady is also really helpful.

This store has some more unusual and a nicer selection of jade bracelets with pretty color variations. Not the same boring bracelets you see in other stores. I have bought several necklaces, earrings and bracelets over the years and I have always gotten a very fair price. The quality is good and the people are nice. You really can’t go wrong here.

The only reason why this is getting 4 and not 5 stars is because of the location. I personally dislike Chinatown and it’s pretty far from where I live but based off on referrals from friends, I decided to venture out here and see what A&K had to offer.
Now, generally speaking, I’m the type of person who often buys into whatever is being sold due to guilt so I especially dislike employers who don’t give customers their space. However, this is not the case here. Christina greeted me as I entered and asked the general questions but then left me alone so that I could look in peace. I ended up leaving with a pair of earrings that I’ve been wearing until this day and I have no complaints. Their service is impeccable and their advice, when asked, is greatly valued and appreciated.

Working in Chinatown I usually never go out for lunch breaks, but I’m so glad I did. i decided to take a nice stroll because it was hot outside (FOR ONCE), and I stumbled upon this hidden gem to look for a gift for my mom.
The customer service completely took me by surprise, in a good way. :) I was pleasantly greeted at the door by Andy which made me feel very welcomed and comfortable already. And I kid you not, Christina quickly came to my rescue (LITERALLY) and helped me pick a beautiful bracelet for my hard-​to-​please mom. Her honesty was extremely refreshing — she didn’t pressure me to buy anything like other jewelry shops I have been to, and she was very patient with me as I jumped back and forth between the bracelets I wanted. To top it all off, the bracelet didn’t fit my mom’s wrist but I was able to come back and have Christina change the size happily for me. Thank goodness! :)
On a gross but enlightening side note, I am usually allergic to low-​quality earrings and get ear infections. I bought a pair of earrings for myself from A&K and surprisingly my ear infection gradually went away and I’ve been wearing them ever since!
All I have to say is that I’m sad that I didn’t find this jewelry store sooner. It’s literally a block away from where I work yet it took me 2 years to discover! I highly recommend this place and I’m glad I was able to support a local, family owned business. :D

A & K Jewelry is fantastic! They have such great service! I was debating on what to get my sister for her graduation gift when I came across a beautiful jade bangle that Christina brought to my attention. Not only was she pleasant, but she also offers some great fashion advice! I will definitely be going back!

Amazing place!!! Christina Wong was supper sweet! If you need any jewelry she is very helpful and will adjust anything to any size you need! Highly recommend!!!

The people working there are really friendly. When you walk into the store, they greet you and it’s not like the type of greetings you interpret as them trying to lure you into purchasing their items. I feel that they genuinely are nice people. I asked for a couple of gifts that I wanted to purchase for my friends, and luckily, they didn’t show me expensive ones. The prices are pretty reasonable, and I walked out with a couple of items with less than $ 20. I will be bringing my friends back to visit.

On Grant street? Get the feeling that someone is watching you? It may be that woman standing a foot from you breathing heavily on your neck while telling you about every sale in the store. And really, there is no need because someone put their Epson to the test and printed SALE! on every item in sight.
At A & K, you will not have strands of cultured pearls shoved into your face. It is not that kind of store. Yes, they will greet you as you walk in and ask you if you are looking for anything in particular, but then they will leave you alone to peruse the slightly dusty earring racks for your little something special.
A & K is my kind of a place because I lose earrings faster than socks. I need a pretty steady supply of stone danglies to keep me looking pretty and A & K usually has just what I am looking for.
They also do not judge me when I bring in yet, another earring with no match. Instead they quickly make me a duplicate, charge me less than $ 10, and send me on my way with a smile.
